  • I don't think the new movie was bad, But I like this version better.

  • I always thought the Oncler was, in reality, the grinch. i mean, he's green and hairy.

  • The new was a bit better seeing Danny davito as the lorax was hilarious

  • To all ppl who wonder why he chops down the trees: this is an allegory. An anti-materialist and (a bit of a far stretch) anti-capitalist allegory.

  • Butterfly milk? o.O

  • The Once-ler kinda reminds me of Dr. claw =P

  • the fluff of the tree makes me crave cotton candy

  • I'm so proud that I share my birthday with Dr. Seuss.

  • Look, I understand that if I don't like something I'm not going to watch it. And I won't. But for those who are jumping down my throat, and there are some, I was just posting my opinion. Nothing more. I'm not trying to start a fight, I was just posting what I felt.

If I have offended anyone then I apologize. For those who supported me, thank you.

    Enough said.

  • I have an idea for a sequel to the Lorax! It's called "The Lorax™ 2: The Lorax Helps Promote Various Companies Like Mazda™ and IHOP™". I got the idea from these cruddy tie ins to the new Lorax movie!

  • @iDuckFilms I love you.

  • The new version took out the real meaning of the original. like cosumerism and supply and demand

  • thneed = the end

  • @EdwardElricaintshort, indeed.

  • i have the book, and i've seen this version over 100 times. my baby cousin caity keeps saying i wanna see the lorax! so i grabbed my laptop went on youtube and she looked at me and said "this is the lorax?" and i said yes, dont watch the one they're showing in movie theaters its bad. and she looked at me and said "okay that ones bad, this ones good" shows to me that if you show a little kid the good things in life theyll have a heart like the lorax.

  • The irony of this movie is it probably does more harm than good, if you want to protect trees. Under capitalism as the price of trees goes up more will be planted, more than before, so you actually will have more than the forest had before. The movies message is to impede capitalism because it destroys the trees, which is false.

  • @zac1bar83 I don't think this story is against capitalism. Rather, it's against irresponsible capitalists who don't know how to give back by replanting trees after harvesting.

  • @lifewithjuan but that’s the point if some guy in the northwest wants to keep making money buy leasing his land to a logging company, as the price goes up he will want to plant more trees, it has nothing to do with his good heart it has to do with the price. He could be very irresponsible by cutting down all his trees but he will go out of business fast and someone else would own his land at a very cheap price.

  • I just saw the movie tonight, I am a huge Dr. Seuss fan for a long time. I've seen remakes of these movies and many have been bad..but I must admit The Lorax was not completely ruined or in anyway bad, there was more added but it had to be added..unless it would be a T.V. movie. I loved the movie, I don't cry in the movie theater, but this movie touched me. The original and remake because the message is still strong. The way the trees fall is the way the trees lead..watch where the tree leads.

  • I saw 3D Movie :3

  • @ihavesmarticlesx3 They killed the Once-Ler's character and made the message much weaker as a result of this and too many unneeded subplots

  • Why the heck did they have to kill this to accomodate kids and insecure adults? -_-

  • im watching right now and i just wachted it in school

  • The roads are white!?!? O.o

  • I don't think they "ruined" the movie. Jeez. People. look. Is the idea of saving the trees important? Or are the graphics that make you like this version this much? I'm not saying liking it is wrong, but seriously! Have they changed the idea? If you think they did, how? And at least consider the new movie or watch it before you criticize saying that it's horrible. Maybe some people haven't even heard of the lorax and the new movie is going to the big screen, right? Won't more people no about it?

  • I just saw the movie in IMAX. It was 80% true to the story, and it had the dark and depressing moment when the last tree was chopped down and all of the animals had to move out. It even had the Lorax lifting himself to who-knows-where. Sure, the subplots kinda ruined it a bit, but it was still enjoyable.

  • the lorax needs a gun lol

  • Dang Holly Wood is Just Getting every thing we love and making it in to crap

  • The new movie killed the whole purpose of the Lorax story.

  • they ruin the movie

  • I love this version.

  • I watched this b4 i had even heard of the new movie. I love the original and im only 15. My mom said "No! no! Watch this! This one is good!" So I did, bcuz I love Dr. Suess :)

  • I know they remake EVERYTHING and it's ridiculous, but I really want to see the new movie coming out today!!

  • They need to stop remaking films, all they are doing is breaking them.

  • @stevensw thank you

  • I saw the new one and its actually really good!

  • @TheLycorisLove we dont want you here leave

  • i went to google and it didnt have a cartoon or pic thing they usually have during an important date!!

  • I also find it interesting how the barbaloots have truffula fruit, but you never see it on the trees.

