  • 278 people have no imagination.

  • va fan? lol

  • @BotHub De har upptäckt vår ädla filmkonst, bork bork bork!

  • I wanna see Be Kind, Rewind-SWEDED!

  • I thought it was really sweet when they called it sweding. It was obvious to me that the reason to call it that could be because Swedes make cheap knockoffs of real design all the time. It's the whole buisness idea of H&M, IKEA for example...

Am I wrong? Not trying to put Sweden down, I'm Swedish myself.

  • Why Swede? I really don't get it.

  • This is a silly but harmless fun piece of fluff, guaranteed to put some smiles on your face and give you somewhat of a feel-good feeling when it's over. I'm sure that was the intent, and very little more.Watch this movie here BigOnlineMovies . c o m

  • That's how we do it!! SWEDE the fuckin movies hahah grymt jag vet :D

  • sweet

  • I just bought a video camera. I HAVE TO TRY THIS!!!

  • do it :)

  • It's not offensive to Swedes, it's just cool that they chose Sweden of all countries ^^

    // From Sweden

  • I love that movie

  • mdr on voi bien laccent fransai !! xD

  • I used to swede "Feivel Goes West" with my brother, hah :)

  • That seems so fun haha.

  • LOL. Yeah it was tons of fun :)

  • @bellsandshells best comment I've read in a long time, Lol!!

  • Best comment I've seen in a looooong time, lol! Nice choice!

  • love love LOVE gondry...just watched the "Tokyo!" trailer, looks so awesome!!! anyone heard of the other 2 directors?

  • Yeah it does look really great. The other two directors are really good and very much have that unique vision of things like Gondry. Leos Carax's movies are pretty underground. Same goes for Joon-ho Bong. But they look very promising in their segments.

  • Why is it called "to Swede"?

I'm sure it's got nothing to do with Sweden, but I'm curious.

    I never heard of it.

  • hehe, its just made up.. he made it as an excuse for the new "sweded" movie coming from an expensive country - sweden ? ... well in the movie thats what he said .

  • OK, I thought the word Swede ment something else in "your "world.

I read some other comments and I don't really get the point, but like I said It's your world.

    Thanks for the explanation.

  • To be precise, its the world of the film "be kind rewind"

  • It's because sweden doesn't care about movie piracy.

  • Anyone know the name of the music that plays in this video.

  • Find it a little bit offensive to Swedes.. but its still for a comic use and I still think of it as very satirical nd abit funny..

  • I don't understand how it's offensive to Swedes..

  • i thought the end was...adecuate. i cant think of another one. i love michel gondry and he is awesome..not matter what he does

  • i dont know why, but I love hearing New Line's intro.

  • Hope someone makes a sweded version of Bullit or something like that =D

  • on the end of that mvie i almost cry.-D very good american movie, at least an european style movie :)

  • are you joking

  • No i am not. i watched that movie some time ago and i really liked the end (as a filmdirector i watched that differently than you perhaps)

  • I thought the end was so cheesey but i liked jack black of course

  • will someone make a sweded movie about Star Warsor is it already done?

  • It's been done. Search Star wars: A cardboard hope. It's actually one of my favorites.

  • hmmmm, tell me if i'am wrong, but do they(and others)use the word ''Swede'', by mean something bad about Swedes, Swedish people/country overall or have the word as a tool to make Swedish stuff look bad/crappy/copying e.t.c or something else, why use the word ''Swede''? Can't people use another word? I mean,i'am Swedish, i don't understand why they use ''Swede'',it feels like they try to make things We do look bad in a way,i'am not surely understand this, unfortunatly.Swedish stuff is good, not bad

  • ...u shud be proud that they used that word...i dont get why ure getting offended...if u watch the movie, swede is something jack black comes up with randomly to call their remakes. he talks about how its this new awesome movie style from sweden and that since its from sweden and its european it must be really awesome...its just something random...and everyone loves the videos anyway so i dun get y ure offended...

  • Hmmm....ok, i think i understand, well at first i didn't get it, i got a weiw of that they made fun of us, i really didn't understand why they uses ''Swede''/''Sweded'' in their movies, sry.

The reason to why i felt a bit offended, was because at the first glimp, i thought they meant to use that word in a bad way, like telling people ''they just made copy-movies, make a sort of bad copies of stuff other makes e.t.c'' or stuff like that, like by make bad copies of stuff while we dont(part 1)...

  • (part 2)...make bad copies of what others make. And i think i was affected by rumors as well, to bad. Some people was saying that those people made fun of our country, apperently they didn't knew much of whats its was all about, and not me either.

But i understand now, i just simply didn't understand what it was all about, i got a bad weiw of this whole thing, and judged it before knewing what it was, unfortunatly.

I was thinking that when they used that word, other people would(part2)....

