@stud101ification this is not illegal, there is now law against hackintoshing your pc. the only thing it does is that if apple comes into your house and finds out, your warranty is voided for the os if you bought it, because it does violate the end user agreement that one has to consent to intall the os in the first place. but can't charge u money or jail you for voiding you user agreement.

The only reason I don't have a Mac because WHO WOULD PAY OVER 3000 DOLLARS (2000 pounds in UK) FOR A MAC? I'd rather pay 200 pounds (300 dollars) for a windows 7, (or 100 pounds for a windows xp (150 dollars in usa))

Plus, all Windows computers under 500 dollars suck ass. I got a great Windows PC for 550 USD, and it's one of the best PC's I've used. I chose to get a MacBook Pro as well at $999, and it's freaking sweet as well, but what I really love is the graphics acceleration actually being put to good use.

Compared to those other 150 dollar PC's you speak of, which end up outdated in about a week. I want mt PC to do anything and everything I throw at it, and keep it's ass together without it falling apart. 27 tabs open in Chrome, 2 VM's ' running, pushing random files with ADB.. that stuff.

@strongbad73 The only parts you can't use in Macs that also work in PC's are most GPU's. Macs use something called the EFI, which is a replacement of BIOS. It's VERY SLOWLY becoming the way PC's are being made too, MS want it to happen at least. Most GPU's come with a BIOS and no EFI, same with PC motherboards. If you get a GPU with an EFI then it'll run on Macs too (and other non BIOS using OS's), or you can flash it to trick it into thinking it's EFI instead. Most other bits should work fine.
@probe5656 Most people buy Macs because they love the software. Most people buy PC's because they love the hardware (if the option of both is open to them and money is not a factor). Most PC users I've spoken to very very VERY rarely ever tell me they prefer PC's because of Windows, it's ALWAYS because they like the hardware. Macs are optimised to get the most out of the hardware they use with the software they run, you throw more hardware at Windows because it's less optimised (by and large).

@Paintballer4life117 A Mac is no less upgradable than a PC of the same form factor. Infact, it's easier to upgrade a Mac than most same form factor PC's. Companies like SONY and Dell make it difficult for you to get to the guts of your machines espeically in laptops. I had to replace the hard drive in my friends VAIO not too long ago and holy crap what a pain. Doing the same on my MacBook Pro, take panel off back, unscrew a few screws and bam, it's out, then repeat in reverse to put it back.

No. Plus, why are games so important to Windows users? That's always the thing they keep bashing on about. Most people buy a computer to get things done, not to play games. The installation completed but mac wouldn't start up it just kept going on that darwin thing - and kept on going back to the installer.
When i take the cd out and error comes up saying "Boot0: error" and also i can't access my windows 7 now :(

there are 800 dollar laptops with better hardware and can run the mac os too.
poor? no. spending over $1500 on a laptop for better os is simply stupid.
so at the end of the day you have a heavily over priced laptop. that has the parts of a 800 dolla and below laptop. sooo I think im more of a smart bastard.

@Paintballer4life117 but when my $1500 mac laptop lasts me 7 years without repairs,crashes that cost me files i cant get back and allowed me to upgrade through 3 newer OS's with no problem id say its was $1500 well spent when i think about the 3 PC's i went through in way less time and cost me way more then $1500 in the end. its not stupid to send money one something that lasts longer. 9 years and the price of 2 mac laptops or 3 PC's that ran me twice as much and that i dont even have anymore?

@Paintballer4life117 the pc's were desktops, one compact and 2 dells. and ill bet u any amount of money that any random pc will not have most of the hardware in a mac. a lot of there internal parts are made by apple for each specific laptop or desk top. so i doubt u will find them in a pc. i mean what ur saying is like saying a ferrari has the same exact parts as a jaguar. yeah they have all the basic part but u cant just take one part off the ferrari and put it on the jag.

@probe5656 ok u just said my logic was crap then basically said the same thing. read it again really slow this time, soak it in. please go find some parts that u can buy on a online PC store that say it works for both PC and mac. i doubt u will find any being that u have to go through apple to get parts that fit their products. maybe the processer cuz they use the intel core i5 and i7 but thats it.

@strongbad73 The only parts you can't use in Macs that also work in PC's are most GPU's. Macs use something called the EFI, which is a replacement of BIOS. It's VERY SLOWLY becoming the way PC's are being made too, MS want it to happen at least. Most GPU's come with a BIOS and no EFI, same with PC motherboards. If you get a GPU with an EFI then it'll run on Macs too (and other non BIOS using OS's), or you can flash it to trick it into thinking it's EFI instead. Most other bits should work fine.

@probe5656 Most people buy Macs because they love the software. Most people buy PC's because they love the hardware (if the option of both is open to them and money is not a factor). Most PC users I've spoken to very very VERY rarely ever tell me they prefer PC's because of Windows, it's ALWAYS because they like the hardware. Macs are optimised to get the most out of the hardware they use with the software they run, you throw more hardware at Windows because it's less optimised (by and large).

@Paintballer4life117 i doubt it, this is where u computer nuts get confused. ur building a custom computer and im buying one from a top manufacture with full warranty and support with all the bells and whistles! of course im going to pay more retard. u have a 90 day warranty on your $500 parts and i have 3years on my $1400 laptop and 3years on my $1800 24''imac and im more the certain ill be using both of them 5 years from now with out having to upgrade anything but the OS when the make a new 1.

i never said theyre bad computer's. im saying the its highly over priced. a top of the line mac and a top of the line pc have the same parts. and the thing with pcs is that when a part gets out date it could easily be switched. apple isnt customizeble. the only features you get are the touch pad stuff etc. but if thats what you like go ahead. ill stick to my pc and you can stick to your mac.

@Paintballer4life117 u can customize a mac desktop, laptops maybe not but i have found a couple videos right here on you tube that show u how to do a few different thing with the 24'' imac. and to say the only feature i get with a macbookpro is a touch pad shows me ur lack of knowledge with mac's. no offense. doesn't every laptop these days come with a touch pad?

@Paintballer4life117 good things are not cheap and they have been dropping their prices for some time now. my macbookpor was $1500 a few months ago,it replaced my ibook i bought 7 years ago for i think $2800 and is twice the laptop the ibook was. they are not that much really, there are just a lot of tight wads out there that dont wanna spend money.

@Paintballer4life117 A Mac is no less upgradable than a PC of the same form factor. Infact, it's easier to upgrade a Mac than most same form factor PC's. Companies like SONY and Dell make it difficult for you to get to the guts of your machines espeically in laptops. I had to replace the hard drive in my friends VAIO not too long ago and holy crap what a pain. Doing the same on my MacBook Pro, take panel off back, unscrew a few screws and bam, it's out, then repeat in reverse to put it back.

No. Plus, why are games so important to Windows users? That's always the thing they keep bashing on about. Most people buy a computer to get things done, not to play games. If that's all you think computers are good for then you need to assess your outlook on life.
