  • Dude I have just spent hours trying to tie a tie like this, I had it all envisioned in my head, and lo and behold, I go on youtube to see what other knots there are out there and you beat me to it. Its honestly exactly what I've been trying to do. So much for getting credit for it huh?

  • its like an atlantic, but with a few cross overs.

  • U r a fucking beauty. SIck knot

  • if you left it at 2 overlaps, it woulda been an atlantic/ edeity knot

  • Look's alot like the atlantic knot, but nice knot ;)

  • Hey man, awesome knot, I like this one better than the flipped windsor (matrix). I think I'll prefer to secure the end with a pin too. Thanks heaps and I'll be sure to remember the name for when I teach other people :D

  • ddue thats fucking hard hahah

  • this was shown in the matrix reloaded, morpheus was wearing it, the only difference is you went over it twice. sorry bud, it was invented b4 you thought of it.

  • If you carefully take it off you'll notice the small pocket at the back. You could fold it in half and tuck it right in. It may look a little off but it will probably be sturdier than just raping it around the neck lace. Or if you like to keep the symmetry AND the sturdiness you could add a safety pin or something like that.

  • Or a piece of scotch tape, super glue, etc.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • That was even more ridiculous than the purported 16-move double windsor, but it turned out quite nice!

  • This was a pretty fun knot to try, and it's easy once you get the hang of it. I'll definitely be wearing my ties like this in future. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • I agree that it looks great from the front. It ended up a little mickey mouse at the end there with that extra piece tucked in the neck. Overall i give it 8/10

  • maybe you can help me out,I'm looking for a tie knot which makes the knot stand really out forward. Can be seen in the godfather part I on Tom Hagen(Robert Duval) as he meets Kay Adams. Anyone knows which knot it is?

  • After practicing a bit I realised I make the knot inverted (instead of doing the overlays front-to-back I go back-to-front). Acctually I like my own version better. I have two ways to end it, neither of them perfect but it will do for now.

Maybe I'll try to do a video and post it, but I'm kind of lazy (and lack a camera). However, big thanks! Great tie, great inspiration!

  • Hey, I really liked the tie! Though instead of wrapping the last bit of the narrow end around the "neck piece" I prefer to make a hose like a regular tie. You get a slightly more asymmetrical shape but I kind of like it! Thanks anyway; my new favorite tie (when not wearing a bow-tie).

  • >saw the v mask.

    >expected to be trolled

    >learned to tie a new know

    >was trolled

  • did you steel the headsest from your call centre job?

  • There was absolutely no need for that headset was there? The knot looks tidy but I would feel such a gimp wearing it.

  • We are Anonymous

  • @hchavens lol he ties his tie and then kills multiple people and is unaffected by several bullets

  • did you have to wear a red shirt...

  • Very very handsome knot.. Thanks for sharing it with us! ;-D

  • EFG.. is that you?

  • it's amazing, thanks for sharing

  • I like it.. Tnx dude! :d

  • Anonymus? ::D

  • this is the most amazing knot i have ever seen. thank you! =D

  • efg?

  • hey thanks a lot for the cool knot, looks very sharp and unique indeed, perhaps it will become uber popular and everyone will know the name eldredge!

  • Man Ijust did it, you explain it a little more dificult than it is, its just bring it across from one side to the other like going between trees, if you invented it then your a genius. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Yeah apologies. I'm usually excessively verbose. Bad habit I picked up from the powers that be making me drag my classes out.

  • Brilliant dude, 5 stars and subscribtion

  • that is sweet. I'm so gonna wear it all the time!

  • nice mask...

  • This is such a sickk knot! Im going to use it all the time for work. Thankyou Mr. Eldredge

  • nice knot, actually looks sharp. I have tied it twice so far, with the video. Now, I just need to get it down in memory. Neverthless it is shap and holds fine.

