ASYLUM SEEKERS COST IRELAND €1.275 BILLION, DOES NOT INCLUDE ILLEGALS OR CRIME OR COSTS FROM OTHER TYPES OF IMMIGRANTS.
The Reception and Integration Agency (RIA) heard that the total amount spent by Government on asylum seekers in the past five years totals €1.275 billion, of which €423 million was spent on direct provision.
Tried to find the place in streetview taht I took a photo from (midway between knivarra and Ballyvaughan) and I couldn't find it :-) Aille Bhuidhe is great :-)
you have no idea what the folk of clare have had to go thru till that its now passe. I have parents and grandparents that have had to leave for the UK unless starve. so the nerd thats talking about the ecology of clare needs to connect with reality
Thank you so much for this video. We went to O'Connors Pub on a visit in 1999. Wonderful people. We stopped by the piper's shop Eugene Lamb, on the way to Galway the next day. Wonderful person, and so talented. He let me strap on the pipe and try to play - whew, a lot going on there. What a lesson! Found out real quick, not for me! My hammered dulcimer is enough for me to play. Thanks again, brought back wonderful memories - I will return someday! Gail
I was hiking along the road during the lovely summer of '77 heading for the Aran Islands. I had just passed the little church on the hill outside of Doolin when an auld fella of about 80 stopped and offered me a lift on the crossbar of his bike. I gladly accepted and we freewheeled all the way to Gussy O'Connor's Pub. Ahh great memories thanks. Must grab my tent and head there again soon.
Just such an amazing video. My mum and all my Irish family is from Clare, been going over since I was 5. I love Ireland, but I love Co. Clare most of all. I feel the "Celtic Tiger" has changed Ireland for the worse, but this vid reminds me about why I'm so proud of Co. Clare and Ireland.
After the English exterminated the native Irish and stole their property and land now they are busy murdering what remains of her culture.
In ancient times the said that the Scoti thieved G_d's island the gift to the Greeks of Aaron by David Hebrew King whom also sent a scared harp to the Island, but was later to suffer the wrath of the Universe for idolatry for 1000 years.
What a humiliating experience for what remains of the Irish!
Nil aon focal firinn an seo. The Irish have not been exterminated. They are alive and well and many of them are wonderfully preserving their culture. Thanks for the video. Years ago I cycled from Knivarra to Ballyvaughan, visited Aill Bhuidhe and it was great.
It ill becoms anyone from the USA to write in English and make allegations about what 'the English' are doing. Daniel O'Connell 'The Liberator, no less, felt that Irish was a barrier to progress and that 'the sooner everyone learnt to speak English the better' Thus we know of history is far more complicated what we don't know (e.g the Scoti. sacred harps etc)
I just got off watching on the Web a TG4 show about the erosion of regional styles in Irish music.
At the end of the show several experts - some of the speaking in Gaelic - express their opinions on the subject, and of the 7 or so that do so only one has an Irish surname all the rest have English surnames ... and oddly no a one of them has a Welsh or Scottish surname.
So not only have the English exterminated us, their descendent's are now telling what our culture should be.
Sorry about my typos last time, then I was full of good wine and drunk as an American skunk - an Irish thing ever since we lost our self respect due to extermination.
As I said, the Irish have not been exterminated. It would be interesting to know who these experts were. Having an English or Welsh or Scottish surname is not the only factor in defining race or nationality, nor does it neccessarily invalidate an opinion. In Scotland, there is certainly less regional variation in styles than there used to be, and quite a lot of Irish influence in the music - but no-one is setting out on a deliberate programme to 'exterminate' anyone.
Maread Farrell was shot in the back on Spanish territory by the British Nazis along with two of her Irish companions, and thats not so long ago
Before that the British Nazi Army along with their puppet Nazis in Ireland were simply hacking Irish people to death, all of that began in the 1970's.
Before that in the 1900's the Black and Tans were let lose in an Ireland sick of you English arrogance and butchery. These monsters could have given lessons to the SonderCommnando established to exterminate the Jews.
Cromwell and his butchers slaughtered half of the people in Ireland and then began selling off the rest into slavery, the first white slaves in the Americas.
Cromwell's forces undoubtedly killed many people, including 2600 people after the siege of Drogheda 1649 Cromwell had executed 1200 Enlish soldiers just 4 months before. Hundreds were killed in Aberdeen by the Irish in 1644. Hundreds of Scots covenanters were sent to Barbados just thirty years later. These were indeed 'The Killing Times' No one has the corner on suffering. It's history.
You obviously have no idea where Uist is. I know of at least two Catholics from South Uist who were in the Black and Tans ( I am not sayingthey were right to join them) I am not English.
Do you have any doubt at all that Mairead Farrell was there to attack the British Army there? I know of people of strong Irish roots who served in the British Army in Ireland and thought it was not wrong for them. I do not count them as Nazis.
The TG4 programme referred to is 'Canúintí Ceoil' which can be found on IloveKWvideos. Very interesting programme. One of the first people to speak is Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, one of my favourite Irish fiddlers.
Thanks Tazio. Im a big fan of his playing. If you'd like me to put up another video on youtube, send me a private message. I wasn't pleased with the ones I put up before but would be willing to post a new one if there is a request.
Yes it is Kevin Griffin , he has no mustache these days and has very short hair !look at the " across the pond " CD at the back cover and he is seen wearing a peaked cap and drinking a can . What happened to your banjo clips on youtube? did you remove them ? why?
Very interesting documentary, especially for those who'd like to know more about Ireland, like me! I feel this strange connetion with all things Irish (well, almost all).

Cursed in the sight of G_d for eternity for your part in the extermination of the descendents of Aaron!
