My old bass teacher got lessons from Steve Bailey (who Dave here mentions near the end), and I was taught that same little exercise. Let me tell you, it's brutal, but I really do recommend it for bass. Also, go search "Bass Extremes" on youtube. Just do it.

Priceless! Its so funny to hear Dave say that in his early days he didn't practice his timekeeping skills a thoroughly as he should have. Cause in one of the guitar mags a few years ago Dave Mustaine said that "Jr" had a hard time playing in time in the studio and that Marty Friedman wanted Dave to fire Jr and hire a bass player who "shit base lines".

@robbatkinson666 Wow lol, I had absolutely no idea Marty thought that way about Jr's skills, it is infact very humorous that you point that out.

Marty is my favorite guitar player in the whole world(next being Eric Johnson, then Jason Becker) and I love Jr. I'm shocked that Marty asked Dave to do that, but at the same time, I'm laughing my ass off!, I don't why I think it's so funny.