  • I think it's possible to improve this knot. Your sequence starts across the front, behind and up through. Instead of the "up through" step, you could just continue behind and create a loop that will be useful later. From there, go front and inside and create two or three "layers" as you describe. Finally, put the narrow end through the loop you created at the beginning :) It's easier and less tricky. Thank you though for inspiration, your video has inspired me to create various interesting knots

  • i have been trying to tie the Merovingian knot well for a few days and it always ends up looking pretty bad, saw this and thought i woudl try it out. looks great, however when i made mine I added an extra over lap and then was able to take the little end piece and tuck it behindone of the other overlaps (on the back side), the knot looks amazing and it is actually a finished knot that holds together.

  • Sweet. You should post up a video. I've toyed with it a bunch, but I can never manage to knot the thing without throwing of the overlaps.

  • This is a great knot. Even better is the Alexander Knorr version that turns it into an actual knot. But this is great too!

  • Link?

  • Two comments:

#1 Love the knot, and a great demo video. Only thing you might consider for future videos is using a greater contrast between tie and shirt.

#2 You'll need to work a little longer on ridding yourself of the Utah accent. Don't look now, but your Provo is showing.

  • I find further irony in the fact that I've never even been to provo, save a visit to BYU once.....10 years ago.

  • Make the adjustment from the start. Pull those loops tight as you work.

  • Out of interest, is the mask a sign of Anonymous?

  • I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • LMFAO wow. . . .

  • this is awesome. thanks for sharing

    be good

  • JUST AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • this is not a double Ediety knot they have two completly different fx

  • V for Vendeta

  • Really great! Tomorrow I have an important demostration so I'll try this knot.

  • mad v mask i see??? -.o

  • nothing to do with ties, but have you always spoken in the manner you do or was it as a result of professional experience?

  • I've had a few people make mention of my vocal mannerisms.

I am currently a teacher so a good chunk of that has come from my trying to convey excessively complex concepts to complete idiots.

That coupled with several years of phone tech support, my enthusiasm for linguistics, grammar, and mostly my hate of the 'Utah Accent' have all come together to give me the vocal habits I have today.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm a big fan of effective communication. It's validating to be noticed.

  • im going to start using this all the time i think it is sweet

but a little addition there is a loop in the back of the knot tht you can tuck the tail in and it works out perfectly

  • I toyed around with this. I found it would offse one of the top loops though and made it look uneven. Let me know how it goes though.

  • i'm afraid that the tail will come out from yr collar

  • I bobby pin it off. Obvious hazard of tying the knot with the narrow end.

  • it's a double Ediety knot. Sorry dude, not your invention, but very nice looking.

  • I gave credit.

Who would you say invented the Windsor? The idea of something 100% original is a myth. ;)

  • wow this tie is so cool

im going to wear it to school to jazz up my uniform a bit thanks for the demo, 5 start rating lol

  • Cool beans, I'll wear this knot to the next protest. You know what I'm talkin' about. :D

  • Oh yeah...Heh. That on the wall isn't it? Oops.

  • Just a random EFG mask, right? Doesn't mean a thing. It's a popular movie.^_^

  • wow cool design

  • I've tried the Merovingian and the Edeity/Hen-tie, I think this one is the coolest, looks best with a plain colour, especially with a horizontal pattern.

  • that's one cool MF'er.

  • Wow! I really like this knot! Cool beans!

  • coolest tie knot ever! You did a superb job explaining it also.

  • I learned to do Ediety last night. Because the concept is similar, I was able to do this with you my first time over. I like the explanations on your walkthrough. Would this be more for special occasions rather than just everyday dressing up?

  • it's less traditionally formal... but class is simply what ends up being considered class.

the windsor was originally a knot made up to allow poor folks to have a knot which appeared like the four-in-hand knots of the gentry without needing as thick (or expensive) a tie.... but now it's considered as a more formal tie than the four-in-hand.

really, if it looks decent no one is going to boot you from whatever is the occasion or locale.

  • cool I'll give it a try!

  • very nice !

  • Nice! Looks good...

    Good expanation

  • cool knot tnx alot
