  • Vinnie appice on drums

  • black sabbath/ judas priest - keep the faith metalheads

  • this is almost better then sex with the hotest bird in the bar been waiting over twenty years to finaly hear this col remeber having to make do with a few photos in the following weeks kerang back in late 92

what happened to ozzys farwell tour then can the fans get their money back under trade descriptions?

  • Halford doesn't use head voice that much, he mostly uses reinforced falsetto for his highs, when he reaches his passaggio(mids, which is where this song generally is for him) he has a hard time maintaining power. Dio was all about his powerful head voice, different areas of power for different approaches. Rob would have considerable difficulty performing a Dio set while Dio could never pull off the kind of performances from Unleashed in the East.

  • holy shit this gives me the chills My to favorite bands sound mixed together

  • Metal God doesnt disappoint!

  • Bob didn't hurt the song...he murdered it and killed it.but he's a great singer... with his material

  • unworthy fucks who are the ones saying Rob hurt this song in any way.

    unworthy for metal and life.

    kill yourselves.

  • Rob the Metal God!!!!woooow!!!!what a lucky crowd that saw this concert with this line-up!!!!!!Historical moments really!!!!!fucking awesome!!!!!

  • Is That Jason Newstad on Bass?

  • @oksooner405 yes and it's Ian Paice on drums :)

  • This song was actually intended for Ozzy to sing before Dio joined the band

  • @Beegees75 where the fuck did you hear that bullshit? It's pretty well known that Children of the Sea was written together by Dio and Iommi, first song they ever wrote together.

  • @Beegees75 Nope.

  • Really he shouldnt...his stile is more clean and high and falsetto in the very high notes. This song killed him and vice versa lool.lack of strengh and growling.Embaressing.But hes very good at hes songs

  • He destroys this song

  • @lamentfly if you mean destroyed in a good way then he did destroy this song

  • @islesrock in a goodway ? very funny

  • Halford is a good singer, but he lacks the richness of Dio's voice. Sure, he hits the high notes great, but his voice seems one-dimensional. Sure Dio probably couldn't sing JP songs as well as Halford, but neither could Halford sing Dio's stuff, and I mean the music from EVERY part of Dio's career, from his late 50's crooning/doo wop, to the Elf blues, country/rock music, through Rainbow's epic masterpieces and so on. No comparison.

  • @wtglb Right on Dio is the best there will ever be

  • That's it. HEAVEN AND HALFORD has to happen. This has to be Sabbath's new lineup. Priest is on a little break I think, so why not?

  • @Legionbass19 it would be good .. Tony always gets the best singers ..

  • This guy is in fact The Metal God!

  • 1 chuj.

  • Halford sounds like a constipated Geddy Lee in this video.

  • @macuco Holy shit! Another metal fan that knows who Geddy Lee is!

  • Is that Colonel Klink or Rob Halford? Hah! Bizarre! He kicks ass on the Dio material!

  • yeah he s great. weird blouse. just saw the band HALFORD in dallas tx, great show but the people there were a bunch of assholes. the service sucks at the house of blues.

  • halford locks like pinhead

  • Phenominal petformance! Halfords voice sounds great with sabbath!

  • Halford is obviously great, but no one can replace RJD....

  • @DiamondDEK

Yep! I love them both but Ronnie is one and only. Noone can replace him. Perhaps he is singin to God right now!

  • buff,nudo en la garganta

  • This will always be a Dio's Sabbath song, but Halford does this song justice. Hey, it's a Dio/Sabbath song with Halford singing....you can't go wrong!!

  • "loook out....the sun is goin black black"....loook out halford in the house!!! \m/

  • halford and dio are the best metal singers!!

  • @wavierbaltazar Dio Halford and Tate best singers ever

  • Completely f**king badass!

  • Halford's voice and scale fits for this song, but I'm affraid he cannot perform it like Dio did, actually no one can. Dio's voice was unique and forever will be.

  • @ShackledAndChained Dio was and is the best my friend. Not only his voice he was the greatest front man to see live.

  • I think it is great for legendary metal bands to cover each others songs.

  • i did a version ,,love you fans to check mine ,,its pretty raw ,,

  • Fun to hear. Rob is great, but he cannot cover Ronnie Dio. Nobody can. Still fun though. Children of the Sea is too high for Rob's range, or should I say everyone's range except for Dio? RIP Dio! Pretty damn cool in any case.

  • @BarefootRadio it s not too high...it s too low for him....differents voices

  • @BarefootRadio Children of the Sea isn't high at all. Dio could never go high, it's his tone of voice and technique that made him special. Halford on the other hand goes the highest.

  • @BarefootRadio I listened carefully when he sang "We blind the SKYYYYYY…" Dio wasn't 100% high, he was a low tenor and his vocals were about power and sustain. Halford could hit the note but not hold and push it like Ronnie. Listen to Dio's "Sky," like the irresistible force it only gained power as it went on. He had an operatic/bardic voice.

