this defense is not perfect cuz even if u will down your enemy on the ground, he may still choke u, the better way is from that moment when u put your arm on oponent's back just move your arm to his neck, then press hard and do a triangle choke, after that cut his down and choking him from the safe zone being top :)
i train in Ninjutsu, and id agree with Lastdaystudios. This is not a "real choke". for one he would not be able to stand straight up as he indicates. Your better off switching to your right and tilt your head to release a tid bit of pressure. Then take your right thum and insert it up under their jaw as hard as you can at the same time taking your arms and lift them under their right leg for a slam. Bas Rutten has a similar tech on this thats more effective.
For one>thats not a real Guillotine, for two>nobody's gonna put a weak ass choke on you like that>make the student apply a REAL choke on you>then let us see you get out with that slam>please.
@metal1324 there are a few other things you could do to defend this(firemans carry, and a couple moves to slide under and take their back but if they sprawl stand back up and push them into the fence, they cant choke you with your head on the fence, then know what to do from there too
I'm 5'10 and 140 and I've beat guys 245, 265, 185, and I've taught myself JJ watching vids like these. I've never even had a formal lesson. Those were all ground only matches for fun- but I used it not too long ago too beat a gang member with boxing experience without angering him or his friends. He was way stronger than me, but you know what- the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Although at a point, it does start getting pretty ridiculous. But those thick muscles crave oxygen.
" as long as iam not in the close guard or the half guard he cannot choke me " ... go and say that to overeem !!! of corse he can , and thats called standing guillotine
So basically, you reverse the Front Headlock in to a body slam. But if the attacker have the control of you head with the right arm, and with his left arm he's holding your tricep, how could you escape??
@maruj666 your saying that some muscles wont help? so somebody 5'4 135lbs with etreme knowledge of jiu-jitsu wouldn't have any problem defending against someone 6'8 258lbs considering no other variables?
@piker2007 If they sprawl way back, step back with you right foot pull them to the ground by their left shoulder. When they sprawl they lose their base so you don't have to lift them to get them to the ground. You'll end up in exactly the same position. I hope that makes sense.

Could this be use for a girl against a guy much heavier than herself??
Just wondering. Thanks guys

@1NX9 probably not. This looks like an MMA technique rather than something for the streets.

@1NX9 all martial arts can be of use for a girl against a heavier guy, just depending on how prepared your opponent is for it :)

next time someone gets a front headlock on me in wrestling, I'm gonna do this and slam the shit out of them (in the legal way).

@cslorek Do a youtube search under "Pedro Sauer Guillotine" and watch his buckle the knee defense. This should answer your question.
