  • at least they are using poles and not massive nets. it is still not ideal but better than nothing

  • At 0:42, how is he able to just fling that giant tuna out of the water? It's pretty big and it would take a while to fight

  • This should be the way of fishing for consumerism supply.. Instead of those big trolling nets which wipe out all existance of natural life on the bottom of the ocean. Kill, destroy and ruin the natrual beauty of this earth. The sea is a very precious place!! I guess trolls will b trolls.

  • 2:03 "smack"

  • e una vergogna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i m student of fisheris so like this video

  • like this...................

  • Are those tuna or tuner?

  • Ouch!

  • omg that would be an awesome job

  • You people justifying this to make yourselves feel better about eating animals are idiots.

  • @fadedyouthtube The only idiots are the ones eating sub-par diets that don't include animal meat because of irrational inferiority complexes.

  • @fadedyouthtube Nice. Too bad primitive man ate animals too. And vegetarians lack essential vitamins, minerals, and fats from animals. As long as animals are respected when they're harvested, there is nothing wrong with it.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 That's the problem -- "As long as animals are respected when they're harvested." The thing is: they're not. We live in an overpopulated world where mass commercial factory farming is necessary. Animals cannot be given dignity when people expect to eat animals for lunch and dinner. Yes, primitive man ate animals too...but not at the rate that we eat them. And not nearly the proportions that we do. I suggest you read more about factory farming before you make any judgments.

  • @fadedyouthtube In spearfishing, we respect the animals. We choose the one we want, then put a knife in their brain to kill them humanely and quickly so they don't suffer.

I don't agree with mass commercial fishing. It's wasteful. It's not being good stewards of what we have been given.

Believe me, I know about factory farming and I don't agree with it. It makes animals sick and then we ingest their negative hormones. Organic is the best because animals are respected.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Maybe not all spearfishermen are the same but I've seen in real life spearfishermen killing massive gopher which are uneatable when a certain size just to get a photo and a ego boast to say they caught a fish "so many" kg.

  • @MrDuderivers sure sure.... and there's also bad rod/reel fisherman as well. I'm sure I'm not the only spearo to say they've never seen a spearo break the law or disrespect fish.

  • It's not Tuna, I think it's Flying fish! Amazing how they "unhook" themselves!

  • This is great fishing, good on them fisherman for setting a fine example of how to do things properly.

  • I love fishing, its a way of life, survival. But this just seems violent.

  • This is the way it use to be done in the sixties in most places until greed set in, and more people demanded tuna as well as all other sea food.

  • @hawaii50th This is how I remember tuna being caught in the 60's - before, as you say, greed set in and they started net fishing. It also avoids all bycatch.

  • At 2:04 that fish went out like a BOSS

  • looks fun T_T

  • looks fun

  • used to live here amazing fishing

  • used to life here amazing fishing

  • fish fliper!!!!!!!!!!!!!yeahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Poor fishy :( at the end

  • 2:04 That fish is dead. Died instantly; It's just nerves. :)

  • @ReverseCpi NONSENSE. THAT FISHY FELT EVERY BIT OF THAT BOUNCE!

  • @flukes777 Died instantly.

  • @ReverseCpi 45 seconds of pain for the lil guy.

  • Don,t forget the spainish who hoover the seas empty with there long lines, and they kill all the sharks and turtles at the same time, bloody madness!!!

  • ...@2:04 that fish hit HARD! blood squirting everywhere!...

  • The real solution to the commercial fishing problem is to farm fish. We have cattle, pigs, etc. for food so why not do the same with fish? This way there will still be fish in the ocean which people (like myself) can catch recreationally, and we would still have our food. Simply stopping isn't the answer, farming is.

  • Cool

  • Looks fun

  • 2:00 Breakedancing :p

  • That is a cool technique

  • No sensible person wants people to suffer in poverty; but there must be, and in fact there are ways to let people survive without raping "wild fish stocks". I have witnessed in my short life time the devastation of fish stocks from Florida to Maine billions of Cod as big as your leg GONE. 30 years before that; the herring shoals unimaginably huge were wiped out in California. Americans must realize the days of hell bent for leather are gone. It's time for a new perspective a new aproach. Science

  • its sad but ppl neeed to eat

  • @tripedoutunicorn it is sad and you can eat something else!

  • @ouaet yeah u can but what meats can we eat if we dont killll ?

  • @tripedoutunicorn go vegan (or at least vegetarian) and no animal will die just so you can eat... i don't want to impose my opinion and my life style on anyone, but if you say "oh i'm sorry for the animals, but i have to eat something" - there is a lot of food you can eat and no animal has to die :)

  • @ouaet i no were u comeing from and i only eat some meats but u have 2 u wil be a much more heather person and it has to be done but do think less of it and a nicer way

  • it's dancing for us!