  • Very few could ever fill Ronnies shoes, R.I.P. Ronnie, But Rob Rocks with Sabbath,

  • @Docadolf Give up fool. You embarrased ya self last time. Haven't you learnt anything yet!!

  • Holy shit!!! it's the metal god!!

  • The Boys from Birmingham, the Brummies, were and will ever be Dio's greatest pals. God Bless, paisano.

  • @Docadolf The sound of the show is not very good, but Halford kick ass, his style is so different than Ronnie Style, but he make a excelent performance...and I think that Halford can sing better Dio songs than Ronnie(DEP) could sing Halford songs, its obviously...

  • omg Rob kicks so much ass

  • I don't give a shit who is 'better'. It's all good.

  • Great job by Halford, he didn't try to deviate too much from the original vocals.

  • wow is all I can say

  • Amazing

  • Talk about dribbling shit from your ass Docadolf. This is classic stuff! Two of the best metal bands on earth mixing it up big time. I just wish they'd put out a full length cd or better still, a dvd. That would be insane!

  • Comment removed

  • you guys have to admit that iron maiden/judas priest's guitarists cannot come nearly close to tony iommi. tony iommi = best metal guitarist NO QUESTION!!!!!!!!

  • @ijemekkos4life iron maiden guitarists sure as hell can't, but damn dude, Glenn and KK are probably the most underrated guitarists ever

  • @DavidDavidsonful Downsy & Tippy are great,man!!!!

  • This rendition is awesome!! Halford is one of the best metal singers of all time. Why not him? Why would you have a problem with him singing this? Not many singers can fill Ronny Dio's shoes - so give Halford a freakin break!!! For him, this is extracurricular work!!

  • (towards docadolf)i was at this concert i don't think this is a joke.....rob has a better voice then dio, don't get me wrong dio is an awsome singer, but rob is better!!

  • Best vocalists for Sabbath have been: Halford, Gillan, Dio

  • You are total piece of shit and pretty much cant stand anything different.

  • @Docadolf would love to hear Dio attempt any Priest classic especially anything in his trademark high register..now that would be funny!!

  • dude, why you gotta bash Rob so bad? Could you do it any better?

  • this is like a metal dream come true!

  • um sinbysin666 children of the sea is a dio sabbath song/ heaven & hell

  • A lot better than Ozzy.

Really fits the music of Sabbath.

  • im telling you, sabbath with ozzy/dio, maiden, and priest should do a metal god concert with all of them playing and then at the end they all come out as one big band and play a song together. that would be epic.

  • The energy of the whole concert is awesome. Love to see Geezer and Iommi with big smiles painted on their faces.

They are having fun and this is reflected to the whole perfomance!

  • was rob ever considered to replace ozzy? if so, why didnt he? i like robs singing more than ronnies. well thinking about it i guess rob was still quite involved with his own band so wouldnt or couldnt joiin sabbath at the time.

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!!Two things that you wouldn't sound good together and then BAM kick ass!!!!

  • Pffft....no complaint from me dude.

  • "Altough 2004 Halford with Sabbath was a failure. 2004 Rob tried to sing like Ozzy. "

Dios songs I think take more advantage of Halford voice. In 04 he was doing Ozzy songs.

  • Imo probably the best Children of the Sea.

Altough 2004 Halford with Sabbath was a failure. 2004 Rob tried to sing like Ozzy.

  • The Beast that is The Priest comes to The Sabbath for a Night! Rob sounds awesome on this.

  • FUUUUUCk

  • Black Judas rules .

  • Black Priest or Judas Sabbath is more like it!

  • Would be quite the tour... I agree... I saw Black Sabbath with Ian Gillian on the Born Again tour, and that was AMAZING to say the least...

  • Rob Halford with Black Sabbath... now that would had the makeings for one hell of a tour.

  • Rob Halford wants a tour with Judas Priest, the original Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Motorhead. I would pay ANY amount for that

  • Halford-DIO-DIO_Halford who gives a sh5t-There both great!!!!

  • doesnt matter wot Halford sings its all awesome

  • @fenixmaker gotta go with Roonie James Dio with this song

  • i agree. i love halford. but this is dios baby.. P.S. halford is a singing mofo.

  • I could see Bruce Dickinson doing a great job with this song IMO.

  • Hope to see Black sabbath + Rob halford in concert again !!

  • WOW ! i love ronnie , but halford gives this song a whole sound

  • @ste670ler YES...WEAK OUT OF TUNE WHOLE SOUND

  • One of my all time favorite songs and MAN I'll tell ya ROCK THE FUCK ON ROBBY!!!

  • great lineup!!! Sabbath, Priest, Dio i'm under the wheels of confusion .... Anyway the DIO era is the best Black Sabbath time in my opinion. Have a nice day

  • what a great shows these were, costa mesa. hard to top that.

  • WOW: I wish they had a real recording of this. It's a DREAM TEAM if there ever was one.

  • i totally agree! halford in his prime singing dio with sabbath, and regular sabbath tunes. I'm gonna have to look for him singing time machine! And better yet, people missed it twice! He did the same thing on ozzfest

  • Rob Halford = God

    Black Sabbath = Gods

    Rob Halford + Black Sabbath = ... ?

