The thing that you should have done is enable both wifi in both phone so that they will have the same signal source.

I have both phones and depending on the area coverage, the IPhone or the Pre would be faster so to give them a fair rating you need to compare them when both phones have the same reception bars. It looks like one phone only had one bar while the other had full bars. So the speed test is not accurate. I test them and in some cases the Pre was faster and in other areas, the iPhone was faster. Overall, they are both exceptional phones.

I actually have the palm pre and i agree with you. Everyones being dum all these phones are within seconds of eachother now. 3g,3gs,pre. They are all so close it doesnt matter anymore. But iphone is only popular cause apple made out off the ipod line and all their fans followed over to whatever they made next. The only big thing i think sets the pre apart from the iphone is the iphone plans are up to 600 more a year in the usa. So after a 2 year contract i'd have paid $1400 for that phone.

Actually the hardware is identical. Both have 600 mhZ processors, both have 256 amount of RAM. The Safari browser may be a millisecond faster over wifi, but over 3G, the Pre just crushes if they both have full signal. BTW, ATT won't be done "rolling" out the 7.2 HSPA until 2011. By then, there will two more iPhones, haha... I am sure a loyalist like you will by both if they have 2 to 3 more features than the previous models.

I like Sprint and I own the Pre but this is incorrect. Pre doesn't have the hardware compatibilty with 4g. Future WebOS devices will probably though.

Pre ABSOLUTELY has the hardware. The arm proccessor can be pushed to 1 ghz, but of course would kill the battery even more. The pre has the latest technology built by texas instrument (OMAP3) . It was also confirmed by sprint that the Pre would be the first phone converted over.

I put the webos update and it does improve the browser speed and functionality a bit, though their still problems and bugs but it is improved. Also you need to do a WIFI comparison so you do a fair comparison of brower speed independant of what cell signal you're getting at the time.

pre cards put it ahead of the iphone. then all my friends with iphones argued for the iphones use of itunes and app store. pre has both aswell. pre connects directly to itunes aswell. keyboard goes to the pre aswell. and i use mifi in my house to, again, pre wins.
