  • i remember hearing this song for the first time while watching this gig, at blew my fucking head off!

  • Simon Jones...... The Best.!

  • this IS music

  • Why is he singing "Jesus gonna save me" in this version? The original lyric was "Jesus never saved me

He'll never save you too, and you know!"

Fucked up the whole song. Did Richard sell out and become born again or what?

  • @anwiyayoukhanna

    Couldn't. agree. more.

  • Cocaine before the gig it seems.

  • Interesting.

  • the performance at v was slightly better. the intro is class

  • If God likes listening to music, it means he loves The Verve :D

  • THIS IS MUSIC!!!!

  • Top tune, Top band, Nice to know when its over.

    RIP The Vereve.

  • great song..was such a great night..

  • "Finding myself used to be hard

But now I see the light

    If love is a drug

    Then I don't need it"

  • i like the new lyrics

  • this is music

  • this is music

  • Ashcroft knows were in the end times, he trying to help everyone get right with Jesus before its too late

  • You are wrong...

    Ashcroft is telling YOU this:

    Jesus never saved me

He'll never save you too, and you know!

I've got a little sticker on the back of my boot

    "THIS IS MUSIC!"

So it was already too late before he wrote this song. :)

Fact is that ashcroft is our new god.

  • he says "jesus gonna save you" in this live version but the correct lyrics are what you posted above.

  • I think he's Christian now, listen to Ashcroft's new song "Are you Ready?". It's pretty preachy about Jesus.

  • @theObserver1000 yeah maun!!!anyone listening walks away knowing it

  • hey damon albarn and graham coxon also rock

  • I managed to get pretty close to the stage. I enjoyed this song, great opener.

  • Ian Brown the father,

    Liam Gallagher the son

    And Richard Ashcroft the spirit.

    The Holy Trinity of Britpop

  • John Squire the Father's wife,

Noel Gallagher the son's big brother,

    Nick McCabe the spirit level.

    The holy Ghost of Britrock

  • @darragh47 all northern hero,s maun!!!

  • @darragh47 lool so true

  • @darragh47 Mate none of those were britpop!!! Britpop was shi*e!!

  • @delidan77 ?

  • Live is better than studio version! No question on this one.

  • Agreed, it's the atmosphere aswell.

  • Why oh why did he change the lyrics about jesus? That seriously suckss.

  • Jesus did save him.

  • Tell Richard that! If Jesus did save him that is his business. At Oxegen they came out to Christian music and he rarely seems to sing "Jesus never saved me" live anymore. Good luck to the fella.

  • I'm glad they change the lyrics, it kinda bothered me before the way it was, don't say it sucks coz many ppl think otherwise

  • Finding myself used to be hard

But now, I see the light

    If love is a drug

    Then I don't need it..

  • I think you have got the words completely wrong for this bit

  • No I don't. I love this song and have the words memorized. Just googled it and the words are right..

  • shit sorry i was thinking about the bit that he sings in the end, but he misses it live, you know the bit, Jesus never saves me...

  • Gottcha !

  • slick.

  • verve supersonic-supernova-definatley fookin better!!!!

  • 1:57 :))) I love u, RIchard.

  • fuckin' great!!

  • been on the shelve for too long???

  • does this seem like a band that has been broken up for nearly 9 years !?!?

    they are SPOT ON !

    WOW !!!!

  • verve like a fookin freight train ,ashcroft a northern poet, music is power!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i fucking love, and i mean love! this riff

  • wuuaaaaaaaaa

  • I saw Verve Live recently @ V festival 2008, and they are amazing.Ashcroft's performance was incredible!!;)) Best live band ever!! They r Leagues above the crap we hear 2day!!

  • I hope they tour the U.S. again... so I can have a chance to see them...

  • THIS IS MUSIC!

  • Saw 'em at Coachella, and was blown away; easily the best show I've EVER seen. But this performance blows it out out the water.

The crowd looks %120 more into it (being perhaps that The Verve hail from the UK, and Glastonbury seems like more of a homecoming than playing to a bunch of fucking drones in the U.S., where I'm unfortunately from...)

EVERYTHING about this show is fucking top. Wish I coulda seen it. Lucky Brits!

  • i was there tooo!!! best time of my life... fuck were im at its were ive been|!!

  • i was there!!!

fuckin brlliant live from one of the best band in the world!!!!

  • THIS IS MUSIC!

  • Ashcroft is like jesus or something!? No he is better than that, he is a f**king god! One of the greatest frontman ever! And when he is on form like that then he may well just be the best there is. Only Liam Gallagher can match him.

    This is music!

  • liam gallagher could never match ashcroft

hes in a league of his own

  • I agree, Liam could learn a thing or two from Richard. Richard is a far better front man than Liam could ever be. Liam is just a cave man where as Ashcroft has charisma, intelligence and wit.

  • i'm not disagreeing with that overall but liam isn't a cave man. He might be thick sometimes but he does have a lot of wit. And Noel has more (:

  • Richard is also original, doesn't mimic ian brown or lennon

  • what does that mean? are ya talking about liam gallagher? or i just, think so, liam had a great voice, a that can't be denieed, mate.

  • Saw these at Oxegen,Chose them over manic street preachers, Justice or The prodigy.. wat an experience, Ashcroft is a proper frontman, Sent chils down my spine.. THIS IS MUSIC!!! :)

  • yep... this is music

  • good god I'm in tears...seen this beautitiful band 4 times...they are so on form here,,,if anyone can name a better band...come on

  • great!

  • No Sit and Wonder was not aired........but a great version is here from Coachella. I think Richard has found the Lord!.... He always wore a cross, but now " Jesus Gonna Save Me...?" Could they become the new contemporary christian rock band of the world.? LOL They drop f*ckin bombs, man! Met them in Toronto....Nick is a great guy, all were super cool. Only wish they'd played Six O'Clock

  • Music Saves

  • I was just wondering that....

  • was sit and wonder aired on tv because it seems like everyone posted all the other songs performed except for sit and wonder.

  • what Jesus is gonna save him? wow :D

  • jeeez hes so pumpt up.. wow must feel amazin to be back with a crowd like Glastonbury!! Love it!! Avit!!

  • So wish i could have seen this live, Ashcroft looked really up for it.

  • utterly amazing!! best band ever

  • "Stood at the top of the hill over my town..i was found"

The Verve are legendary gonna see them live in about a week!

  • Love is a drug and i dont need it!!
