Please write the new book (or parts of it) in first person perspective. I absoutly loved being inside Eisenhorns head for the trilogy. I think if that was written in a different perspective it would be a lot harder to make a deeper connection; which is why most people seem to prefer Eisenhorn i think. In any case I just wanted to thank your for best damn books I've ever read (Gaunt's Ghosts doesnt count since I'm still reading it).
Daaan frikken Abnett. I own 2 copies of the Eisenhorn Omnibus and it's quite simply the greatest story I've ever read. Ravenor was magnificent but will never measure up to Eisenhorn (because Eisenhorn doesn't use psychic powers as a crutch to go around magically pulping the minds of everyone invading his spaceship). Ibram Gaunt is also a spectacular character but lacks the freedom and resources. Gregor Eisenhorn is given funding, a mission, and liberty to execute the mission as he sees fit.
Just a word of appraisal for your great Work Dan. I've never been much of a reader (well except for the hundred's of book during my political science and public relation studies) and tanx to your work, i've finaly discovert how books can be addictive. I've Read Ravenor Omnibus in a week-Titanicus-Eisonhorn-The Founding! I'm a real fan of your work ! thanks again !
@RogerioMartins87 finish Eisenhorn take a bit to soak it up (i did about 4 days just fantastic 4 days didnt do anything but think of it) then delve into Ravenor
@kineticatom1 He was cleared of all charges by the inquisition but he never turned up. Aka he disappeared, most probably with Cherubael. The inquisition didn't know about Cherubael. Well that's what I gather from the end of the book. ( the official report bit)
@darkkalek i believe that the inquisition did know about cherubael didnt eisenhorn lord inquisitor rorken and eiesenhorn discuss it on thracian primars
just getting into the warhammer 40,000 books, purchased Ravenor. NOW, should I read Eisenhorn first? or is there a better book for me to get into this series??
@ hocheyphuck While the two trilogies are stand alone in their own right, start with Eisenhorn because thats where Ravenor is first introduced. There a ripping read anyway so you wont miss out!
Is he refering to the same Bequin from the Eisenhorn series? She didn't discover her untouchable powers until she met Eisenhorn, and If recall correctly she died near the end.
I liked her as well. In the Ravenor books she is still frozen. That is all it says. I would also like a follow up on her and can not wait until the new trilogy comes out!
Eisenhorn was a create few books. I got the big fat omnibus book and ive read it multiple times, but unfortunately lost it a few weeks ago. Amazing books though, keep it up my friend, your writing is turly awesome.
I don't know. Ravenor doesn't seem the sort to try and kill someone he respects just to make himself popular again, and his experiences with Molotch must have given him a better understanding of the "whatever it takes" attitude of a (now) radical like his former teacher. There has to be a reason.
well, the hereticus hunts heritics and the like, so they kinda hunt all people who are violating Imperial or Inquisitorial Law. Technically speaking rouge psyckers fall under the mandate of all the ordos.
Any inquisitor will hunt for anything they see as a threat - the different ordos do have jurisdiction arguments, but given that any inquisitor has a "do whatever I want and get away with it badge", unless there's someone more senior in the ordos about it's not an issue most of the time.
Eisenhorn, for example, are both nominally Ordo Xenos yet even when first introduced (as a strict puritan) Eisenhorn is busy hunting for a heretic who works for chaotic cults.

pein374 1 year ago
@pein374 They didn't know that..
A= Cherubael was called cherubael.
B= That happened in Malleus, so by this time the Inquesition didn't know it still existed. (because Eisenhorn banished it with his staff.)
C=They also didn't know that Eisenhorn had re-summoned it.

@TheHarcipoter no he is a radical and considered to the Ordo Malleus (bastards) a heritic

Yes same Alizabeth Bequin.
Last we saw of her she was comatose on the Hinterlight after the incident on Cadia and as yet we have had nothing to say what state she's in.

To hell with the puritanical guys, Cherubael is a badass mofo. Haha.

Ravenor was siding and getting information from the Eldar. Not hardly the cleanse and purify type.

Cannot wait! Bequin was one of my fav characters, and I can't wait to rad the book. Eisenhorn vs Ravenor, oh sounds like it's gonna be good.

they also hunt rogue inquisitors

They do in fact hunt psykers, because a psyker is the perfect conduit for a daemon
