Awesome video man! Where you from? I'm in Shropshire :)
I've been looking at either getting one of these or the Squier Active Deluxe V. Whats the spacing between the pickguard and the strings like? I sometimes find it hard to get your finger under there when playing slap.
Hey mate nice bass ! Just a question aren't the strings to close to the pickups ? It sounds like a super low action to me but I don't much about 5-strings bass ^^ anyway great playing !
@benwilshire mate this is how it will go,,,, you will wow ppl with your speed and precession but as for soul, well when you hit 30 and are just pure technique you will wonder why only nerds and cunts like chappers are interested..............you will study and see music is an emotion and not a technique, sure their are techniques involved but only to allow the creative process not just speeding away like a fuckin prick! and you may be saved wanker
Would have taken it into consideration if it weren't for the fact that you know shit all about music! How sad are you? Going on random peoples videos writing complete crap with none of your own!
You need to grow up mate and find something better to do with your time!
@outtacastatv Speed is another aspect of musical proficiency and expression. Feel otherwise? Ask someone like George Benson, Les Paul, Al Di Meola, Charlie Parker, Django Reinhardt, John McLaughlin, Wes Montgomery, Louis Armstrong, Lester Young, Bach, Nicolo Paganini, Beethoven, Mozart, and countless thousands of other fantastic musicians throughout history who set the standards for feel. Put some though into it next time you decide to insult another musician for petty reasons.
Yo shut up mate! Why the fuck do you think the techniques used in this video were invented? To be used. Metal, rock and even some forms of blues are built on things using speed, just because it's faster than 10 bpm doesn't mean it has no feeling!
Good luck on getting somewhere in life with an attitude commonly associated with inanimate objects!
The point you musical elitists miss is that speed doesn't take away from expression. It's just a different way to express in music. If it's not to your liking then it's not to your liking, but that doesn't mean it's not to my liking.
For example, you can play chord progressions to express an emotion, but you could also play the same chords in scale shapes during a solo. You will get the same feeling using the same notes, just a different vibe.
@outtacastatv number 1 he has soul.number 2 i dont give a shit what people play on guitar even if its souless i play what i want to play ,and it should be about doing what you want to do and im sure ben does. number 3.. fuck off you dont even put up your own videos playing guitar their just you rambling on about shit and finally look at your 3 subscribers then look at bens and chappers and go back to wanking over yourself. (keep going ben love your vids lml)
@outtacastatv To be honest you can have soul and speed it knowing when to use it. As I bassist and guitarist myself learn in time when to be more soulful and when I need to use technique with jamming with people playing in bands eg. Also Technique leads to being more creative and if you have a passion for music, the soulfulness will shine though
It's actually just to mute unwanted string noise. That's usually done with tapping only phrases. You don't want other strings ringing out since you can't really control(mute) them because you're using both hands.

Hey, nice video and bass, what do you think of stringing it EADGC instead of BEADG? To get the higher regester to octave-double some guitar parts.

Hi. Saturday I have got one too. It's really impressive how a Squier sounds so great for a cheap price. This Vintage Modified is really cool!