  • 19 people think they need thneeds, and hate the truffula trees

  • Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!! This is one of my favorite books from Dr. Suess. They should have released this in theaters for its 40th anniversary.

  • I'll never understand why they had to chop down the whole tree just to get the fluff at the top.

  • @TheEccentricityOMe That's the exact same feeling people have when they ask "Why do you have to drill for oil in the middle of a wildlife preserve?" or "Why do you have to have lay a giant oil pipeline through our eminently domained land?" And the answer is always the same, because it's easier and more profitable.

  • @altrocks, Not the way I figure it. I would think it's make sense to take some from the tree and let it grow more. I assume it's like leaves and can grow back.

  • @TheEccentricityOMe Maybe the tree would die anyway without the fluff at the top.

  • @lonestarfriend, According to the new movie, it won't. They did just take the tops at first in the new movie and then they cut the trees down to save time instead of slowly and carefully harvesting the fluff.

  • @TheEccentricityOMe i nvr thot of tht :P

  • @TheEccentricityOMe I can understand at the beginning, when it was only Once-ler by himself. But once he started building all those crazy cars and inventions, he couldn't find a way to do it without killing the whole tree?? What a waste!

  • @MaestorXiphosXPress, I agree, I mean a guy who can invent the Super Axe Hacker that can cut down four truffula trees with one smacker should be enough of an inventer to make something that can harvest the fluff.

  • @TheEccentricityOMe its because the once'ler thought it would take less time than getting the fluff little by little

  • @TheEccentricityOMe That's what I always thought. Why not build a machine just to extract the stuff from the top?

  • @TheEccentricityOMe

according to the movie it took to long, so they chopped it.

  • Get Swamp Thing on that bitch

  • Thumbs up if you are watching this on Dr. Seuss' 108th Birthday/The day the 2012 Lorax movie premieres in theaters.

  • @FlyingDuckMan360 THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The Lorax says "stop chopping down all my trees if you please!" The Once-ler replies, "It's because I'm green isn't it!"

  • Lorax: You can't chop all my damn trees!

    Once-ler : It's because I'm green isn't it!

  • the 19 people who disliked this dislike dr.suess, his books, and are going to go watch the new lorax movie because they can't stand the old version of the dr.suess books, and don't know what originality is

  • how did the lorax get in the stump to start with?

  • @10301994jcc

Maybe he lives underground beneath the trees.

  • @10301994jcc Once would think that he'd be happy to be freed.

  • Happy Birthday, Doctor.

  • I'm going to see the new lorax at 12 at night on thursday

  • I Hate Hollywood. No Originality. Remaking every damn thing they can get their hands on.

  • @midgetwthahacksaw That's right! No originality!

  • @midgetwthahacksaw And completely missing the point in the process.

  • @midgetwthahacksaw It is a good thing you don't support them by watching any movies. Wait, do you do that?

  • @midgetwthahacksaw IKR! it is horrible!

  • @midgetwthahacksaw I agree. What did they all run out of original thoughts? Have all the movies ever to be made, have already been made?

  • @midgetwthahacksaw And not doing a good job of it either... Ed Helms + Taylor Swift + Zac Efron = GARBAGE.

  • @midgetwthahacksaw i'm with you on that

  • @midgetwthahacksaw Are you referring to the 3-D remake of the Lorax which does not resemble the original story at all? Then I agree. The Lorax has an important message for our children the remake does not have that message from I have seen in the advertisements.

  • @midgetwthahacksaw How does it hurt you at all if Hollywood remakes something? It'll make a lot of people happy. If you don't like it, don't go see it.

  • Such a powerful movie... How could they screw it up so bad?

  • @Niakoleyeboy13 Simple. For money.

  • @Niakoleyeboy13 I just saw the movie today, and rather than ruin, they took an already powerful story, and made it even more powerful and tear jerking than before, I actually found myself more environmentally conscious after I saw it.

  • @coasterjudge, It strengthened my sympathy for the Once-ler. I believe he's just misunderstood. I don't think he would have done what he did if he knew the environmental consequences. You can see at the end of both versions that he has a heart to some degree. The poor guy missed the Lorax and held onto the seed hoping that someone young enough could plant it. I mean it takes 10 months to germinate, 10 to grow into a sapling, and he gets cut off mentioning the next 10 years of something.

  • @Niakoleyeboy13 Just wondering if you have seen the new one yet?

  • lorax-i speak for the trees!!! buddy, action is louder then words.beat the dude down, set his house on fire, start a petition to keep them from moving in.but take action.like the people in iran or the folks on wallstreet(what they accomplished,i don't know) but DO something, sometimes words aren't good enough.

