My future 2009 Mazda Miata won't be nearly as fast in terms of horsepower as the baseline Solstice but the handling in that car is just superb. The Miata is the small sports car that I have been looking for. I'm planning on getting the one that has Automatic Transmission w/paddle shifters.

i drove one of these today for the first time, with the turbo-13psi in 5500, 5spd stick, 4cyl, and it was ridiculously fast. i took it on the highway with the owner and topped 90 in a heartbeat. awesome cars.

A solstice gxp is faster than a 2009 s2000 by alot. Some one should get their facts right. GXP 0-60 is 5.5 and some say 5.1 with a good driver. The s2000 0-60 takes 6.1. The s2000 also makes less horsepower, and just look at the two side by side.
test drove the 08' Solstice GXP auto tranny and quite impressed, although not a fan of anything American, i will say that this little roadster sure does have the appeal of any 2seater in the market and a turbo4 to back it up. The only thing i didnt like under the test drive was the DANGEROUS blind spot this car has, i had to stick my head out of the window to make sure nobody was along side me. honestly, its probably the best looking convertible from detroit that any of us could remember.
I bought a 2007 GXP Agressive about 3 days ago and I have about every option shown on that GXP EXCEPT the automatic.
The sound system is flat out incredible for anyone who hasn't heard it. I had over $1,000 invested in my Civic's sound system and this is just as good if not better!
I LOVE the solstice GXP...not a fan of the base model but they got this one right! But you should complain about the trunk space...i drive a mr2 spyder...i have a tire in my "trunk".

and the gxp is a 2.0l automatic for 31k.. if you were smart you would buy the base model and put a better turbo than the stock gxp for cheaper and it would smoke the gxp no doubt.
The GXP comes standard with the 2.0 turbo and 5 speed manual transmission, so to me, it wouldn't make sense to pay the extra money to get the auto, unless you just have to have an automatic and you can't drive a manual, like me. I'm wanting to get a G8 GT. They're quicker off the line than the solstice gxp, have more room, but it gets worse mileage.

Better packaging, better overall quality, more refinement. The hardtop convertible makes it even better. Add in better resale. The solstice is great, but its got some major shortcomings. you dont hear a wastegate when you shift, thats the blow off valve. the wastegate bleeds off excess boost made by the turbo under throttle. this car is also an auto tranny car for those who have never seen one in person though know from ignorance that if it has a shift boot its a manual LOL
The manual is a lot better. I used to work at a Pontiac dealership. The automatics are fun but the manual is fun, because you can hear the wastegate when shifting. I think the Saturn Sky is the better of the two.

A solstice gxp is faster than a 2009 s2000 by alot. Some one should get their facts right. GXP 0-60 is 5.5 and some say 5.1 with a good driver. The s2000 0-60 takes 6.1. The s2000 also makes less horsepower, and just look at the two side by side.

test drove the 08' Solstice GXP auto tranny and quite impressed, although not a fan of anything American, i will say that this little roadster sure does have the appeal of any 2seater in the market and a turbo4 to back it up. The only thing i didnt like under the test drive was the DANGEROUS blind spot this car has, i had to stick my head out of the window to make sure nobody was along side me. honestly, its probably the best looking convertible from detroit that any of us could remember.

I bought a 2007 GXP Agressive about 3 days ago and I have about every option shown on that GXP EXCEPT the automatic.
The sound system is flat out incredible for anyone who hasn't heard it. I had over $1,000 invested in my Civic's sound system and this is just as good if not better!

and the gxp is a 2.0l automatic for 31k.. if you were smart you would buy the base model and put a better turbo than the stock gxp for cheaper and it would smoke the gxp no doubt.

The GXP comes standard with the 2.0 turbo and 5 speed manual transmission, so to me, it wouldn't make sense to pay the extra money to get the auto, unless you just have to have an automatic and you can't drive a manual, like me. I'm wanting to get a G8 GT. They're quicker off the line than the solstice gxp, have more room, but it gets worse mileage.

Stop calling it a "machine", who does that! An auto? Is this the solstice GXP GAY? I love the look of the solstice, but if you've ever driven a miata you will realize its far superior. Better packaging, better overall quality, more refinement. The hardtop convertible makes it even better. Add in better resale. The solstice is great, but its got some major shortcomings. The next version should address all of those. I can't wait. YOU DO NEED A MANUAL! PUSS!

you dont hear a wastegate when you shift, thats the blow off valve. the wastegate bleeds off excess boost made by the turbo under throttle. this car is also an auto tranny car for those who have never seen one in person though know from ignorance that if it has a shift boot its a manual LOL

The manual is a lot better. I used to work at a Pontiac dealership. The automatics are fun but the manual is fun, because you can hear the wastegate when shifting. I think the Saturn Sky is the better of the two.
