You can't really compare the Naxx of then to the Naxx of now, there's been far too many mechanic changes to the games. Nobody has to farm resistance gear to help stop damage, barely any people have to work with a rotation of raid members anymore. Nobody ever has to bandage themselves at the opportune moment, or use a resistance pot at the right moment to help them out.

Naxx10/25 can't be as difficult as Naxx40, because mechanics don't open opportunities for human error, but rather ignorancy.

Id have to agree, ICC is boring... I could spend hours just standing in Naxx because of the music. I didnt mind wiping.. it was frustrating but the music really kept you going late into the night.

No offense, but Naxx F'in owns ICC in the creativity department. And pre-BC Naxx owns it in almost every difficulty aspect.

Dude the origional Naxx (Pre BC) was INSANELY difficult.. I know of few guilds that cleared it, noone had it on lockdown, thats for sure. Using the full week, wiping and taking entire nights for some of the bosses.. Top shelf, bar none the coolest raid instance.

@CamusTheDark yeah. I bet the people who are able to kill the Lich King aren't able to make it through original Naxxramas. It's THAT hard. Even 70's kept wiping in there on a full group!

Heroic 25 man lich king groups would be able to do old Naxx fine, but the normal mode groups would probably have trouble with it.

I never said old Naxx was easy. It was the hardest raid in the history of the game, it was so hard, level 70 groups would have trouble with it. My comment was aimed at someone who said ICC groups could never do it, and I was pointing out, yes, most, but if a guild can clear heroic 25 man LK (Before the 15% buff), they would be able to clear old Naxx. Easily? Hell no, but they would be capable of doing it.

@CamusTheDark Yeah but gear wasn't well itemised as it is nowadays. Raids were brand new, very few people had great raid experience back then. Naxx has still one of the most incredible atmospheres in the whole game.

I remember the first time doing that place (I was a tank at the time, in a level 70 group for the old one). And I pulled Patchwerk... "PATCHWERK WANT TO PLAY!!!" and then it started playing what you said (2:10)

Although I normally don't get it from video games, but it sort of sent a chill down my back.

The fact that it was an outdated instance, and we were the only group to ever set foot in there on the server (server was added during BC), gave an "alone" feeling.

I LOVE Naxxramas... It's so dark... And the music makes the hair at the back of your neck stand! Pity it's rush-mode now. I really loved doing Naxx *sigh*. Btw, who doesn't love Patchwerk?

I think in all aspects, every other raid out there compared to Naxxramas doesn't have the same sense of depth or the same dark, evil appeal.

Blackwing Lair, Molten Core, Uldar, Obsidian Sanctum, ToC, Black Temple, they all pale compared to Naxx.

Then again, before Naxx was the entry level Raid in Wrath, it was the final raid of "Vanilla" WoW, so it was required to be epic, else they'd be going into The Burning Crusade on a low note.

I haven't done naxx in a long time, since it was over-run back in 3.1, but listening too this makes me wish I still was running it all the time! Oh dear, I might have to find myself a group now :(

With a PuG perhaps, but with a well seasoned raiding guild most can clear it within a night of raiding. ie 3-5 hours max