    Yes, that's it !

  • Shouldn't Sabbath be the gods and Halford their Priest? (I don't know if Iommy would like to be called a god, though).

  • HALFORD IS FUCKING WICKED !!!!

  • Rob should've jumped into Sabbath when he left Priest....

  • Can't believe this actually happened. Rob is just amazing both on the dio and ozzy material. makes me wish they would have made born again with him instead og Ian Gillan!

anybody got a link for a good quality bootleg CD of this show? wanna be able to listen to it wherever I am. =)

  • If you search torrents you'll find one there. I did.

  • Is this the tour that Dio walked out on when he found out that Ozzy would be singing with the Sabs again? That's OK. Halford does a great job filling in. This was an interesting pairing for both but it works.

  • Ronnie James Dio refused to open for Ozzy, Ozzy was pretty harsh on Ronnie when Ronnie replaced him in Sabbath. Ozzy had a midget on the Diary Of Madman Tour that he hung every night. He named the midget Ronnie.

  • Your right. I totally forgot about the midget named Ronnie. I have the Chicago boot from 82 where he says "hang the b@stard" at the end of the band jam. For some reason I never associated that with Dio. Good call.

  • Wow this is the first time I heard about this midget named "Ronnie." Good stuff. :P

  • Beilieve it or not, Rob will be singing well into his old age.He knows how to sing from below his throat which gives his vocals longevity.

  • we hope the priest sing into their 90's.

  • for sure,i heard of this gig w/Sabbath and thanks to youtube we can see what transpired.Truely a great performance.Rob could have done Ozzy;RJD;and some new stuff w/Sabbath and not skip a beat.

  • Rob was great with Sabbath, both on Ozzy and Dio songs. In my opinion he did better on Ozzy's songs than Dio, when he was in the band.

  • This is actually ok.

  • Wow, wow and wow!!! This is awesome! Rob Halford along with RJD, Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate are my favorite metal singers.

  • It's too bad Rob never got in the studio with Sabbath... they could have done some interesting original material together.

  • AMEN BROTHER!! They could of easily hooked up in the early part of the decade.>>>>shame )_(

  • amen on that amen brother! Always made me sad

  • Wow, Rob did a pretty good job. I prefer when Dio sings it, but this was still great.

  • thanks for posting this video!!!

  • way better than the others

  • Its from the Sabbath album Heaven and Hell, which was the first to feature Dio on vocals. It was the first album after Ozzy left.

  • And.... what an incredible album it was!!!! I can't rmbr, was Neon Knights on that one? Sorry, I'm gettin' a bit older :-)

  • Yeah that's track #1, followed by the one featured here. Awesome first two tracks!

  • That was a great job.

A Tony/Geezer/Halford/Appice album would be fantastic

  • Awesome,thanks!

  • Amazing!!

  • fucking wowowowowowow

  • the old man sitting there hes head bowed down anthing halford anthind dio anthing sabbath god bless the meatal gods up the irons and thres is only one em thats fuck em

  • Halford and Sabbath are pretty tight. He's often filled in when needed whether it was Dio or Ozzy who couldn't make it for what ever reason. He's like the 5th member or something. He knows the material and sings it very well. He's also a hell of a showman.

  • He does a fairly good job, but he's only filled in a total of 3 times. Twice for Dio and once for Ozzy. Still awesome.

  • I wonder if Dio, Ozzy and Halford have ever been in a room together?

  • sandprof i think your in a room by yourself thinkin and wishing these men could join ya.your a idiot.

  • OOOh - wouldn't I be the lucky one ducks :-)

  • whoa dude, take it easy. The guy was just wondering.

Either way, I doubt it. Ozzy and Rob grew up in England, and Ronnie grew up in Philadelphia, iirc. So they may have been in the same room two at a time, but I highly doubt that all three have ever been in the same room.

  • Dio and Rob are on film together. Check out the "Stars" video.

  • Yeah, but without Ozzy. I was responding to whether Rob and Dio have ever been in the same room with Ozzy, which I doubt.

  • fuck yea! be nice if all the old songs and bands could do a live cd!

  • amazingggggg!!!!!!

  • OMG!! Best I have ever seen!

  • why couldn't Halford have joined Sabbath and made an album with them it would have been great, oh well this is still absurdly awesome

  • does anyone have N.I.B. from this show if so can you upload it sabbath is my favorite band in metal i have the song in audio and its on you tube but id love to see it in visual

  • Rob is one of those vocalists that hasnt received the credit he deserves...awesome performance.

  • hes the metal god and he started the image. He gets plenty of credit. Who cares what people outside of metal think? thats what its about. The mainstream audiences will act like they cared about him the whole time just like they did with dimebag...after he died.

  • pretty awesome

  • fucking awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the most amazing halford performances ive ever seen

  • this is a good cover of dio from his friend halford , this video was deleted before and i reposted