  • Theed rhymes with greed

  • 0:01 Whoever came up with using the funk style of music in everything of the 70s, I wanna strangle 'im!

  • what you doin in ma tree stump fool?

  • Well I am the Snorlax, I speak for the... yawn... zzz's

  • The Barbaloots in their Barbaloot suits need more Truffula fruits

  • I remember watching this in elementary school! Classic!

  • I've been watching this since I was a kid, and only recently realized..."Turn left at Weehawken."

    IT'S IN JERSEY. Figures.

  • why did he even cut down the trees they couldve just taken the fur or whatever, it should of grown back

  • This is a good lesson. Never cut down trees I demand. Just plant more. You never no what you hurt or down to your town. You should only cut down trees for things u really need like medicine. Please listen 2 me. And watch the hamburger hotdog and tiger show give it a thumbs up and comment something good thanks allot 4 trees

  • 05:01 Famous Last Words.

  • .....the barbaloots are freakin adorable

  • I love this story but i remembered how screwed up it was

  • The new movie morphed the characters' personalities in a bad way. The Lorax is now a generic grumpy old coot who hates anything that breathes, the barbaloots are annoying gluttons who supposedly steal the show, and the Once-Ler is the Grinch's goofy cousin.

  • This one was epic and a classic, a teaching to kids of supply and demand vs materials and renewal..... the movie I can already tell will be nothing but a "Save the rain forest" Liberal b!tch fest taking away from what we got from this epic story from Theodor Seuss Geisel and turn it to... crap. What happened to original ideas that didn't have a crap ton of political blah blah behind it... all I'm saying. if you want to rant on an issue don't screw with classic children stories.

  • @TNGtreker For real!

  • @TNGtreker Hello my friends, far and near, I have something you simply must hear. You people complain, whine, and boast about trivial matters that mean nothing to most. The new Lorax movie from what I have seen continues where this left off in the very last scene. The boy takes the seed and then wanders off leaving old onceler to hack and to cough. It was already liberal and already hippie. Heck the Lorax is a tree hugger you ninny.

  • @bigloverboy8 lol you are tallented

  • @TNGtreker, Actually I'm more mad at the stupid Mazda commercial with the Lorax backing a polluting car than I am anything else. Please sign my petition on change.org.

  • I love the story of the Lorax. its one of my all time favorite Dr. Seuss stories next to How the grinch stole christmas.

  • @Dhampir1987, Have you seen the other Grinch stories? Halloween Is Grinch Night and The Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat?

  • @TheEccentricityOMe I have indeed. I own Halloween is Grinch night on video cassette still. and I do recall watching The Grinch Grinches The cat In the Hat. that one was epic.

  • I think the new movie in 3D I think well I am wondering if it is in 3D and I really want to watch it so I am going to watch it with my sister and my mom wants to watch it to

  • i doubt the new movie can compete with this classic! im taking my kid to it though.

  • @movieman104 Nothing can replace this classic!

  • @m7a7b725 so far the grich was funny but as good and the cat in the hat missed by miles. but im sure the lorax will at least be funny.

  • @movieman104 Trust me, pal. It will suck!

  • @m7a7b725 beleave in giving every movie the benifit of the doubt.

  • @movieman104 I'd seen the trailer, and I'd lost faith in that movie.

  • @m7a7b725 i dont judge movies untill i watch them. i have an open mind like that. there are movies lots of people told me have sucked bad. then i watch them and find they were not so bad.

  • @movieman104 Well, enjoy the movie. And after that, please let me know how it turns out.

  • @m7a7b725 ill let you know. even if i dont like it im sure my 9 year old daughter will and thats more important.

  • @movieman104 Thank you.

  • @m7a7b725 no prob my daughter like every kid loves dr suess the greaset kids author of all time.

  • "And I'm asking you sir, at the top of my lungs - that thing! That horrible thing that I see! What's that thing you've made out of my childhood memorie?" (Referring to the new movie)

  • @imaginarynumber Brilliant!

  • @pumkinpie89 he said exaggerated, not extreme. You seem to not appreciate the environment. You don't care for the environment? Without it you don't exist. The changes may not be as noticeably different in your limited view of the world as palpable as the change was after the Once-ler ruined it, but it's happening.

  • i want a thneed

  • @norskman69 Slinky Scarfs are basically the same as thneeds.

  • @InvaderPet Thanks for telling me

  • The truffula trees The truffula trees The bright colored tuffs of the truffula trees...I wish we had truffula trees :(

  • @theserpentsang Look at the fact that yet another Underworld is in theaters. How many Fast n Furious movies were made? No new ideas... Ruining old classics to milk parents dry, really. Disney re-releases remastered 3D blah blah so often. Lion King topped the box office again just months ago.

