@MrMozarti OIf course he was german...also in that time most german musicians used to study with Bach's music as lessons and etudes, first because they make a perfect use of all the technics used at that time and seccond because the german school (again mozart was german). I found the music of Bach and Vivaldi with equal greatness and awesomeness... I can not see why Vivaldi should be inferior just because Mozart studied Bach's music.
I would definitely give everything to be able to go back in time, to those days! I don't like the era I am living at. Most of the music from now is ridiculous; lack of creativity, lack of many things, I must say!. Just my thoughts and observations throughout my life.
@Scorpiusgrl A group I have fallen in love with that is quite amazing is Bond. It's a four member group - all beyond talented women - and all strings. I can't remember if it is 1 cello, 1 viola, 2 violins, or 1 cello, 2 violas, 1 violin. But nonetheless! Check them out! I think you will appreciate them! Not much like Bond in my opinion!!
Music hasn't lost creativity.... rather intelligence. The shame of it....... Tis rather an ill feeling when I have dedicated much of my life to composition that will never see the the light of day because I haven't got any bitches degrading themselves to a beat. Ah well, I think I will cobble my loses over pipe of the finest green and listen to my own treasures. Peace out
Here we reach as close to a universal language as we can get. I can't, in all sincerity, imagine my life without having Vivaldi's music to give me little tastes of the divine
I love the dynamics. Vivaldi is amazing. His music keeps me playing the violin. Otherwise I would have quit last year. We have a prodegy in my class. His name is Jamie. He an amazing violinist!
VIBaldi stinks. i'm kidding. this guy is truly amazing. nowadays we have kids that are my age(younnger even) who blow pieces like this out of the water. the prodigies. it's pieces like this that make me want to keep playing. big ups to classical genius
I do not think Enrico Onofri need listen to Fabio Biondi´s recordings!! To use or not fermatas won't increase drama; it is phrasing what makes it!! Onofri's is simply one of most natural phrasings for Vivaldi you can find among violinists.
Vivaldi never ceases to amaze me. This is epic, beautiful, breathtaking, you name it, that's what this is. Bach may have been mind bogglingly technical but Vivaldi has the feeling and the emotion that make his pieces... masterpieces.
Sincerely, I love Bach's music as much as I love Vivaldi's. I do not see opposition between these composers but a perfect complement to the occasion. Bach has also feeling and emotion but he develops into another dimention.

@Amelie578 It is Enrico Onofri. The greatest master of baroque violin since Vivaldi himself :)

The arpeggiated passages are reminiscent of the other Westhoff video.

I completely agree. His melodies are lyrical and unique. His four seasons to me, are impressionistic.