  • RIP tuna. :(

  • couple days ago i took a charter with me and we caught a 738 lbs(335 KGs) Bluefin tuna. check the videos on my channel

  • -eating tuna atm-

  • I like the ocean when it's portray so nice and bluely.

  • GO TUNA GO

  • This is the only commercial fishing i support.

  • Boncey

  • 20 skippys in 2mins 20secs and those are just the ones we saw . i know man has to feed himself and make money in this world but if they stopped commerical fishing and made it recreational fishing only we would all be better off . sad watchn that

  • 2:03 fucking wrecked

  • Comment removed

  • OMG, I release 99.9% of my catches. and buy fish from the market. feel so shxt and sad after watching this. never like eating tuna but quit today. I will eat carp from now on.

  • @longlongge Why ? this is a good way of watching the fish

  • WINNING!!

  • it is horrible

  • @xvtn its not horrible than using dynamite for fishing ...right?

  • 2:04 ''KILL ME!!''

  • I dont mind seeing fish getting caught with fishing line, i just hate those bastards with the big net that scoops up thousands at a time, thats majorly cheating

  • @TheJDub1228 trawler fishing makes frozen seafood, fish sticks and cheap farm food (pigs etc) possible. if you oppose it, you should also stop consuming all that is directly or indirectly reliant on it.

  • @kaschtnsamtdiekarbln That's why I don't eat Tuna or Pork. It's estimated by 2050, the supply of tuna in the ocean will be all depleted.

  • Hawaiian fisherman eat Ahi raw ,dumbshit

  • I'm sorry tuna

  • 2:03 He Gets Fucked Up!

  • who eats tuna??

    Brits and american and japs!!

  • @Rafihyderabadi and me!

  • wonder how many fisherman been smacked in the head

  • Pain and blood

    Poor fish

  • thats some real 3d

  • what do you guys think there fishing level is on runescape?

  • @Thr0ugHxxxStruggle i say about level 76 :P

  • Its great!

  • BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

  • 2:06 tuna fliper !

  • This is the way industrial fishing should be done.

  • Hahaha silly fish

  • This boat has been renovated and renamed Solomon Endeavour, owned and operated by National Fisheries Developments of Solomon Islands. NFD is a Tri Marine Group company.

  • FUCK YOU WHALE AND FUCK YOU DOLPHIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!

  • 2:04 that tune got a seizure poor thing :(

  • can you use nets for catching tuna?

  • this is how it should be done. it preserves our fish. stop netting everything

  • look at 2:00-2:06 its fukn sick

  • @TheDoeMan90 its normal chilax

  • 2:04 SLAM! BLOOD SPRAY! EPILEPTIC FIT!

  • I've DONE THIS!! I did it on a small fishing boat in the Maldives. No reels, just line as long as the fibreglass pole, and a home made hook made from a nail. Very selective method of fishing - quick and tidy - nothing like the indiscriminate killing of unwanted species in nets.

  • TROLOLOLOLO

  • I was eating tuna in sunflower oil while watching this video, so now I should go check some sunflower videos.

  • I like the way they wear their helmets xD

  • 2:00 barrel roll

  • Sad to know that the population of tuna is down by 90%. The U.S. did propose a ban yet Japan and other key EU nations put a ban on it. I wonder what thier excuse will be once these fish are gone.

  • @MadMilitiaMen japan put a ban o n tuna fishing in japanese waters. ive seen commercial tuna boats from japan off the coast of new jersey. they still fish for them.

  • @rmcurtiss on*

  • ...but just don't call PeTA and tell them about this...

  • really, if, as a society, you disregard the needs of the individuals in your society itself, by undermining these as insignificant and base needs, thus ignoring them, then no matter how 'humane' your fishing methods are portrayed to be, most likely, as an economy of that same society, the economic efforts will reflect the basic personality of that same society, namely cruel and inconsiderate. IMHO....

  • Press 9. lol. poor tuna

  • That's great they were able to implement a more selective and less destructive fishing method. An example that could be followed in many fisheries around the world. Awesome footage.

  • Lets kill and eat every last fish...

  • doesnt smackin the fish around like that damage the meat?

  • What a beautifully filmed video

  • Fantastic

  • It's a Banana Tuna Boat

  • This is a far the better way to help sustain stocks! Even one step better is rod and reel no polling. I have preached this for years as it is more sustainable, target species specific and allows the smaller local family fishermen to compete more fairly.

I catch smoke and eat all my own tuna for the year . I never buy netted or longlined.

  • stop tuna netting

  • The complete sequence is so beautiful and that I am lost for words.

  • still raping the ocean,,, dont argu u cunts, im a surfer n eat the fish i catch,

  • LOL i low their landing techniques i think ill try that on my local river this year.

  • Hmmm interesting

  • Why do i think 2:04 is funny? im a horrible person. lol

  • nice bait

  • ZING

  • 2:03 mad shot

  • that look so fucked up for the fish i mean damn they were having seizures and shit.

