Geez people. The doctor in the video never said he was using this method to induce someone that didn't need it. Sometimes induction can save both the mother's and baby's life. I was over due and had oligohydramnios. I had my membranes stripped and this cause me to go into labor within 4 hours. I would never want to have Pitocin because there is much more harmful risks and a higher chance of needing an Epidural. This video is educational and is not encouraging unnecessary induction.
@lovins88 Wow I am overdue to. The doctor gave me the choice of inducing my labor today but my partner and are going to wait 1 more week. Doc said if by next monday im still pregnant for sure inducing will occur. :( What happens if its overdue
@SOLISyAUILAR2012 I think what the doctor is worrying about is the baby's size. If the baby continues to grow it will be harder for you to deliver the baby and it will hurt the baby's growth and position. I would try walking a ton, and I know this sounds crazy but nipple stimulation works too (you can Google how to do it) the next best thing would be to strip the membranes because it isn't dangerous for the baby. How far along are you?
Pregnancy 'Health' Guru?! Since when is it healthy to try and make baby come out before s/he's ready?! Induction should be ILLEGAL unless a PROVABLE medical emergency arises. Otherwise, leave baby and Mom alone for nature to take its' course, the same way millions of babies were born before medical intervention became a 'life saver'. Just Mom going to the hospital starts the UCOI (unnecessary chain of interventions) that often leads to the unnecesarean. This video makes me sick >:(
@LadyLeprechan women died alot back in the day due to birth and timing. they only induce you if its necessary they dont do it when ever. its not like the women didnt agree to it.
