  • I got one when i was 9 , im 14 now , my dads friend gave it to me for my B-Day , i loved it so hard that i started dirtbiking ;D

  • Got to love a Passola :D

I bought one for my first scooter when I was 17(14 years ago), and I still have it. I'm planning a full restoration shortly. My best mate had a Honda Vision. He would have me off the line, but when he got bogged down by his restrictor (30 mph), my Passola would fly past him doing over 45mph (well off the clock lol)

I remember taking out some lairy lad on his new Typhoon on the way to college one morning. He was giving it large, so I took him out doing about 50mph LOL

  • I had a yellow '81 one and a gold 84 one. Called Matilda and Myrtle. Yellow one had "Turbo" badges on! :D The earlier ones were better and faster - my '81 one had been 'tampered' with slightly and could do 45mph - It would eat those little scrambler bikes for breakfast - much to their embarrassment,

  • Absolutley ace ! Had a brand new Yellow Passola in August 1980 aged 16 as My first scooter. Remember it was 5mph faster than My mates Suzuki FZ50 & a lot smoother to ride. This and My suzuki roadie were the best mopeds I owned. My Honda Melody was crap in comparison and i soon got rid of it.

Now own a SYM 250 voyager but still have a soft spot for Passolas & Roadies etc.

  • This was my first bike. 1982 or thereabouts. Bought it with 200 km on the clock. Had a 2 speed automatic if I remember not CVT like they had now. Never wanted to kick back to first.

  • i got one for free, the rims and grey plastics have been respreyed blue.

  • got a free one of these the other day, runs and all but needs a fair bit of bodywork and an electrical overhaul,

do they have 1 gear or is that a shift i heard?

  • Weeder2 Just twist and go!!!!

  • @weeder2

The UK (and some European) Passola's had a two speed gearbox. They had two centrifugal clutches controlling the two gears. The second clutch would come in at approx. 3500 - 4000rpm IIRC. All other Passola's in other countries had a single speed transmission.

  • I really won't a yellow Yamaha Passola.. So much oldschool 80's..

My uncle had one once :P

  • yep 2-stroke forever :)

  • Nice, I see you have more in the garage too!! Coolness!
