This is the video that started it all for us being filmed by Uncle Tote in Santiago City. We were looking for Manila recording studio vids and found this one.
The bassist is Onie "Badass" Badiang, and the guitarist is Romel "Sancho!" Sanchez. We refer to the sessions as Uncle Tote's Quezon City Torture Test. I really pushed the guys to the limit for 4 days, and they threatened to kill me and throw my body to the starving cows next to the studio
This was a magical session. I lived at the Shinji Tanaka's studio for 4 days. Shinji doesn't speak a lot of English, but he's fluent in Tagalog. Fortunately for me, I speak Japanese, having worked in Tokyo studios for 5 years. The cool thing is that the last band I engineered in Tokyo was Shinji's idol band when he started playing the drums. The name of his studio, Sound Creation is an homage to that band: Creation.
