This is great for people who don't draw but want to express an idea, but I can see a lot of people calling themselves comic artists are using this. That'd piss me off. Or maybe it getting out of hand and there's a huge amount of people using this or similar programs to do it. This is a great tool for quickly plotting layouts and composition, sure, but hopefully people won't continue stomping out 2D illustration and try to use this entirely.
Don't if I ask, but when do you think they will release an english version of this? Please answer my question or at the very least give me an estimate or guess. Thank you for your time and also nice video! :)
if all future manga was to change into something like this, then it would mean the end of manga. Everyone loves the traditional, white-black, with unique mangaka style original, right? but this program is a good play-around
If mangaka start using this program, i'm gonna stop reading manga alright!
IMO drawing manga by hand is more good than using 3D model for the character, you can see that every mangaka had their own style in drawing a character, that's one point of how amazing a manga (I mean it!)
i'm C4 at mh, thanks for sharing this info, it's a real good tool you got there but i find it quite limited in my opinion, at least someone will probably be famous by using that and those who real lack drawing skill but i don't see mangakas using this... You lose a lot when going from a pencil to animated character.
But you never know what future is, who knows, "next gen" manga will use this...
if mangaka start to widely use this, I dont repsect them or some of them anymore as (comic/manga) artists.
this sounds like everyone can make equal, almost identical manga without putting effort into it. even those who cant draw or those who can draw, but not fast enough to actually create 19 good pages a week. besides, in 3d that looks ugly imo.
personal drawing skills and creativity for the win, fuck 3d comics. 3d should just stay in animations and movies special effects.
@aoyuku Yeah yesterday i was saying if i had the connections i would make a programme which used 3d anime models and then used filters to make them appear like 2d drawings. Then i just saw this and realised it is literally exactly my idea. The programme even looks how i pictured it. If you just want to create manga then it is cheating and kinda lame, but im gna use it to create characters for a visual novel ive already written and produced lots of the music for. Can't wait for uk release!
@ishmael1991 You actually have the same idea I have. I'm working on a visual novel using RPG Maker VX, and I was going to use this for character sprites.
And I don't see using this for creating manga as lame. Lots of great artists are bad story tellers. Lots of great story tellers are bad artists. If anything, for a writer working with an artist, this is a godsend. Its easier for the artist to interperate the writer's idea when he can just put it down himself visually.
@Chocopyro I guess when you put it like that, it isn't totally lame, but i still beleive someone who was passionate about creating manga, wouldn't want to use artwork which 1000000s of other people could just create in exactly the same way in minutes. I think using it as a base point/virtual mannequin to start off with your characters would be far better, and would mean the characters would still be unique to your story. Thanks and Good luck to you too
@mangahelpers that´d suck if all manga would be 3d... seriously, I´d stop reading manga, I wouldnt anymore respect them as (comic/mangaka) artists. it just sounds like they´d be slacking from their work, and then anybody could do manga comics, even those who cant draw, or those who can draw but not so fast they could actually vomit 19 pages a week.
fuck 3d comics, personal drawing skills for the win.
It would be nice to have a 3D replica of my own character to use as a reference guide for drawing difficult poses. I've tried to construct one, but my 3D modeling skills aren't very good.

this will be a great program for those who can't draw, but still would like to write terrible stories with plot holes and character inconsistencies.

To think Hiroya Oku did gantz in a similar fashion to this. By rendering back grounds and such in 3d and outlining it. Same with the models.
However he seed to draw on top of the layouts. Its completely different and a more artistic way.

i had the same idea about this, but then i learn how hard it is the make manga. it's cheating, but a good way to show a story without writing novel.

@aoyuku Yeah, it's for those that just don't have the skills in drawing. If they're good enough their story using this will be read and enjoyed :).

@ishmael1991 No argument there. The old fashion way will always be superior.

Imagine how this actually might change the whole Work for Mangaka themselves oö
They could import patterns or their models and work with that so they´ld have less work with coming up with a release.
Neat Idea
michaelmita 1 year ago
@michaelmita Yeah. Apparently artists can submit their work to get a 3D model made specifically for them. So yep, it can help them release faster.
