Vestax is the company that pushed turntablism with their PDX 2000 & scatch mixers, why for god sake do they not make somthing with bigger platters for scratchers?
@thesystemite Persanally I think theirs are the best platters of any DJ controller for scratching, as they're fluid, have adjustable resistance and they've got weight. Size surprisingly doesn't seem to matter at all. Have you tried them?
@DigitalDJTips yeah I had the vci 300, I just felt like i was too small to do accurate scratches. look at the platters on the new Reloop Terminal 4.. now there might be some platters to scratch with.
Im gutted.. he said you cant mix the external line inputs through the mixer eq?? wtf?
and no PHONO preamp input.. thats a deal breaker for me. Gutted.. nice piece of kit otherwise :-(
If this had inputs and mixing operation like the S4, and standalone mixing ability (without pc) like a MC6000 or the A&H controller it might have made my day!
If this does not have the ability to use timecode sources on channels B & D then I want nothing to do with it. What's the point dropping this kind of cash on a controller when I already have an S4 that's upgradable?
I love the build quality. I have been saying that if the S4 was "heavier" (IE made of metal and not somewhat questionable build quality) it would be great... unfortunately it looks like my dream machine will remain a dream.
I wonder if the inputs will at some point allow you to add vinyl/cd timecode control for Traktor like you can with the S4.
Really like the look of this controller.
The Traktor tsi file is already up on the Vestax website. Can't include the link but if you google for "Traktor series MIDI mapping download service" you should hopefully get the page.

is it possible to (when turning up at a club, taking over from the previous dj) simply run a phono from one of the clubs mixer channels straight in to the master out on the back of the vci 400?
only reason being.. most dj booths/mixers in clubs arent easy to get to and when taking out XLRs or master outs to the speakers they often crackle and pop loudly!
and obviously there would be a pause in the music.........
@DigitalDJTips im hearing that they dont work well with pc's and that the ac adapter falls out and is unstable is this true? also could i run 2 decks + 2 sample decks with channels 1-2 and two external cdjs on channels 3-4 with this?
@THEDJSkylerHarris I am sure any teething issues with PC drivers etc will be sorted out pretty quick by Vestax. The power supply is the same type as most controllers (ie a flimsy little low voltage thing with an external transformer) Apart from one or two exceptions, all controllers are like this. No you couldn't set it up as you say - external sources go through-to-out not through the mixer.
I still don't trust the scratching on the Vci's there biggest problem was with the lag and freeze up just like the sorry Vci 100 I still think the s4 and ns6 better
wow. your intro graphics template is really old. let me know if you need a new one or any other motion graphic video elements. lower 3rds, bumps etc...
@andy1107100 The Bridge doesn't work as you can't get it for ITCH yet. There's no way of adjusting separate volumes for the outputs - they're all governed by the master volume.
This controller doesn't appeal to me. I don't like the color scheme and it looks too busy and just random. I would rather have a controller designed for one piece of software like the Traktor S4.
Can you map a dj-controller(Twitch) just like how you want it? If yes, how? Because I started using it with traktor 2, and I don't like at all the mappings that I downloaded from novations site. If you have time, please answer!
do you have a mapping for me for traktor pro 2 ? cause i cant scratch and things..

@KasparStep Go to the Vestax website, they've got mappings over there.

@sqwerty123456789 We haven't reviewed the VMS 4.1 yet, but it's just arrived in the office so watch the website for our verdict on that.

He didn't mention it works with Torq from M-Audio...

@djscratchdog It is a Midi controller so it can work with ALL Midi mappable software - indeed, that's one of its selling points.

In simple words S4 is likes Apple but VCI-400 likes other copy cat company
alpharomeo 2 months ago
@alpharomeo I see your point (Vestax was late to the party with this one) but it's too simple an analogy. Traktor could never be an Apple product! :)

@ 6.10 he said you don't get EQ control over an input from a vinyl turntable or cdj??? if that is that correct, that sucks...

i like the LED levels in the volume faders, and dem phatt filter knobs.. but still not a fan of their stiff buttons.

does serato bridge work with the controller?