  • 2:03 lulwut ?

  • rusko version of it is better !!

  • I am watching this first time, without sound... good classic music and some folks would call this modern art...

  • 1:57 Looks like it might have hurt.

  • nice

  • 2:04 poor tuna

  • @SuperPandaren He was like, WTF!! All I wanted was some fish, now I'm on a ship! Oh noooo bloood, It's all over me. I'm gonnaa DIE!!! MAMA MAAAAAAAMMA!! The humans, the HUMANS ARE KILLING US!! MAMAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa...

  • looks fun!!!!

  • Wow, now I'm curious as to how they recast (or whatever the right word is) their rods so quickly. Cos it looks like they just flip the fish over their shoulders, then put the rod straight back out... i'm sure they would need to dig the hooks out?

  • @17825837810 [ Same here. ]

  • fishing at its best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :_ |

I feel like a bastard. lol.

  • Given other methods of harvesting Tuna, this is probably the best. Its species specific unlike longlines and nets. Its the most humane, as a bled and frozen Tuna dies fastest and experiences the least stress. It also appears to employ a bunch of people, which is always a bonus.

  • im sure the dumbest species could build towers, fly hunks of metal. and make things that can go just as deep as any fish on this planet not to mention break the cage of our own atmosphere...... yup we are all really fucking stupid.

  • look at that spray of blood at 2:00

  • i wish i wuz there in my bpoat with 20000 lines set!

  • That is the best video I have seen about fishing. The beautiful quality!

WOW! This is how fishing should be done in order to sustain the industry. I'm Getting thy rod out ASAP and joining these guys! See ya at the other end

  • Yeah Yeah humans are evil. Why did God make Tuna taste so good? Answer that? What if tuna were poison? What would you gripe about then? How us humans breathe in too much oxygen? Give it a rest.

  • It isnt the man with rod and reel hurting any species, its commercial fishing. Get real with these comment, people.

  • i wonder how many dudes get whacked by their fellow fishermans catch

  • thats just the way it is. fish have to be killed. im not gonna eat a fish that someone found dead floating in the sea. i want to eat something fresh.

  • lol that last fish was trippin

  • 1:30 - Damn that guy just got the biggest one!

  • Poor little fishy at 2:06... I wonder how the hook gets out? perhaps they just swirp the rod thereby ripping the hook out? :I

  • Screw these people!

  • what the fuck!!! so brutal

  • fuck these ppl

  • This was perfect !

  • I love you BBC :))

  • We are a miracle, so far i have not seen another intelligent species that can talk; and if we ever met one, like an alien, the first thing it will notice is how fucking dumb we really are, and how horrible greedy we are. Its like we are choking our environment and at the same time we are driving a knife to our hearts. Funny how the smartest species on this planet is digging its own grave, just because we are so greedy.

  • are those bamboo rods?

  • 2:04 <----- that is some boxing movie stuff. you know when a boxer gets punched in slow motion.. fish go owned by the floor...lol

  • it looks like they are peeing

  • amazing video, poor tuna :|

can some1 pls tell me the song? its just epic

  • @sh0wBIZZ solloh meka layee its by david mitcham

  • @poker4080 thx buddy :)

  • tuna : whoaaaahh.. leap of faith

  • This is Soltai No 105, a relatively new fishing vessel (5yrs old) one of Soltai Fishing and Processing Ltd's fleet. Export tax by this company helped to meet the medical & educational needs of fellow human beings in Solomon Islands, a country in the South Pacific. If we care so much about this place, how about helping out these people first!!!!!!

  • But this is ok they do not have big nets where whales or other fish die too

  • they are wearing helmets lol! otherwise they might hit someone with a tuna! lol look at all the fish flying at 1:05 its crazy!

  • they are wearing helmets lol! otherwise they might hit someone with a tuna! lol

  • at 2:06 i feel so sad for that tuna cuz look how hard he is bleeding

  • @aznboyy55109 more bounce to the ounce

  • @aznboyy55109 same here, at least if you are going to kill them, kill them out right, dont let them suffer!

  • @aznboyy55109

the hook probably got ripped right through its flesh

    what a way to die

  • @orangedac I used to think fishing was pretty brutal too, till I did some reading and found out their nervous system is very under developed. To a point where they do not feel pain, the most they feel is slight pressure.

  • @beemoyo

    that is completely untrue.

all vertibrates have a nervous system that transmits sensations of pain. why else do you think they are desperate to get away when they are injured.

  • At least these guys are using a pole and bait...better than commercial gill nets and long liners killing everything in their path.

  • Those are some real fishermen.

  • Maravillosa pesca...

  • Beutiful!

  • نيس

  • Amazing coverage. I wish there had been some mentioning of the effects of overfishing on the ocean habitat...

  • Why can't it be longer? :( Great Video!

  • at 2.05-2.06 what a smash.

  • i dont eat fish
