  • PLAY THE DARN SONG!

  • @CatPerez2012

    1. Learn how to use the darn fast-forward button!

    2. Watch somebody else's channel!

    3. Go away and don't come back!

  • Play it through at the top of the video, and then break it down and explain...

It's so frustrating when it's done the other way around.

    Why is that?

    ...other than that...thanks.

  • Beautifully done and very accurate for how Townsend voice his chords. You nailed it!

  • you're getting very good tone on this recording. What do you have you 200 strung with?

  • @DIFowner I don't really pay much attention to the brand of the strings, I normally buy whatever coated strings are on sale. But you could string a J200 with yarn and it would sound huge.

  • pretty good lesson, but, please don`t bite your Fingernails, it looks very bad at the Video...:)

  • @rallegai Thanks for chiming in, Mom.

  • Brilliant mate, such an awesome song

  • Found that D on the 10th - thanks for pointing me here...

  • @privettricker that is a great tutorial my friend, very helpful how you broke everything down part by part it makes it a lot easier to learn correctly thank you again.

  • Good

.the mediator is very soft.what is this name.

    salutations from france

  • Nice lesson

  • Very good lesson

  • I can't thank you enough for teaching us this. Best wishes.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us this awesome song! Out of all the videos which teaches us this song, your's was the BEST!!!

  • I think I've gotten more out of your videos by way of just watching you play, describing chords and their many variations than I ever did taking lessons. Thanks so much and keep them coming!

  • I wish we could play together. I noticed tour teaching all my favorites tunes..Cant get anyone to play those classicswith me...

  • GREAT TUTORIAL!!! Thanks for making it clear where your fingers are!!

  • Minnesota rules : )

  • This is absolutely wonderful! I've always wanted to be able to play Pinball Wizard, but thought it would be too daunting for my meager guitar skills. But, thanks to your excellent tuition, I've nailed it in half an hour.

    Thanks so much!

  • really? even the strumming??? u cant be a novice then

  • Thanks for the great video. Just one correction from one musician to another.

On the third chord in the very beginning of the song. The F should go back on the high E string. When you listen to the song again you'll hear it.

    It goes on the high E string. 1st chord F, 2nd chord E, 3rd chord F, 4th chord E.

  • At 7:26 you say A string at 4th, and G at 3rd, but u hold down G at 2nd. Which one is it?

  • @dabeast251 G string at the 2nd fret -- sorry about that.

  • awesome video

  • Can you do a version of Sheraton Gibson by P.T.? That would be cool

  • nice one fella , this is the best video for this song i have found i can now play pinball wizard , my hat is off to you ! thanks from dartford england

  • I first found the vid where you play along with the record, now this. Great work, thank you so much ! Great guitar, by the way !

  • Another great video from you! What is that guitar? Is that Guild? I had a few of the chord positions incorrect for that first intro part, so ....thanks!!

  • @icitnow That's a Gibson J200.

  • @privettricker ha! That was going to be my second guess! It sounds and looks great!!

  • @privettricker It's a f*cking great guitar man, love it!

  • Amazing! Thanks for all your work!

  • Another great video mate, yours are some of the best tuition videos on the site, simple, not too technical, all about the fun of playing, you explain this tune ( one of the greats) really well, thanks, Steve, England.

  • This is a fantastic lesson - great work and great choice of tune - thank you...!

  • awesome thanks....i like your tutorials...btw i have the same birthday as mcqueen so i understand your reference. Too bad kids and family gets in between the guitar and the rock climbing :)

  • Thanks for all your videos - I have learned a lot from your play. Could you please

do a tutorial on 'It's a Boy' sometime soon. Thanks again for your music!

  • Excellent tutorial for a great song on a sweet guitar. What's better than youtube I ask.

  • Thanks PT! What's next ? My Generation? The bass lines on "my generation" were awesome!

  • Great lesson! Really enjoy the way you explain everything. Keep up the good work. I'm getting better thanks to you.

