To put this five beautifull voices in a competition is something silly. How can you compare the shininess of a saphir, a diamond, a ruby, an esmerald and a tourmaline? Wow! just a superb lung power from Ms. Barbara Streisand 8:39 to 8:58. Only 19 seconds with that full voice. I loved her and Celine Dion. I like Lara Fabian for the smooth intact voice, Whitney and Mariah are great divas too.
I think Celine is probably the best overall singer here (she can sing anything) - but Streisand is the legend. I like 'em all, but sadly Whitney and Mariah's best years are behind them. Streisand put out the Broadway Album when she was about the same age Whitney is now - listen and compare - there is no comparison.

And it isnt even whistle which makes it more impressive and harder to do..and 2nd vid is where she sang a gospel song that is very low I wasnt expecting she can go as low as that! She also sang in various languages- Spanish, Japanese, German, French, etc. She has her French album and her English album at the same time. WOW Finish the two vids. Worth it!!
I love them all but I LOVE CELINE the most! Her belting ability is extraordinary very swift, very high and very powerful! Truly her own gift. Nobody can copy her belting voice. She can sing and move gracefully at the same time. Total performer indeed. Very witty, humorous, family-oriented, and remained humble. Love her world tour 2008-2009 so much. BRILLIANT!

Babs is #1 for sure, not only is she an out of this world singer, but an actress and a director. #2 Whitney, her voice blows me away. I've been a fan since I was a kid. #3 Lara Fabian, her rendition of Je suis malade is incomparable, one of my favorite interpretations of all time. #4 Celine, she has a great voice, but she doesn't move me and Mariah #5, I like her old material, but her latest stuff does rock my boat.

Singing is so much more than singing loud or holding a note. Let's not forget that most songs have lyrics. Good singing means it all: Phrasing, perfect pitch, timing, interpretation of the lyrics, timbre etcerera.
In music loudness is nowadays mistaken for good singing.

I know that. People concentrate so much on MC's whistle but i could still show songs of MC that don't have whistle register that the others would have difficulty pulling off. MC doesn't just have whistle register thats just a bonus on top of the other stuff. she has breath control,(which the others have too not taking away from that) she's held her share of long notes. improvisational skills, power. yes MC has power also. but there is more to singing than just power.

I think Celine is probably the best overall singer here (she can sing anything) - but Streisand is the legend. I like 'em all, but sadly Whitney and Mariah's best years are behind them. Streisand put out the Broadway Album when she was about the same age Whitney is now - listen and compare - there is no comparison.

Celine is not the best singer here. She is the worst. She can't sing gospel, soul, jazz, blues or rock to save her life. She makes weird vowel sounds, has bad timing and pitch problems and can't improvise well, not to mention her sound is annoying.
As for Whitney, she is 46. Streisand released The Broadway Album at 43. And we all know why Whitney is not at her best vocally: drugs.

I love them all but I LOVE CELINE the most! Her belting ability is extraordinary very swift, very high and very powerful! Truly her own gift. Nobody can copy her belting voice. She can sing and move gracefully at the same time. Total performer indeed. Very witty, humorous, family-oriented, and remained humble. Love her world tour 2008-2009 so much. BRILLIANT!
