i know yours a 86' but i was gona buy a 85' saturday but i did'nt it was really cool good power all around and both year models look the same nice car
This must be up north some where, cause of the heater in front of the garage. Down here in south florida its about 97 degrees, feels like 120 with the humidity...always summer. Thats why i had to upgrade my radiator on my '89 5.0. I'm restoring her to original condition, especialy with the paint & bodywork. Nice car bro......keep burning up the streets.
Nice, I'm close to breaking the new plant in my 89....I noticed you relocated battery, any suggestions or tips would be great as mine is also a fastback, and I already have a battery box waiting for the relocation.....THX
Nice Mustang. Sounds great, runs like an animal. Now stop bossing your brother around and clean your air filter! Nothing like letting your healthy motor breath through a filthy dirty air filter.
Nice car you just need to learn how to drive it. Luke you show your ignorance in your comments you say you know about cars and then babble some bullshit out your mouth.
no i just know about engines, i have a 3.0 v6 accord that has 271 hp, it has two less cylinders that are about 35% smaller. So in short, THIS CAR IS SHIT
Oh you know about engines? So you know that this car is from 1986. A time when Ferrari's had 190-200rwhp and it was considered great? And you're comparing it against a vehicle from 2000 and up? So you know nothing about automotive engineering progression, therefore you don't know about engines?
Actually you said that my "torqueless" honda isn't fast because it revs high. which is just retarted, im not talking about time im talking about my car is better
I'm going to do you a favor and look down at my actual post. It's only about a half a page scroll "Yeah...It doesn't need to rev to 9k to make power like a torqueless honda. You think because your honda revs higher, that it's faster?"
Which states that cars that produce low torque need to rev higher to make power. Seeing as how horsepower is torque x RPM / 5252 aside to time. I said nothing about how fast any car is. I just said that your fetish for high revving engines is funny.
All depends what the bore is like, most likely the bore in the 3.0 is bigger because it revs high, high revs and long strokes w/ small bores equals a big problem. Idt that guys daily driver honda will beat this kids 5.0, no chance in hell.
Not necessarily. The pistons are about the same size its all about boring for high compression, high compression on V6 motors IE 350/370zs and such is what makes them keep up with 5.0s and 4.6s. Piston size should be about the same
Nice car im trying to get my 84 mustang gt done. And also you need put a manual valve body on that and then install a slap shifter . But still nice car
Stock transmissions don't come with shift kits. Unless he was planning on switching over to a manual then the shift light is useful. He has a stock shifter. No reason to mess with an automatic since its more constant than a manual down the strip.
i know they dont come with shift kits , i ment if he had like a aftermarket shifter like the quickshifter or maybe the regular tach stopped working you never know or maybe he just made a ricer move ahha
In '86 HP was hurt by the heads. You can swap on later E7TE heads, keep your flat tops (the valves will clear with a stock cam) and have a better engine due to the higher compression.

@ripkc91 It's because of the stock alternator. Mine does the same because of its Mickey Mouse 75amp output.
A dip in voltage drops the RPM, which causes another dip, and so on. The taillights dimming are a dead giveaway.

The pistons in a 3.0 V6 should be bigger than pistons in a 5.0 V8

did these cars have fuel injection then?
gutaplayer 2 years ago
'86 was the first year for the multi-port injection(the one everyone is familiar with) on the Mustangs

shift kit

You still don't need a light. The shift kit is inside the transmission

its still depends how do you know it did come with the car ?

orvil011 2 years ago
Ya, what from 2nd, to 3rd thats about it. If you want to shift, should have gotten a manual in the first place lol

bunkyjr86 2 years ago
no its at my ex-girlfriends house unfortunately
xXrabbit86Xx 2 years ago
original 86' motors are junk anyways, find yourself a low mile 87-93 motor....86 had the flat top pistons and were toady compared to newer years
bunkyjr86 2 years ago
