  • Firstly, two people must have had faulty mouses which accidently clicked the dislike button.

Secondly, why is anyone in their right mind shopping amidst a legend? You've got country music's Bob Dylan, humbled enough to play in a pawn shop, singing his heart out, and you're going to sit there and sift through old Ernest VHS tapes? What a shame!

  • Doug is the REAL DEAL & Inspired me to do what I now do "Perform Full Time"

Thanks Doug..your music changed my life! KC

  • wonderful song! I am the mother of twins and that pull on my heart a little more than most I guess! I have lived in small & large houses & I have to say I love being in a small house close to those I love the most! Doug Stone is a wonderfully talented man & I'm very happy a friend told me to check this song out!

  • Doug good to see you again! Hope you come to Europe soon!

  • to the few haters Doug Stone is immensely talented. A severe heart attack altered his career path. I never thought i'd like anyone like i did Conway, Doug I love ... too

  • Wow he's aged but the voice is still beautiful. The words to his songs touch the heart.

  • It's crazy, I, like, alot of ppl grew up with Doug. It's an awesome song..... Not to mention he still sounds the same as he did in front of a mic.... That's damm hard for a lot of singers to do anymore, that is sound the same in person without a mic vs. singing through a mic... Doug is one of few who can do just that.....He still sounds the same...... Great song....

  • Doug can sing and play, I sure wish he had songs on todays radio. The man has so much talent, just a not so good physical heart, but what a soul, Hes awesome

  • @atp1962 if he's so awesome why is he playing in a pawn shop? He's just o.k., I like the song so, I won't be too mean.

  • @dmillsify:

Let's hear *your* heavenly voice, Pavarotti.

  • you won't hear it in a pawn shop. How white trash/hillbilly is that.

  • @dmillsify:

I suppose that the point of my message is to put up or shut up; until you're headlining stadiums, arenas, and equivalent gigs, what you're saying is nothing more than opinion. You can't intelligently comment on the situation until you know why he's playing a pawn shop.

  • You're right, the guy has an amazing voice. I recently learned he has a bad ticker, tough break. All in all, I like him so don't get to caught up in my lack of self control.

  • @dmillsify:

Ah...that's right. I was thinking that John Berry had heart issues.

  • if a voice could keep a heart alive, this guy would live for fucking ever.

  • dude look at his bio man he's been in two plane crashes and almost died from a heart attack when u have that much time off from singing young people forget and donno who he is all true country people know who he is and remember how great he is

  • This was my fiance and my song-------he passed away 3 months ago

  • I have that very same guitar! Seagull S-6. Voted best guitar under $1,000.00 (US)

But more importantly, why is such a great singer ( I have all his CD's) playing a flea market? This guy can flat sing and his voice live or in the studio sounds almost exactly the same. No masking, dubbing or altering in any way. You can't find that nowadays.

I hope he gets back on his feet and back where he belongs....

  • That is what I was going to ask!! Where are there people just walking around behind him? This is feaking Doug Stone!

  • How can these people be shopping?????, there is a country great right in front of them.

  • when i was a little girl I used to sing this song in the car and it was my favorite one. Now I look back and the meaning is still great and think it's so funny that I had no idea what it was about when I was younger.

  • One of the best singers there has ever been.

  • We love you Doug. Good to see you again.

  • I once heard a DJ here speak of Doug and the words he used were "His voice is an instrument." It truly is, he's amazing...no voice like his anywhere.

  • how can people be walking around shopping when one of the greatest country music artist ever is performing???wish i could have been there ...still great today ..super artist ..

  • Just wonderful!

  • he sings what he has lived.... authentic... real.. love him..

  • At first I did,nt think the song would sound the same but it really does

  • He's a good man. Met him at Fan Fair '99. The friendliest star there. He's had alot of health problems, but still sounds great!

  • Great Post, Wish he'd get another BIG Hit! One of the best Male Country Singers..Period.

  • I think he wrote this song just for us. We have four sons in one small house, a little run down and really tight. We make it work and every time I hear this song I remind them of how they will remember our lives together here. It not about the size of the house or the money you have. It's really about the memories you make!

  • Doug Stone didn't write this song. Mickey Cates did.

  • Doug Stone may be one of the most under rated male country artists in history. I could listen to him all day.

  • He's still great. How many other singers can sing without back up? I am will to bet not too many youg ones.

  • I totally agree! he's great singing anywhere! I'd listen to him in an outhouse! LOL!!

  • i love this song...who cares where he sings, he's singing for the people aint he?

  • yeah, random spot for a concert! lol

  • Great singer and great song but has he fallen that much to be playing pawn shops instead of concerts?
