A firefighter is a firefighter all I see on youtube videos is "Oh there volunteer they dont know anything" or "oh they r career they sit on their asses" It doesnt matter a firefighter is gunna have the guy in front of theirs back no matter what .

@MrChucktbags Funny how its the chiefs helmet and the chief is a paid Technician in DC... And for the rest of you that don't know DCFD does a 24 on 24 off 24 on 72 off shift... I know of a few people that do their 24 on at pg 24 off at 33 24 back at dcfd then go to wherever they are from for their 72... So put that on for size....
@excap Lets see here...how many calls do they get every year? 1000+. Do they get the job done? Yes. Do they get serious once on scene and responding? HECK YES! Every Fire Company does. When your at the House for 24 hours straight (Yes, they are Volunteer but have Live-Ins or whatever they are called) do you expect them to sit there with thier thumbs up their butts staring at wall? Yeah..think not!
@excap these guys are BADASS. Just cause they do stuff different does'nt make your way any better. In my book untill fire takes a more passive approach on destroying life and property, Firefighters EVERYWHERE should get just as aggressive as it does!
Big fan of Kentland. I've watched quite a few vids, and went on the website. It said you guys do ride-alongs or something along those lines. Would they take an International ride-along? Canadian Volunteer Firefighter. If someone could fill me in on the situation? Thanks

i should have clarified......thats between 3 pieces of equipment......we did 13874 calls last year....bewteen our stations(6).....and i aint smoking nothing buddy......

so your telling me with all that you wouldnt have the tax base to have a paid department, and the old argument...why for free when you could get paid....sets a bad example for smaller communities who do have a paid dept....mayors and councils see that and say HAY! why cant you do that for free!!!!!!!
why "live-ins" if its 100% volly....how do you do that...
and let me tell you 1 year there aint like 5 years on my Dept. we run 40+ a day...over 1200 a month...comon...i respect whats going on here...but dont make it out to be the mecca of Firefighting...be safe god bless
i want what this guy is smokin 1200 calls a month thats like 14,400 calls a year there is no way one station runs that a year and anyway kentland is the ranked #8 busyist engine co. in the us
look it up dude. same with my dept Rockville VFD (MD)... well over 1000 calls a month. And Kentland is no longer "100% Volunteer" since they added career staffing for the Ambo
