I have watched numerous videos on jailbreaking, but i cant figure out the difference on using redSn0w vs Sn0wbreeze. Both seem to have ultraSn0w through Cydia, so does that mean i can use any1 for jailbreaking and unlocking?

I am getting an iPhone 4 this weeknd, which is carrier locked. So i need to unlock it as well and not just jailbreak it.

@gtrasi use snowbreeze because when you use redsn0w it doesn't put the ipad firmware on which you need to unlock it with, use snowbreeze right now to be safe

@Philmaguch when you say restore, are you sure you clicked shift+restore ? you have to choose the snowbreeze updated firmware file when itunes asks you for the ipsw file.

YES!!! IT"S ALIVE! Finally jailbroken and unlocked! Anybody having probs email me. I had to watch multiple vids and do multiple things, but it finally worked. I had 4.3.2 and got it untethered, but the unlock wouldn't worked. I had to use sn0wbreeze to downgrade to 4.3.1 then use the windows fix, which you need to d/l the zlib file for, then it worked! Installed untrasn0w, disabled 3g, and BAM! tmobile!

I did add the “74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com” to the hosts file. I am still receiving the same error.

Is this because 4.3.2 came out? I have only my 4.2.1 SHSH blob saved along with a 4.3b1 which I dont even know is.

In fact, I bricked the piece of shit the first time cause I use a Japanese Iphone on a US installed Itunes PC. Took my itunes a long time to even recogonize my phone, but it's always been like that since I bought it. Snowbreeze walks you through very well and this mans guide has some good tips to get you where you need to be at in that program! Feels like I just unlocked shackles man.

@Akechiiii of course you have to update your firmware.. this video is for the jailbreak for the 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak.. not the 4.0.1 firmware that you have.. but if you have an iphone 4. DO NOT update the firmware to 4.3.1 if you want to unlock if you have an iphone 4. it will change your baseband to an unlockable one. but if all you want to do is jailbreak but not unlock cause you are using AT&T then go ahead and update your firmware and jailbreak.

@nstrlvrz42 I dont think you need djayb6 anymore.. that was only a temporary thing.. when I unlocked my 3gS with baseband 06.15.00 i used djayb6.com to get the signal just like it says in this video.. but this guy says in his video that ultrasnow was temporarily broken for 4.3 firmware.. if you go on the Dev-team website it has a line all the way through the ultrasnow temporarily broken on 4.3.1 sentence and it now says its fixed..... Unless yours still gets no signal.

@nstrlvrz42 I figured out what your problem is.. you cannot unlock 05.16.02 baseband..it even says on the Ultrasn0w package in Cydia. It has a small list of what basebands are compatible with Ultrasn0w to unlock. WHat you will have to do is install ipad baseband 06.15.00 in the jailbreak process to unlock your phone. that baseband is compatible with ultrasn0w. then you will be unlocked.. Let me know how it turned out for you. rejailbreak your 3GS and install that ipad baseband..

I bought an iPhone 4 which is locked to AT&T (4.2.1 & 03.10.01) and it is stuck on "Slide for emergency" mode. I know I cannot unlock the device but I at least wanna be able to use it as an iPod touch (sadly).
