  • outstanding Posts...thank you for sharing them!!

  • "Light at the end of the Tunnel" ....IS also very common. It is NOT a myth, because Dannion Brinkley experienced it. JZ Knight experiences it all the time, etc.

  • Light is experienced by the vast majority of near-death experiencers. The tunnel component is not. It is a myth in the sense that we think it is a signature feature, when, in actuality, that is not so. You can trace the suddenness of people reporting this feature back to when the media sensationalized Raymond Moodys first book. Cont...

  • ...Cont. Before then, only 9% of the people in the United States ever spoke of any such thing. Today, in my research base, it is a little less than a third. In most of the countries of this world no one ever mentions or claims any such thing. I am aware of JZ Knights claim. That is how it is for her. Just because such an occurrence happens to her, does not mean it does for others or even should. As far as Dannion Brinkley is concerned, I do not consider him a researcher. Cont...

  • ...Cont. He did help Raymond Moody for a period of time and he is aware of early research results in the field. But Dannion has his own path to walk and near-death research is not part of that path. He is a sensational public speaker and motivator, and has a kind heart. Blessings, PMH

  • Very interesting. On the one hand, the experiences of NDE's seem just too good to be true in this world with all of its misery...On the other hand, there are many experiences documented with a lot of consistency and evidence of conscienceness going on when people are in a coma or virtually dead, though later revived.

  • Right. But remember, not all near-death experiences are pleasant. They are all instructive, however, of who we are as human beings, what we do with our lives, the consequences of our life choices, and the promise of a second chance and a better world. They are very inspiring, especially when you think in terms of history and the importance of the spiritual path. Blessings, PMH

  • Okay but reading your work I conclude that only 1 out of 6 or 7 NDE's are unpleasant and even these serve to facilitate or even enable us to get to 'heaven'(is that a correct word for it?)ultimately. Again, I think the evidence that NDE's are real experiences is overwhelming, but on the other hand my intuition tells me it may be 'too good to be true'.

  • In my research base one out of seven experiences are the unpleasant or frightening near-death episode. In the work of Dr. Maurice Rawlings, it was one out of five. I suspect that the figure is much higher, perhaps a third, but these experiencers will not talk about such episodes. Either they are embarrassed to, are afraid of any guilt associated with it, or want to avoid any further negativity, or they just plain don't want to talk about it. Who knows. Cont.

  • Cont. Perhaps the reason why differs with each person. I only know there are many more than were originally reported.

There is no longer any question that near-death experiences are real, and so is the pattern of physiological and psychological aftereffects which follow. The entire field of study has taken a major shift in the last two years. Be certain to read "The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences" to learn more about how the field has changed and why.

    Many blessings, PMH
