@mars188 I hear you. I gave up watching TV about 6 years ago. It just became unwatchable.
I cannot tell you a single show on the prime time lineup of any network.
I buy DVD's of the old shows from the 70's and 80's, back when there was actually quality television that was not an assault to the senses and any concept of decency.
@baguazhang77 love this show too. Couldn't agree with you more. BTW are you a martial artist? I practice Tai Chi and Filipino Knife Fighting (Pekiti Tirsia Kali ) myself.
@reemalin Hello. Yes I am a martial artist. Over the years I have practiced Northern Shaolin Chuan, Hsing-I Chuan, Tai Chi Chuan and for the past ten, have been exclusively practicing Ba Gua Zhang. It is the "style" I love the most and feel is most suitable for me, albeit I do not like to think in terms of styles. As you can see, my main experience is in the Chinese arts, so I am not familiar with Pekiti Tirsia Kali. But, I suspect the Tai Chi is complementary to it, as it is with most arts.
@baguazhang77 Very cool. I have a strong interest in Chinese internal arts (more sophisticated and, ironically, ultimately more practical)-Tai Chi, Bagua and Hsing-I. Pekiti Tirsia is probably the most street lethal of the Filipino arts while contradictorily the most sophisticated. Tai Chi blends well with my foundation in the mechanics and physics of power taught by Kali
@reemalin If it's not too much of an imposition, please forward me your contact info so we may stay in touch; it is always great to dialog with kindred souls who pursue the warrior spirit and way.
@baguazhang77 I prefer Tai Chi because the intent is not so obviously agressive without losing any of the practicality (I have an excellent instructor who is a traditionalist who understands application)-are you near the NYC metro area as I am? I have an interest and background in many other systems including Fencing, Boxing (formerly of Joe Frazier's & Gleason's Gyms), Judo, Taekwondo and Gatka. Pekiti Tirsia is the system taught to recon marines and highlighted in Bourne Identity.
@baguazhang77 I agree. There is no variety on television anymore. Dramas which all look the same, reality garbage, csi clones, unfunny sitcoms. I buy the old dvds too (70s and 80s).
@RetroJenny Theres a lot of good Dramas out there. (Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Deadwood, Mad Men etc.). I agree most Network TV sucks but theres some good stuff on cable.
Ack! The "doctor" was a drug addict. Brain damaged from addiction to the tobacco drug. Probably just what Archie deserved, since he was a tobacco drug addict, too!
@BCraingirl He reminded me of a horrible doctor we had when I was a kid. That guy used to smoke when he was examining us and he always had his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. He'd lean in really close; smoke everywhere!
Roscoe, he won a emmy for his appearence in The Cosby show. Done alot, i remember him in the Cowboys. He was the cook. great actor and just past away in 2007.
@UFOSPACE1999 Sorry to hear that. He had the most beautiful voice. That's where I remember him from also. Excellent actor. I wonder if he sang? Next to him is James Earl Jones. I have the New Testament he did on tape. Wonderful. I"m going to have to look up his film history and hope some of them are on YT. I have, "The Cowboys." It was the first film I ever saw ::spoiler alert:: where the good guy died. I kept wondering when they were some how going to bring him back! Shocked me.
I have to play the doctor in my drama class! Lol funnn.

I love this episode, but this doctor doing the house call is a lousy actor. Over acting big-time!

The nurse (Priscilla Morrill) also played in a Three Company's episode, where she played Chrissy's mother.
