All giving an STi to the police will do is encourage the kids to tune their cars to the next level. Besides, any street racer is going to know his car, its abilities, and his abilities better than a cop who went through a driving school and is just driving an STi around to "scare" the kids. While a 6 digit sports car probably isn't in the budget for most police saying it handles poorly as a reason why they couldn't use it is bogus.

Also, a Subaru police car might not be heavy enough for a PIT manuever (unless it's an Outback or Tribeca).

The two Subarus closest to a police car would be the flat-6 Outback and Tribeca.

I used to have a 07 Base WRX with just a cobb exhaust it beat a stick 05 v8 GT mustang, and also a G35 coupe dont know what model. Both cars had more hp. The WRX only had 228 hp and is a 4 cyl im guessing the new v6 mustangs are slower vs. the older GT v8s. Performance was like a 300c w/ 5.7 hemi i liked the fact that it only had 228hp and performed like a 345+hp v8 sedan. lol i stayed away from STIs,Evos,speed6 etc.
