It's really nice to see a dedication to a bin wagon dude. Well done. 10 years is going some, the reccomended lifespan of a refuse vehicle is 5-7 years. Ours are 06 reg, due to be replaced in 13. 7 years. if you see her again, give her a pat from a fellow binman in the UK.
@djzee1000 cheers mate but i must break the news that she is already gone. she was overturned during the snow, no one was hurt except 158. check out my recent 158 end of an era video for more information on that
she was only a couple of months off her 12th birthday (S reg= 1998 and she was overturned in the early stages of spring 2010.)
thats a shame dude, but hey, both yourself and the blokes that worked with her will no doubt have fond memories. It's surprising how close you can get to a vehical you work on day after day...
@Kevin36097 no offence ment by the wrong sifde of the road joke. i picked it up from my road trip to the battlefields of france with my dad and his mate 5 years ago
Cargopak is amazing - as it comes from the same company that did the Revopak design I wouldn't expect anything else. The French sure know how to strap a dustcart together!
i really appreciate the service 158 has done. if she does retire for good, then i say farewell to her and she deserves respect for the hard work she has done
thank you very much. but 158 isnt going easy. infact i saw her this morning with her new driver. he picks up missed bins. thanks again for the wonderfull stuff you said. both 158 and me appreciate it
we use to have r rege dustcarts before are 07 but i would be happyer if we still had them
they use to pack more on but if were still cleanaway we would have still had them now we are focsa it is crap i wish i had a vidio of the r reg on wednesday i might be able to get a old yellow dennis xm15 body t reg cardboard it will be good
you said that they are goingt to have 3 lifts does that mean thay they are going to have a segeregated body for recycling where thay got 2 lifts for general and one for recycling
one thing i have heard is that they may be keeping 2 out of the 4 dafs as spares and for the market so im going to contact the foreman and see if daf 158 is one of them if not then i believe ill have a trawmatic expierience
yep 158 will live forever. im going to ask that if veolia does scrap her if they could give me the front and rear number plates as they bare her number S158TBC. i will hang them on my wall in my room
Well i can understand you feelings even though i don't drive a trash truck.I have an old 67dodge truck and rather i have a newer truck or car its allways my favorite allways i love my old truck.Maybe they can rebuild the truck its bound to be cheaper than a new truck cost???5Stars and saved to favorites

thats a good idea but tehy said that the body is a french one and parts are scarce for it in the uk so they gonna have to retire it
crushandburn51 3 years ago
Oh sorry well maybe you will like the new one??
arkansastrash320 3 years ago
i proably will ive heard that the new dafs are going to be phoenix body with 3 lifts . so that will probably be the reincarnation of 158.
