  • ya no jazz influences in this masterpiece .. i call it .. hmm .. industrial electronic (?) in amon tobins way oft art .. he´s so unique and to nobody comparable !!! the monthly joints are one of my prefered records of him .. the 16 bit surge remix also blows my monitors .. i´m so thankfull that there is mr tobin .. the only sad thing is that i can´t find this on cd and i´m an addictive collector ^^ .. "just" got the vinyl *thx so much for this up !!!

  • J'adore!

  • What album is this from?

  • @mrguano7

Monthly Joints Series- it's a really great album!

  • ...but nice

  • glitch!

  • outerspacemusic

  • Unable to be classified. Just fucking fantastic noises.

  • Where can I get this?

  • Zarpado!!!

  • Whudehusdfh sorry, had to whipe off the jizz that came outta my ears.

  • samba??

  • To me I think this is produced by Noisia more than Amon Tobin.

  • @Phroggystyle There definitely are a lot of jazz influences in his music, haha. Probably not very apparent in this song, but if you listen to his album Out From Out Where you'll hear a lot more jazz elements infused with trip-hop. :)

  • Who's afraid of the Art of Noise?

  • I don't think this have anything to do with jazz, and I listen to jazz and blues a lot.

  • @stickmister321 Yeah, this song not so much. His albums Supermodified and Out From Out Where have a far clearer, dark and jazzy feel in them.

  • warning music from the future may cause your mind to be blown and or fucked

  • watching the F1 grand prix with that track in the background

  • @Phroggystyle Supermodified and Bricolage have a very very jazzy sound to them.

  • @Phroggystyle

    I would agree

  • Whatever it is it's boring

  • @Phroggystyle a lot of his music drips jazz. The albums "Supermodified" and "Permutation" are great examples!

  • i believe the term is turntablism. reconfiguring existing music into something new. of course there will be a lot of other possible categorizations in this case...

  • why is it sooo perfect?

  • Please just call it great music !!! It goes from all styles to all styles !!! We dont need categorization here just open ur ears wide !!! Genius dont need appartenance to style thank u !!!

  • @antiotio

    don´t only open our ears.

open our mind and soul an let it float in

  • @antiotio

don´t just open our ears, open our soul and our mind to let it float in

  • Masterpiece.

  • what kind of "instrumenst" he is using? anyone knows? some synths or programs? pls help.

  • I usually don't like this kind of music, but this is freaking awesome! :]

  • @Phroggystyle Yeah you're right but like I said it's a mix of various music types ;p and I think jazz is included in.

  • @zhoraboss Amon's music used to include a lot of Jazz, but not really in that track.

  • @zhoraboss jazz is certainly there in his older stuff.............i like every album to date!

  • @zhoraboss

his earlier songs are made out of old jazz vinyls he heard

and with different electronic modification he made this unbelievable sounds

i think its trip-hop acid jazz breakbeat drum&bass or something XD

  • @zhoraboss

    I would agree

  • awesomness

  • mixture between DUB~ELECTRO~FUCKERY....... ssssick!

  • i once gave amon a dank nug and a hug :P

  • Julius F'ing Caesar!!!!!!!!This is the only "monthly joint" I'll ever need!!!!

  • Jesus Christ ! i was about to smoke a bowl but instead the sound smoked me...

  • Nice.

  • "hello and thanks for the encouragement : ) the photo's are of paintings by the talented julie ouelett. I will post a link to her site once it's up and running but in the meantime if anyone is interested in the original artwork let scott know. there will be a photo of her work accompanying each of the monthly joints and if we see there is enough of a demand for prints we will have some made."

quoted from the Amon Tobin boards concerning the montly joint photos

  • the beat rocks. has a feel of controlled randomness

  • sound engineering is dope. all those crispy, spacey, 3D sounds...

  • seriously he's the master of the fucking universe when it comes to bad ass beats you just could never expect. my all time favourite

  • i like his random album artworks.. they seem to be ... mh.... random xD

  • this is not an album. The Monthly Joints were released on his official website, and the artwork used in this video is probably made by some random fan. (it's a pic of one of the "creatures" of his websites though)

  • uhm, there's consistency in all this apparently random artworks :-)

  • WHOW my brains almost Exploded COOL XD

  • One of the most innovative artists by now.

  • @merikat I only disagree cuz he=top

  • @merikat

He should win many MTV awards. MTV is missing out. Amon Tobin is my favorite artist of all time along with Bong Ra, Distance, Enduser

  • @merikat Has been, since the day he began.

  • amon tobin style....

  • What style of music is that??? it's fcuking Amazing !!

  • He's saying that he has his own style of music :P but it's a mix of trip-hop,jazz and breakbeat.

  • He plays his music on the most random things. :o

  • Almost Dubstep as well.

  • @zhoraboss Well think about it. If i poop and the splash makes a sertain sound, someone can come and put that sound in a category. "That was a dubstep/salsa fusion splash" Everything can be categorized. He does have his own style. The fact that it can be named doesnt make it less unique

  • @zhoraboss it was described to me as Drum and Bass but i think it doesn't do it justice.

  • @zhoraboss glitch hop ;o

  • @zhoraboss Don't forget electronica =]

  • it's a mix of jazz, idm, drum n bass, breakbeat, trip hop, ambient, jazz, dancehall and dubstep stuff (more recently), film score and cinematic music and foley room had some almost post rocky influnces in there....i reckon it's a bit too varied to be categorised

  • @zhoraboss so wouldnt that make it his own style.......? lmfao

  • @zhoraboss It's his own.

  • @zhoraboss I don't hear any Jazz.

  • Try artists on ninja tune, voda and warp if you like this. Out from Out Where is an excellent Amon Tobin album, so is Foley Room.... Good place to start....

  • @duelx24 it called glitch hop, look up opiuo for some morre nice stuff!

  • @duelx24 it's amon tobin music.

  • @duelx24 What style is it? The kind that blows your fuckin mind.

  • @duelx24

Listen Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Soundtrack, Its all from amon tobin

  • @duelx24 Intelligent. Dance. Music

  • @duelx24 Amon Tobin is his own genre ;)

  • this guy's amazing
