Everyone should learn about United Nations Agenda 21. "Social Justice" and redistribution of wealth sounds cool to American liberals. Wait until they find that their money is not being redistributed in America, but to other countries. Is that really what they want? I don't think so. Remember the blacks waiting in line for their "Obama money?" They really thought redistribution of wealth was coming to them. People on welfare in America are richer than many people in 3rd world countries.
thoriablades?? are you in a mental instition?are you asking me if I'm aware of pres Lincoln? the history of my own country?did you even understand my post?I said NOBODY the US or otherwise can "FIX" a third world country, they have to want to fix themselves,I see your from the UK certainly you guys have no blood on your hands hahahaah please tell me where this country called utopia that u dream of is?
BULL,pick a country any country to improve say Iraq or Afganistan,we can go there SHOW them how to build a sucsessfull nation and they will shoot you! a people cannot change unless they want to" fact" how old is India and africa why cannot they do what the US has done in only 200 years!! Fix Mexico! cant be done just because some people hear want to feel better about themselves.
Oh like the US did in Vietnam? Like in Afghanistahn before the 1979 revolution? (which for the record was incredibly popular amongst the population)
When the US imports it's version of 'democracy' it WON'T work because America is too different to foreign cultures to be compatable! Your verson of how to run a country has always been seen by almost all US Presidents as being superior to others therefore any country that isn't like America is inferior. Essentially racist dollar deplomacy.
Oh and before you start coming out to defend your great nation let me give you some facts.
It took until the 16th president of the US before any law abolishing slavery was even considered! (one of the few Presidents I admire)
And how many before Civil Rights laws were considered? 33. And when Truman tried his OWN party for the most part criticised him heavily! And how many presidents did it take to have one in of a African-American orgin? 43 before Obama.

Now I know firsthand what the Palestinians go through.
You are right, the world is not fair but that doesn't mean everyone should have an equal opportunity to have the best job in the world. In an optimal world, The majority of people would get blue-collar jobs (farmers, woodsmen, rangers) and three square meals a day in a Socialist Democracy (face it: Capitalism teaches people that in order to succeed in life: you have to embrace the Seven Deadly Sins).
You really should invest 10 minutes and find out what social justice is really about. I'm not kidding. I used a lot of references. Research truth, don't buy into the propaganda.
Great video, and its very true that for some life will not hold so many choices, i mean we can't choose the circumstances of our birth right? but we can choose how we live our lives and do the best we can with what we have. i guess we all have a sacred obligation to make it a better world for our kids and to also prepare them to face all the dirt life will probably throw at them
It's well to remember that many governments of poor nations are extremely corrupt and oppressive - and that charity can be stolen or wasted. Also, there is no collective 'we' - I don't owe anybody anything. It's not in my interest for people to die of starvation but this video is insulting.
Actually, you bring up a good idea: A true multi-millionaire philanthropist would spend his money on a private army so he can liberate an impoverished nation so that he can construct a whole bunch of greenhouses which give a renewable source of food without being impeded by corrupt governments.
No... 'Lets be aware that money and power are generated by the few' and that there is no money 'of the world'. Furthermore, the developed nations didn't develop by being altruistic. Yes, there was exploitation, but there was also (and still is) innovation, free enquiry, vision and courage - and a lot more that we don't have time for here. than just wasted or stolen, as with many governments of under developed nations.
Athough I do feel horrible watching this video, I also feel that people need to earn there own money and they all have a choice. That teenager had a choice to get pregnant at 17. The poor child had a choice not to get a loan when going to college. Yah know I'm 14 and in my school I see kids that choose to fail and I know that I would not want these kind of slacker people earning the same amount of money that I am even though I worked alot harder for it. It's telling kids my age that that is okay
Do you really believe people have equal opportunity? Yes I do believe there is opportunities available, I do not believe the pursuit for these opportunities are equal.
We do not talk directly of economic justice because it has a bad name after the disastrous failure and atrocities of Communism in the Soviet Union. To most economic justice merely means the uncritical condemnation of all wealth whether it is earned or not. Without making this distinction we are wide open to valid criticism from those who are honest and do earn their wealth. Labor and capital earn their rewards. The reward to land is wholly unearned because land value is created by the community.
It's not fair that the person who quits high school does not make the same as the person who goes to college, then medical school, then an internship, then becomes a doctor should make more money than that poor kid who quit school. We need a world where those that have no skills and are not that intelligent make the same as those that are. The girl who gets pregnant at 17 should make the same as the girl who goes to medical school. Those that can't read should make the same as those that can't.
Dear Draghollow, I can understand why your name has hollow in it. You truly sound hollow. You were unable to decipher the fact that the poor little kid probably didn't have the chance to go to school, and not because he dropped out of school. The world would be worse off with more people like you, but I'm glad that there are good people left in the world. How do you wan't to be remembered? Think about that hollow fellow.
By the way, this is one of the most thoughtful videos on Youtube.
You can be Conservite or Liberal and still have basic human compassion. If we (Western World) all chipped in a hundred bucks a month NO ONE IN THE WORLD would go hungry!
If I only had one hundred bucks to spare! I wish I could give more, I have a B.S. from PSU in Psych got hurt& have a workman's comp litigation for medical on my hands. I plan to go further with education but the system is flawed...we have injustices here to solve before we can help others. We need to get our country in order. Be nice if we had a couple extra bucks a month instead of living pay check to pay check. It should be the 1% that owns the 50% of America's wealth to figure it out.
Sorry, maybe I'm being a bit too harsh. There is bound to be some disagreement on social justice stuff. Some diversity of opinion should be acceptable.
It is kinda nice, but I think that each person has a different idea of what social justice is. In gender issues, Western men get the short end of the stick. What are the main men's issues? If you don't know, how can you say that they are being addressed? I had other beefs too.
