@ptiddie i use this pendrive on 2 computers and password works. Software is instaled in pendrive so we can use it on all computers

so.. basically... this is completely useless for 'carrying your data around' since the usb-stick can only be unlocked on the pc where the kingston 'software' has been installed.... which is of course the windows pc at home... and NOT the pc/mac/linux computer/notebook/tablet/phone­/car radio (or whatever device with a usb input) at school or at work or at a friends house/ in the car or where ever you need to access your information.

hint: usb stick with truecrypt. same protection, less $

It's quite obvious that people who buy a password protected usb thumb drive, plans to protect certain information from being accessed by other people. Now, wether it's a secret file of some sort or simply important files that should not be distributed or tampered with, depends on the user in question.

Being an engineer, I'm applying for jobs involving construction which often entails me to carry around secret blueprints on and off to work. A usb of this kind would help me protect such data.

The obvious use for an encrypted usb drive would be to store important files right, but as I don't have any important files I'd probably use it as a "school stuff" drive and/or game drive, throw wow 1 or 2 small steam games on there, stream em to a school pc, if a teacher comes by, close the game, pull out the drive and watch the teached go mental when he/she can't find out whats on the drive =D
