  • Agree with all advocates of safety commenting here. I got to enjoy many years of the Knoxville Raceway's unparalleled crew, so I would say sprint cars should only race where there are 20 or so strategically placed first responders in full fire gear. As far as money is concerned, I find it hard to read about money concerns when we're talking life and death. Go Schatzy best in the world right now, and Wolfie did the right thing.

  • doug wolfgang fryed 30 years ago ,and you answer is 'they do the best they can with what they are given-give them what they require before someone dies.Two layer driving suit offers less than30 seconds of protection,start with that fact.Race tracks and promoters spend more effort to protect themseves from 'legal' reprocusions than they do protecting drivers...last time I was on fire I drove to the fire crew,hopped out and had to tell the fire crew to out the fire under my car....

  • so then i suggest you drive your fuckin ass to every single fucking track, give every single promoter unlimited money to buy the fire crew every single fuckin piece of equipment they need. im sorry for wolfgang, but that is my answer, they couldnt get there any faster, damn right bk was there in 10 seconds schatz landed fuckin 20 feet from him. iff you watch the video there were still cars driving round the track. so fuck off grow a pair and stop ragging on the fire crew, rag on the promoter.

  • Your attitude is exactly the problem...instead of saying 'how could we respond quicker ' you make lame excuses...why not have a competent safety crew,well equiped on each end of the track ready to respond

  • the fire crew is in the middle of the infield on foot. the drivers that HELPED put the fire out were standing directly behind where the crash happened, i was standing there as well. they were lucky enough to be standing next to a fire extinguisher. the fire crew cant fly there, they are on foor so before you hammer them fucking shut up and realize that they do the best with what they are given.

  • Padjen killed two great racetracks. His officials suck, definitely incuding his flagmen, and you can't see the signal lights at either track. Padjen can kiss my a**.

  • i race non wing cars at this track every friday ha funny thing is the officials didnt even get to the car for twenty seconds... those are other drivers putting that fire out....i was standing behind the pit wall

  • i race mini sprints and at all the tracks iv been to they have suckish fire defence and that shows it.. it took almost 30 seconds to put the fire out. thats sad.

  • its beacause the alchol you cant put it out you have to try to control it then let it burn up