Okay I'll stop griping. I love the Lorax in its original amazing simple glory. I'm glad I found this video to revisit.

  • @theWarmth2k7 I'm not crazy about remakes either. But thank you for enjoying this video and for you comment.

  • The new Lorax seems to be more distracted sensationalism about a boy winning over a girl. I bet the message regarding the environment and greed will be utterly lost.

  • @theWarmth2k7 It's not worth watching.

  • @theWarmth2k7 I doubt that, from what i see it somewhat follows the message but it seems to exaggerate it a bit much

    I'm just analyzing it here!

  • @Kitsuneranger Agreed, I agree to an extent with the enviromental message but this is extreme. I don't even really care for the enviroment that much so it's a stretch for me.

  • I still love the original the best of all. Im sure the new movie will be good but you cant beat the classic. I also love the story behind this story.

  • this is the version i grew up watching in elementary school. they feel the need to replace great original films like this because unoriginal assholes can't think up new plots for movies!

  • @theserpantsang Well put, my friend!

  • @theserpantsang I totally agree with you. I also grew up with this during my elementary school years and loved it. The Lorax book and this show are my favorites because of the message of the story. I think the new movie is gonna be a whole lotta suck. I have no desire to see it.If it ain't broke don't fix it, stupid Hollywood!

  • @theserpantsang your telling me youv'e never seen a movie and thought or said " i could do better than this." i'm not arguing as much as saying it's not the lack of originallity alone as perspective of what a good movie is part of the equation.

  • @ghostreighn101, Have you even seen the new movie? You're completely wrong.

  • @theserpantsang Nobody's forcing you to watch.

  • @ShaneBales I don't understand your remark.

  • @theserpantsang lol i know right?? and the next thing that their going to recreate well be green eggs&ham or my favorite, hop on pop. and just like cat in the hat,how the Grinch stole Christmas and horten hears a who, they will screw this one up too.originality no longer exist in Hollywood.

  • I CAN'T believe that they are remaking this gem... Shame, Shame, Shame. Remaking this is like making Thneeds... fine somethings-that-*no*-people-need.

  • I wonder if they'll use the Street of the Lifted Lorax in the upcoming CG film. Highly doubtful though

  • Why not the whole movie

  • @20dl62902 Because YouTube gave me 15 minutes to upload this. So I have to split it up.

  • im a winner..i know all the words xD

  • @spectravbabyxo, I know them all by heart too. It's a shame the new movie only had about two of the old quotes.

  • The Lorax is a wise and noble creature. I'm sorry, but Danny Devito is the last thing that comes to my mind when I think of a wise and noble creature.

  • @Leatherbubba That's Hollywood for ya!

  • @m7a7b725 does it even have the same plot or ne thing to do with this movie i like the old school stuff myself

  • @Leatherbubba whenever i think of danny de vito the first thing that comes to my mind is the penquin.so i may have to agree.

  • @Leatherbubba it's true that they shouldn't have remade The Lorax because it was awesome the first time.....but that being said I find Danny Devito to be quite a noble creature myself.

  • I used to watch this everyday when I was little. im 18 now and i still remember the words during the movie <3 Love it forever

  • @PurpleDust1 Thank you!

  • (lorax) that thing that horrible thing that i see oh wait thats ya face! burn!

  • love the funky 70s background music. reminds me of the background music of fritz the cat.

  • The colours on DVD are so super bright. I had no idea the original was this dark/faded.

  • @Swifted17 Ah, the joys of digital editing.

  • None of you have even seen the movie yet. :P

Try to not be too offended by stuff that comes along. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

  • @timwood1104 For your information, I'd watched the trailer of this movie. That's enough for me. And believe me, I wouldn't waste my money watching that movie.

  • The Once-ler percent ruining things since 1971

  • the new movie could be good you don't really know that until you have seen it i plan on seeing it i don't think it will be good or bad i think it will break even but it is only opinion

  • @thepikafan123, I have seen it and agree with your opinion.

  • thneed = snuggie.

  • THE ZAX = PRIDE; THE GRINCH = ENVY (HATRED more so than wrath); THE ONCE-LER = GREED...

They are all related, but different races of the same species.

That's what I think at least.

  • @GothicVampireization, Only the zax were yellow-ish and not green like the other two. It was hard trying to tell my grandma last night that the Once-ler was not a Grinch. She was like, "But he's green." lol She had never seen the original Lorax story before.

  • The Zax is also included in this species bracket, obviously. The Zax is ALWAYS angry and stubborn, unwilling to cooperate.