  • excellent..!! 10points..!! grettings from Chile...!!

  • This is great, thanks!!!It would also be great if you could also do a lesson on behind blue eyes :)

  • you must drop more lessons, they are great!!!!!

  • Great lesson, well explained, thanks much

  • Excellent as usual, but I gotta know.Do you do normal everyday stuff like eating ,sleeping or working? You are a most prolific video poster.Keep them vids coming.

  • @laiosto It's like Steve McQueen said in LeMans: "Racing is life. Everything else is just waiting." Playing guitar is like that for me.

  • Comment removed

  • @laiosto normal life happens during upload time

  • Thanks for another Pinball lesson. I watched your other Pinball and struggled with that introduction even when I searched other sites. Go figure, there's only six strings, but I needed more adult supervision and I didn't want to bother you. Thanks again for taking the time.

  • Great lesson, you have explained a couple of bits of this tune that I could never get to work before.

Any chance of an acoustic "Wont get fooled again lesson?"

    Pete

  • @wriggley05 lol i swear its three chords A G D

  • @elitemx101 Half of everything Pete's ever written is A G D.

  • @privettricker The A G D is the easy bit, Pete just adds all the fill around them which make three simple chords come alive. His live acoustic version of wont get fooled again is a masterpiece. The really cool thing that you do is to pick a tune apart and explain to mere mortals like me how the pieces fit together. I really appreciate the lessons you put on line I have great fun playing (badly) the stuff you play so easily.

You have a cool T Shirt collection too.

    Keep rocking

    P...

  • Great lesson. Need some work to get up to the strumming speed.

  • SO GREAT

CAN YOU DO A LESSON OF THE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF 'MAGIC BUS' THAT PETE PLAYS ON THE DEEP END CONCERT VIDEO ?

MERCI POUR TOUTES LES VIDEO FROM FRANCE

    Daniel

  • can't tell you how helpful your channel is man... just amazing that you put all this stuff out there for people like me to spend hours trying to get down. Can't thank you enough.

  • ummm i have an issue.. i cant bar the b chord with my pinky cause its dislocated is there an easier way to pay the b chord at 7:00? btw ur a lot better teacher than martty schwartz and that says alot! keep it up

  • @klatorre44 Try your ring finger. I know my fingerings are different from most people!

  • @privettricker yeah...that gosh darn pinky in place of the third finger...drives me nuts...but I can't look away...your taste in music is the same as mine and you play great....I am a fan...damn it!

  • @privettricker lol.. thanks!can u do a turtoriol on amanda by boston?! i would love that thanks again =D

  • @privettricker I didn't say anything!

  • @klatorre44 wow, I learned a LOT from Marty. How come you think that ? Btw privettricker is just as good, so no offense to him

  • @TimBirkenholz i learned alot from him too but idk i think this guy explains the songs in better format

  • @klatorre44 ahh well, I stopped looking for lessons to learn songs anyways. First i always try to figure it out myself, then I watch some lessons to check if I did it the right way.

  • Love the fact you do so many Who/Townshend songs, you really explained this well, thanks! Pete's a genius. :-)

  • Do a cover on Sharp Dressed man! I know you can do it! Do that before Ten Years Gone lesson

  • sgtpepr65, couldn't agree more. privettricker is like recess at school.

  • EXquisite!!!

  • Thanks for taking the time for such a full explanation, really helps a hack like me! If you could do more Who lessons that would be great ... I realize My Generation from LIve at Leeds is asking a lot but a lesson on that or just a portion of it would be great. As always enjoy the lessons!

  • So good.

Even if I know how to play the song your highlighting...I still sit and watch it.

Like a favorite TV show....can't wait for a new episode. And I can always watch the reruns. Thank You.

  • @sgtpepr65 Totally agree. Well put.

  • Excellent

  • The Youtube could hire you!

You have over 800 videos, and it would be great if they hire you, you would be reciprocated by their work, whether it's right?
