Ok I was at my grandfathers house and he had this movie, but it was on this big square lookign thing and it was very thin. If anyone has any idea what im talking about those old movies are called.

Ill try to explain better there in a grey or blue case. When you put it into the player you put it in then take it back out and it plays. Its definetly older the the vhs or anythign of my time.

Irony is Rodan is the first appearence of the Meganulon who would later go on to fight Godzilla in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus

Rodan isn't like Godzilla. With the ability to fly at super sonic speeds, Rodan could pop up anywhere in the world in no time flat.

Destroy All Monsters have Godzilla, Rodan and others on Monster Island. They have to come to save mankind from Gidirah (Monster Zero) when aliens try to take over the world. Mothra was there also. She had her own movie as well as vs Godzilla. Godzilla had many foes including King Kong.

@homodementicus the same thing happen to Mothra and Ghidora. Of course Ghidora being Godzilla's enemy and Mothra being his rival. Though I knew the human were protecting their lives in this movie, the Rodans didn't actually attempt to attack civilization, they were only out to look for food to survive and their wings happen to accidentally cuz carnage. If you watch the actual movie, you can tell when the miliary attack the Rodans, they didn't fight back.

I remember this was pretty intense for me when I was a kid. I remember the concept of suicide was a tough conundrum for my 6 year old mind to come to grips with. I never asked my parents about things like that... You just watch the movies and with jaw dropped, try to understand the apocalyptic stuff you're seeing on the TV.

Good question. RODAN (1956) was filmed in the full-screen ratio. If Im not mistaken, the first Toho sci-fi production shot in widescreen (TohoScope) was THE MYSTERIANS (1957).

theres nothing wrong about your comment. it probably went over all the dum dums heads. the movie youre referring to is ''ghidorah, the 3 headed monster'' [1964] released here in the u s in 1965. that was indeed rodans second film appearance, and a damn good one at that. you tell it!

Gojira, Radon aka Rodan, Ghidorah, Mothra, Frankenstein vs. Baragon, War of the Gargantuas, Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Dogora, and Matango are all Toho Classics. Nothing like them ever. R.I.P. Ishiro Honda; one of the greatest visionary film directors of this century.

Thanks. Nice to know that there are other people out there that appreciate these directors and these monumental films. Yes, I agree, Akira Kurosawa was also a master film maker. I tell ya who I like right now is Shusuke Kaneko. His magna to film adaptions of "Death Note" are quite phenomenal. His dark-toned Gojira film GMK was also awesome with Gojira having all-white eyes and being pure evil. Kinji Fukasaku was also awesome with "Battle Royale", "Yakuza Graveyard", "Graveyard of Honor".
