While I'm glad Sesame Street didn't change the song, I don't really care much for this modernized video when compared with the classic. It just looks like Sesame Street is trying to emulate Toy Story (can't say I'd blame them with the success of the franchise).
There is no substitue for the original video; makes me want a SkyRail set (Quercetti). Maybe that's what Sesame Street should have done: keep the original pinball design, and CGI that instead of trying to copy Toy Story.
I like the original elements tied in with a fresh, new look and feel to one of Sesame Street's timeless classics. Pretty good. Although I'm still shaking my head at the remade Ladybug Picnic. Absolutely horrible in it's new format.
Now, I'm 31, I grew up with Sesame Street... and for once I actually think this is an improvement. For one thing, it's the original music, not a limp re-recording of the song we all know and love.
And the other thing... let's face it, pinball is a dead art form that no kid can relate to. I didn't know what the pinball version was as a kid-- no pinball game I ever saw looked like that, so I didn't make the connection! But every kid can understand this.
Pinball's not dead mate... just saying. It's actually on the up-swing with several new companies currently designing pins. The demographic that collect new and restore older pins is growing every year!
But your point about kids today not easily relating to pinball is certainly sound... which is a bummer.

Did they think kids today wouldn't understand pinball machines or something? A ball rolling around a room isn't anywhere near as compelling as an increasingly elaborate pinball machine.
Nice to see an old favorite get an update like this. CG all the way even but keeping a retrocartoonish feel. Very nice! Oh I'll never get this sog out of my had now! ;)
This is pretty cool! It brings more of a timelessness to the piece than the original quasi-Peter-Max looking illustrations of the originals, which I recognized as looking very dated even as a child in the early eighties. I don't like the new sound effects, though, they kind of interfere with the music.
Okay, I remember the original very well. Do I like it better than this one? I like BOTH the old and the new--especially since they kept the old song...and the stop-motion filming is just as trippy as the old-school animation from back in the day...what's old and new combined suits my retro-vibe just fine! :-D
I can give it a thumbs-up because they didn't dump the song. But it's a shame they think they have to do a new video to entertain today's kids. I hope they don't re-do #11.
Well, at least they kept the music and didn't remix it into rap crap like they did with the THEME SONG. If you think this is bad, look at the new Electric Company. You won't even recognize it, I promise.
i like that you used the original song... but you can't change the original pinball! What's the point of a random ball moving around the room? none... at least in the pinball machine, there was a reason for the pinball moving
Not as good as the original pinball--the audio was stickily put together, and (speaking of sticky) could they have done something other than claymation?!
Don't worry, old schoolers, this is a nice homage to the original we used to watch. Also, stop motion is an untapped resource for entertainment these days and this was well done. The rocket smoke rocked!!
There is nothing creative, colorful, interesting about this new take on the classic Pinball number series. Why mess with the classic? Today's kids get it and don't need a dumbed-down, softened version.
Blocks? A jack-in-the-box? Could you be any more cliche?
It's like a room decorated by Potterybarn Kids. So call it Pottery #12.
I can't even say "Nice try on this new version". It is rather soul-less and doesn't have the old school bounce and charm. And, whilst I'm kvetching, I think Elmo needs his own show. ..
This is good. A little fast for young ones, limit the time they see this much fast flashing. BUt in moderation, it is good. Just limit the fast and flashing.
As I'm watching this, my five year old runs up and says "I love this!!....Hey...this is a different one." Yes, even today's kids know which is better. :)
I dunno why people are complaining so much. I think that while its true the original WAS better, this is a fine piece none-the-less. It also kind of reminds me of PeeWee's playhouse (which is never a bad thing)
Still amazed that sesame street doesn't get more views. Lately their videos have been great on here.. Why not remake it? The old one was good and still is yet not be as interesting to all audiences when they are used to more cgi related shows/movies.
This would've been a bit better if the cat's tail actually hit the ball to start it off. But I'm just nitpicking because this could never compare to my nostalgic memories, lol.

I don't mind them remaking old shorts - an HD Pinball Number Count with more vibrant graphics would be great - but don't just, like, gut them and take away all the cool parts.
This is more like Clean Up Your Room Already Number Count.
@eskilla: You read my mind; with no pinball machine in sight, the Workshop guys should have called this remake "Playroom #12" or somethng similar. If they'd had enough action to leave the audio track uncut, it might have worked better too...
Oh my god. This is one of the few things i remembered from the original series when I was 3. And of course Family Guy remaking it with Stewie. Fantastic! Im glad they reuse a lot of classics.
Clearly comes up short compared to the original. But I'm happy they kept the song.

this is just so literal. Big deal, a ball rolling through a kids room.
The old one was cool because it all happened in some weird alternate dimension were nothing had to make sense but was vaguely related to pinball.
Maybe the creators need to take drugs like they did in the 70s.
