Wait, so tearing apart the each case is a real pain with a traditional computer but this thing just falls apart on it's own? What's so hard about taking out a few screws?
wow. Imagine if this computer doesn't get recycled properly the case will simply decompose. One would hope that the components would get properly tossed as e-waste.
The way I understand it, a metal computer case helps ground all of the sensitive computer components from things like ESD. This is why a computers made with plastic standoffs (instead of brass), or cases made out of some type of plastic (such as acrylic) in general have a much higher rate of hardware failure. Go metal cases.
meh, this is nothing new. The first computer I ever built, because I couldn't afford a case, was housed in a cardboard box....Most bad-ass computer I had ever had as a 15 yearold....
This is the dumbest idea I have ever seen and I work on computers every day. On a good note though, the guy in the video sounds exactly like Rick Moranis (see end of video at 3:50).... think Spaceballs, the movie. lol
did you just say $199 for a piece of cardboard and a power supply? LOL WTF kind of retard would buy that? only a "gree" freak environmentalist would be that dumb and i guess thats who its marketed at
Be careful, Your computer will be overheat and your cardboard will be burn and caught fire. Be careful BUT your computer cardboard is very friendy envo, What about very special paint .... Fireproof paint ?? That's good idea !!!! I found in my computer from my hard drive was very hot
Computer cases are already recyclable. Since when are metal cases not recyclable? If you want a cheap case, just buy one sheet of plenary glass and mount the motherboard to that. Then wall mount it.
This is just plain stupid. There is absolutely no point in getting this thing. Case is usually the easiest part of your computer to recycle, and it's also the least changed part of your PC.
So it's for people who heard recycling is cool and they don't think about it at all. You know what this case will cause? It will actually harm your beloved Earth even MORE, because of the poor stability for HDDs, which you will have to replace more often.
Hopefully you at least got some money for this ad.
a pc case made specifically for tree-huggers. lol

neat idea but I don't see myself using cardboard since the hardware I have would burn the cardboard.

@ceeM the cardboard already came from a recycled source. I guess if you buy a traditional case from a recycled source it would be the same thing.
