I never understood the reason for the letter that Kayla wrote Steve during this time. I always wondered if it was her way of maybe getting Steve's attention so that he would come and help her.
@DawnYzag That's an interesting thought. I personally think that Kayla thought she was going to die, and she hoped that, deep down, Steve still loved her. I think she wrote that letter so that he wouldn't feel guilty when she died. Instead, he would think that she would have "died a happy woman".
You've got a good point though--that letter certainly did get Steve's attention! And he did take it as a sign...
