I have that commerical on videotape. This aired a few times during the 1988 Summer Tour on ESPN. Exact same commerical, exact same spokesperson, Earl Anthony, but just the membership card 1987-1988, not the 1990-1991 one.
The first time I remember seeing this was during the 1987 Budweiser TPC (which I think was the very first bowling telecast I watched in it's entirety). I was 4 years old at the time.
I actually think it's the 4 pin that looks off spot (it's a little off to the right), not the 6 pin! Still an AWESOME pick-up; something you don't see every day for sure!
Looking at it again, I presume it's quite possible that the 6-pin is to the front and to the left of where it should be, while the 4-pin is slightly behind and to the right of where it should be! The 7 and 10 are on spot though! ;)
Maybe they tried to make it easier for him to make it for the purpose of this commercial! hehe :D
This commercial would be great if that BIG 4 conversion was similar to Walter Ray's. haha.

vanni9283, you must be the same age as I am. I was only four when in 1988.

I'm 24, in case you wish to know!

I wish I were only 4 years of age back in 1988. I was a young lad of 25 then.

Thanks for posting! I fondly remember this one! By the way, what year was this made?

I believe this commercial was created in 1990 or '91.

You know, pogi, I think I could actually remember seeing this one as early as 1987 to be honest with you.

That is quite possible as I didn't have cable TV at that time. That was my "guess."

If you look at the 6 pin it's off spot, but yes, nice pickup. Even though i prefer the "throw it hard" method :)

Who's right, and about what? About my analysis of how the 4 and 6 were set up in that Double Pinochle pickup?