  • (part3)..get a bad weiw of what we make/do and/or does, like, ''those swedes just make crap, their cars, their music, their clothes and stuff overall, it's just bad copies of what we do e.t.c'', like, giving us a bad reputation or something like that, but i just thought that before i really didn't had an idea of what it was, at that moment, i didn't knew what it was all about, sorry, my fault.

But when i see those movies now, it's kinda fun, some of them is quite good and gives good laught :D

  • aha, säger det!

  • Well first of all, it was a random thing he said. Second, to "swede" means to make something from scratch with whatever you can get your hands on. No where in this movie do they mean to offend the Swedish; he just wanted to use a foreign-sounding term to make it sound like they were doing sophisticated movie-making... which kind of backfired into being more nerdy than sophisticated, I guess, hahaha.

  • Basically the American perspective is that anything from Europe, movie-wise, is amazing and sophisticated.

He used the name "Sweded" to make it seem like, since it was an invention of the Swedish, it must be of good quality.

He basically just picked a random European country. xD

I guess you wouldn't really understand it unless you were from here.

  • Well i was´''young'', unaware, an wasen't so sure of what it was all about, i draw the wrong conclusion that it was offensive, no big deal every1 makes mistakes :) I find most sweded movies hillarous, no offence to anyone, and i hope i haven't made my country look bad in any other way with the comments i left months ago, sorry.

Good concept, again, sorry for missunderstanding at first.

  • Haha, made your country look bad? xD

    Nooo, noo. lol

  • No actually the reason why he picked the word Swede is because in Switzerland their is no piracy laws it's one of the only places where you have fileshare like limewire bieng legal. He picked it because thats the only place where you could sort of pirate movies like that legally. But yeah the verb "sweded" is fake.

  • Switzerland? I think you mean Sweden because if he was talking about Switzerland then it would have been called Swiss-ing or something

  • Haha woops thanks for the correction

  • Yeah that confused me a bit.

Sweden doesn't have any piracy laws?

    Huh.

    Sweden is great, man.

  • In the film he says it's because it's from far away..and it's expensive! -On the spur of the moment, when a local small gang member says "it's the name of a country, how can it be a verb?"

  • Stop being so sensitive. Seriously, you're being an idiot. If you watch the movie it's explained.

  • Oh, sorry my mistake, i'am just a person who happend to missunderstood what it was all about, if you read earlier posts i explain that i missunderstood the whole ''Swede-thing'', so it's nothing to argue about now, right?

Just because someone asks doesn't neccecarely mean that the person is sensetive, btw, what is wrong with sensetive people for you?

It's nothing wrong being sensetive at all.

Ok, now i hope you understand so let's leave this behind shall we?

    Best regards

    -EddieMotor

  • Yeah, sorry about my tone. Shouldn't have responded like that

It's just kind of irritating when it seems like you're trying to create with a reason to find the word offensive. The connection you came up with (Sweded = copied = Sweden is copied) is very very tenuous at best. That's what I meant by over sensitive. Most people when they hear Sweded wouldn't think anything like that. If you have to reach that much, chances are it doesn't mean anything bad at all

But sorry for responding like that.

  • Well, i'am aware that i sometimes makes ''over-stepps'' in conversasions, maybe sound unreasonable, but it's just, i sometimes don't know how write stuff reasonable, wellorginized in content so it sounds/looks well, depending to the situation, it may happend to look a bit childish, unserious, but it's something that i work on, i got some problems to write stuff seriously in others eyes e.t.c, so it may happend to not make any sense or look serious, again, it's something i work on.

  • Like I said, my mistake.

  • It's like, if i'am up to respond and make it look seriously, i may went to much on explaining stuff and it all may look unseriously, a bit childish, or unreasonable to others, tenuous e.t.c, and if i connect stuff like you mention, it may look tenuous or unreasonable when all put together.

Sometimes when i try to write something reasonable, it ends up not look like that, and i got to explain e.t.c to others whati mean so they get the point e.t.c But i don't have time to explain more now.

  • my god you go from having a simple argument to lickig the complete hole off each other. this is just so unrealistic its a joke, your a bunch of arse bandits. here why dont we set up your own little website for you so you can go and give each other some more lovely comments. btw who cares if something looks unreasonable, nobody wants an explanation. who cares whoes mistake it was. go add each as friends and take this conversation else please.

  • well think hes got a term going with this movie. 20 min version of dlacula would be funny to see

  • finally a term for what me and my friends do! sweding rox

  • i wana watch this movie

  • jb is funny.. but don't understand a shit

  • Fattar ingenting av videon..

  • whys it called swede

    // a swede

  • because they said the tapes were coming from Swdeen

  • You mean they told the people that the blank tapes were coming from Sweden or the movie was custom-made (shot) there?

    I didnt get that part.

