I know this one isn't, but the GC SRT* handles awesome for an suv.... these just aren't meant to be track driven..... and not too sure about the climate control panel.... I've owned a lot of jeeps, and they are very tough.... I question the amount of abuse that thing got off camera. I have also seen a lot of GC reviews... this one's opinions on quality seem to differ greatly from most reviews. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's noted that this isn't a very popular one.

This video sucks because it doesn't mention the trim level of the car. You cannot compare a regular Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a Jeep Cherokee Overland. The interiors are WAY different in quality!!!

CR tested the Loredo version because it is the best seller and is priced around $33-37k. I'll agree about the quality aspects, but remember Loredo is usually the one most Jeep shoppers look for. If you can fork $46k on the Overland, more power to you.

this guy is full of shit. i have one of these things and trust me, don't be discouraged by how they showed the climate control. that has NEVER happened to me. i'm pretty sure any climate control will do that if you try to push it into the engine..

He mentions how it is a huge jump over the previous generation, but he never says why. According to other websites the only thing people did not like was the fact that it got an SUVs gas mileage. And an under performing V6, it produces 290 HP, how much do you want, sure more is nice, but a V6 is perfect for on road driving.

I just bought a new 2011 jeep overland. The thing about it is that I have had chevy, dodge, ford and now the jeep. They didn't say anything positive on the video. It's obvious to me that they were trying to smear the jeep. Doesn't take any brain power to see that. Besides if you look long enough or punch anything hard enough your gonna find something wrong or brake it. They have one of the best warranties offered, built to last and they do for sure. I had my own 95 Grand Cherokee in 3 years. It pains my ass! Too much trouble! I traded with another one, 98, SAME problem! Nothing improvement! Noise! I dumped Jeep! I got new 2003 Honda Pilot, almost 8 years old, very very few trouble. I love it!!! I NEVER buy the infamous unreliable Jeep I can not trust anymore! Old and New Jeep are the SAME shit!

Easily the best looking SUV on the market. Good luck with reliablity. I bought a new 1993 Grand Cherokee. I had it 13 years, drove it only 60,000 miles, and spent over $10,000 in repairs out-of-pocket, once it was out of warranty. The warrany covered an additional $1,500 in repairs.

10k in repairs ? You just got unlucky, or you didnt service your vehicle like you were suppose too... Plus a 93 is the first year production.. First year anything always has some problems.. We have 2 98 Grand Cherokee, we have had one for 11 years and it has 170k miles on it and we havent had to repair anything cept the usuall, brakes, tires ect.. We have another one we bought a year ago it has 120k on it and runs just fine..

not the 05 and up. For the 5 years I had 05 limited with qdII the only things I had to replace were battery, front right wheel bearing and starter and belive me I drove this truck so hard on atv trails and punched gps in the screen. Nothing ever happened to it

I like the exterior design, but when I saw what happened with that climate control panel my jaw dropped! That's just awful. Unless this was a pre-production test unit (which I doubt) there is NO excuse for a BRAND new car to have such a major issue like that!

LOL, this review was Morbid, I think the guy was scared to be on camera. I have a 02 Grand Cherokee and emergency handling is horrible, the ride is great, the transmission died at 83K miles, the radio is GREAT. Its been a great car but I would not get another one
