Eric Clapton is not racist, he's just not from america where they have to be politically correct about everything and whine and cry because OHH!!! HE SAID BLACK MAN!!!!
Well, there was that incident in the 70's where he repeatedly and drunkedly told all the wogs to stay out of England, and that England is a white country.... that was pretty racist. But I am in agreement with you, Clapton is not a racist, he's just either drunk (not anymore) or makes a poor selection of words. I mean he dated Naomi Campbell for god's sake!
There was a TV special I saw long ago that showed From the Cradle being practiced and recorded at a different place than this video shows. It was shot in a theater somewhere and it was just fantastic. I can't believe that it is not available on CD somewhere.
I don't see any of this racism you are talking about. basically he is saying that he has a right to sing the blues because of his son dying but he does not think he sings the blues as well as Muddy Waters.
le meilleur guistarist de blues est SRV et la couleur de sa peau on s'en fiche!

I understand what you mean, it does say (part 1) but why write it? I mean, did Clapton say all of this? I'm sorry but it just sound's so, outrageous...
al192 ... you're probably just angry because you got a small dick..... you poor thing ! get some psychological help and be a better person!oh and by the way: go fuck yourself you cunt!!!
Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back. The black wogs and coons and Arabs and fucking Jamaicans and fucking (indecipherable) don't belong here, we don't want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don't want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country.
"I think we should vote for Enoch Powell. Enoch's our man. I think Enoch's right, I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white. I used to be into dope, now I'm into racism. It's much heavier, man. Fucking wogs, man. Fucking Saudis taking over London. Bastard wogs.
"Surely got to be said, yeah this is what all the fucking foreigners and wogs over here are like, just disgusting, that's just the truth, yeah. So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. You fucking (indecipherable). I don't want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man!"

Here the offensive stuff that Mr. Clapton said while drunk during a concert in 1976 in Birmingham. He has never apologized or retracted these views. His vitriol spurred the creation of Rock Against Racism:
"Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands. Wogs I mean, I'm looking at you. Where are you? I'm sorry but some fucking wog...Arab grabbed my wife's bum, you know?" (Part One
I think I know what you're trying to do with such a post, and Clapton doesn't deny saying these things, but attacking someone for something they said 33 years ago while drunk and probably full of cocaine or heroin is pretty weak.
the key word is DRUNK, we all say horrible things that we don't mean when we're drunk. When your drunk, you say what you hear, and I think clapton was beyond drunk when he said those things. This album is quite a different turn to those comments, aint it?
Saying he isn't happy about immigration dosn't make him a racist he isn't putting down any race he's just making a general comment that a lot of people agree with. Remember England is only a small place
Clapton's remarks were pro- Enoch Powell, who remains a controversial and polarising figure. Some deem him to be a romantic British nationalist; others, a right wing racist. Manfred Mann released the song "Konekuf" against him.
You claim that he is racist, if he was racist then why would he get so emotional about his most inspirational musicans, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Muddy Waters etc etc . . . none of which are white :p. And I notice you arent from the UK, so you clearly dont have a clue about what the immigration is like here, being totally open and letting anyone and everyone in is not a clever way to let immigration happen!
Clapton at his very best. For all the naysayers out there who said he was over rated and washed up, this album proves them all wrong. My favourite Clapton album by a Mile. Buy this NOW if you don't already have it.
yeah, one of his best albums my top ten is: 1.Unplugged 2.From The Cradle 3.Journeyman 4.Layla 5.Bueno 6.Live At The Fillmore 7.Blind Faith 8.OMCOMR 9.461 Ocean Boulevard 10.Stages Of Clapton

My parents came in the 70s and they were not illegal actually they had british passports.
I do agree uncontrolled immigration is not good.

He made a number of disparaging remarks about immigration in England during the 1970s that quite clearly could be deemed racist. Do some research.

but he was also "clearly intoxicated" at the time

However I would also include his Robert Johnson album, pos in place of the Blind Faith album.
