I just found out that "Pat" Jackie Courtney died last December. I felt sad about that. She was so beautiful.

The story of Joe and Viki was the best. Yes he disappeared for a while but was never really dead. That storyline with those two always rocked.

Always said Joe WAS Viki's best and most believable husband for her with a great sense of humor. Sorry when he was gone from the show.

I thought Meredith died of her illness and not the robbery, but I do remember it was summer 1973 when she died and there was a robbery. Maybe she did indeed get killed in the robbery. Either way I was devastated when she was out of the show. Loved her.

@CamilleLord The show has run it's course though. Let it go out with some decency. It really may have already stayed on too long as it is. This show was one of the best in it's day though. IMO Days of Our Lives should follow suit and bid farewell. That show is a shell of what it once was.

I think I'm most fond of Joe & Vicki too. He was such a good match for her. It always felt too "opposites" with Clint. Sloane was also pretty good, not so fond of Charlie. Again, too opposites. She needs a more polished guy like Joe or Sloan Carpenter

i agree with you too. I also think she needs someone more 'polished' like Joe or Sloan. I dont like her with Charlie. Maybe a little with Clint and Ben. But she seem to fit in much more with men like Sloan and Joe. I know Joe was also an alcoholic like Charlie, but it sort of difference. Idk, maybe its just me. And Jerry VerDorn's Clint maybe can fit in as well.

I can see that--I like the actor fine, but not in love with the aw-shucks Charlies. And Vicki rules when she's being elegant and classy. With Joe, they lived in that little house (this is before she took back Lanfair from a livid Dorian-GREAT stuff). But even in that little house, she had grace. Whenever they've tried to "down-home" Vicki, it just hasn't worked as well. And I'm NOT talking about the alters.She's alwyas great there (though NEVER more than when Malone wrote them!)

found the answer myself, dorian was played by actress nancy pinkerton, who had an affair with dr mark toland, who was played by tommy lee jones

@cathyj100 Jeez, I've looked all over youtube. You've answered what I've said forever. Robin Stasser wasn't the original Dorian. How long did Nancy Pinkerton play Dorian? I remember her and Tommy Lee. BTW, I haven't watched OLTL in years and years, but remind me who was Vicki's FIRST husband? It's been so long. And didn't she have a sister that died years ago? And who was the charachers name that later played Vicki's half sister? Thanks for any help you can give me.

@gotch09 Now that I remember Vickie also had a younger sister named Meredith(?) who died. I think Meredith was married to Larry(?). I think Meredith died in the 70's. Can anyone out there remember too? I do remember that Dorian's original last name was Crammer and she did have a sister named Melinda. And Melinda was either nutty and/or dying.

@gotch09 Meredith died in 1973. When Dorian first came to yown she was treating Joe's sister for an addiction to painkillers and Melinda was getting to know Meredith. Dorian warned Melinda to stay away from the Lords (kind of funny, considering Dorian became a Lord) and then Meredith was killed in a robbery. Also, Melinda recently died, too, in March of 2010.

@gotch09 The character died, I have no idea about the actress. But Dorian was trying to kill Mitch Laurence (who had come back from the dead) and he threatend her that he would kill one of her girls. So, she demanded everyone come back to Llanview (Cassie, Adrianna, Kelly, etc.) and when they were together, Cassie revealed that Melinda had jut died under mysterious circumstances. No onscreen death or funeral, but she died.

@gotch09 No problem! Larry was never written out of One Life to Live. In May 2004, Viki needed a heart transplant. Larry worked on her case and after that he wasn't seen again. I believe Viki mentioned he was visiting Dan Wolek, his son with Meredtih. You'll be interested to know that One Life is reportedly tring to recast Dan Wolek, Meredith's son with Larry. He will supposedly be played by Michael Park from ATWT, in October or November.

@bmf1706 I forgot that Larry and Meredith had a son. I haven't followed soaps in 30 years. But with the soap network, I watch a little here and there. I've always preferred the ABC soaps the best.

@bmf1706 Hope they bring him back before the cancellation. They really should. This shows phenomenal history justifies bringing Larry back into the fold before it's ending. He was there from the inception with Meredith and for so long was an integral part of this show. Always liked Larry so much.

I just remember some doctor saying, "Joe Riley is alive" when everything thought he dies in a car accident.

Crap? for that I refuse to answer...OK...Joe disappeared in 1970 and was found down the river by Wanda Webb Wolek in 1972. Mystery solved. Joe died in 1979 for real in Vicki's arms of a tumor.
