  • I used to watch this show when I was a kid. I remember something that for some reason is omitted. At the show's opening you see a crest with an eagle, lion, and a hand. The announcer used to say something like, "A doctor must have the eye of an eagle, the heart of a lion, and the hand of a woman." Wonder why we don't hear it here.

  • That's the wonderful character actor Arthur Space.

  • Thanks a bundle for posting this.

Medic, in my opinion, set the standard for the medical dramas that followed it.

And Richard Boone was simply OUTSTANDING.

  • A pretty young Richard Boone. Yes he did a great job. You're welcome.

  • This was a good episode. The doctor really hit rock bottom here but still luckier id say then the the other doctors. as he got a second chance with the help of a very good friend get back on his feet.Ty for sharing it was well worth the watch

  • Thanks Mela. He did have an awful time and was very lucky to have such a good friend. I didn't think he was going to pull out of it.

  • really like this one, was very good. :-)

  • Thanks Lucy!

  • to highway61media: thanks also for responding. PLEASE-PLease let me know when you have more episodes of MEDIC

  • I'm not a doctor. I don't even play one on TV... but it's really great to have such a big fan of Medic :) I will do my best to keep you informed of future uploads.

  • i can verify (since i work in the hospital pharmacy field) that to this day doctors still use Cocaine Hydochloride. It is labeled a DEA Schedule II narcotic in the same legal controll class as morphine and Oxycontin (meaning it is tightly regulated), and never once in my entire life, have i ever dispensed it for a patient lol.... but it does in fact still have use as a last resort means of procedure pain relief. very interesting video, thanks for allowing us to catch a glimpse of this classic!

  • Thank you for such an informative comment.

  • to hwy61media: please post more episodes of medic--interesting--very interesting show!

  • I will. I'm glad you like it :)

  • a pleasant surprise! richard boone looks so different here. I didn't know that he played a doctor on tv. This is great!

  • Neither did I until I came across this little gem. I'm glad you liked it. I have more episodes of Medic posted if you really like this program :)

  • This series (created by one of the writers who originally wrote for "DRAGNET") originally aired opposite "I LOVE LUCY" on Monday nights at 9pm(et) on NBC, and, despite mediocre ratings, won praise and awards for its dramatizations (including this story). This episode originally aired on February 28, 1955.

  • Thanks Barry. It deserved praise and awards. I think it's a great series.

  • This episode could easily be classified as a history lesson.

  • Yes it could. You may know this but Sigmund Freud encountered some difficulties with cocaine.

    Thanks for commenting.