  • I haven't seen the film lol but I think they saying the tapes are coming all the way from Sweden and that's why they take a while to get there when someone rents one (but really they need the time to film it themselves) I think...

  • true! great movie! lol

  • the sweden stuff is because jack says to the custumers the movies are sweded (meaning sweden like the country) but also meaning like imported, but sweded ends up being a verb that means "custom made movie"

  • Actually, it wasn't Jack that said that, it was the chick they get to film with them.

  • It was Jack...! Check it..! She later institutionalises it by putting up signs using the word.

  • now i just wanna swede every movie i've ever seen...

gonna go see this movie next week, so wxcited about it. jack black rocks.

  • Woah. I just saw that movie like, an hour ago.

    What a coincidence.

  • thats not a coincidence u looked for the trailer. it wasnt by accident

  • lmaooooo

  • i just had a crazy thought. someone should try sweding Be Kind Rewind!!! that would be hilariously difficult...

  • yeah i thought of that too. but its already kinda been done in the trailer (sweded version)

  • @mattsmolen Maybe Be Kind Rewind can only be reverse-sweded. Which would mean a 150 Million Dollar budget, at least 5 stars playing on it and a soundtrack by Madonna, 50 cent and Celine Dion!

  • @mattsmolen

I said this the other day! I hope someone really does it.

  • @mattsmolen

I said this the other day! I hope someone really does it.

  • @mattsmolen actually it was sweded by michael gondry itself.. right? look for it on youtube, but you probably already know this by now. excuse my english

  • @mattsmolen the universe would implode...but in swede form: BANG, KAPOW, SCREAM! SHARAKABATOOOOM! Stillness.

  • they should make this a contest on youtube like to see the best sweded video

  • im not joking that sounds like a really good idea if some ppl are intrested i would so do that

  • they call it sweding, cuz in they movie be kind reward they claim that the movies are imported from the far away foreign country sweden. that way they can claim a much higher price for the movies when they sell them.

  • Haha, let's go Swede it all. Why's it call Sweded, though?

  • amerikanare vet inget om sverige och detta bevisar saken ^^

  • hahah fun that this is called sweding i think dis is gunna be big:D

och svenskar varför ska vissa börja bråka det är väl kul att det är en roligt ssak som uppkallats efter oss ta inte åt er iaf...

  • Heja Sverige, du kära fosterland. Du kanske kan vara bäst nån gång ibland.

  • that's pretty cool :) I looove michel grondry, and jack black isn't bad either :p

  • omg Omegatron.. lol StreetGlow

  • är inte nån svensk :O

  • hahaha

  • Och du skrattar, varför?

  • Of all country names for this type of thing, they just had to choose Sweden, how come? I do hope it's because they like us Swedes. If not, there will be a lot of angry Swedes if they did it to disrespect us.

  • I'm not a Muslim.

  • i think swedish people like things that are simple, efficient and enjoyable to watch just like an IKEA furniture.

  • IKEA furniture, simple? You're way off dude.

  • LOL.get your scenario kit and make the film by yourself that"s sweded!!

  • "anuman94"...HAHAHAHA..

  • Don't worry, Swedish people are awesome.

Sweden is the atheist capital of the worlddd, right?

  • hell yeah!

  • Don't worry, Swedish people are awesome.

Sweden is the atheist capital of the worlddd, right?

  • I think the whole Scandinavia is in that direction.

  • Pretty much yes, its about60-80%

  • "i'm from a 3rd world country... wahhhhhh!!!"

  • shut up! since when is michel gondry american and since when do all americans rape war prisoners?! this movie is excellent

  • Right back, atcha, numbskull.

  • I thought we had some self-distance in Sweden? The only ones who gets this upset for these things gotta be the disgusting Stureplan-brats. Are you a disgusting Stureplan-brat?

  • Wouldn't it like... really be illegal to "swede" a movie? I mean, if you were to post it on Youtube that is. Me and my friends (my friends and I) were gonna swede some movies... but can we and not get stuck with like a big fine from some big film industry for using their ideas and posting it on Youtube? Please reply with educated, researched answers.

  • I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice. With that caveat:

US Copyright Law has a "parody clause" that protects you under certain circumstances. The court can find your work to be "satire" instead of "parody", and satire isn't protected.

Also, paraphrasing is less problematic than quoting, which is less risky than using video or audio clips from the movie. Do it all yourself, and the danger is minimal.

  • Does this have anything to do with sweden?

  • Does anyone else think that Dave Chapelle would have been PERFECT for this role? No disrespect to Mos Def, but in my opinion he's a poet/lyricist/rapper before an actor.

  • with all due respect... mos def has more of that"chill" attitude that i think gondry wanted. chapell would have overdone it.

  • i saw this today sweding is going to be popular as hell

  • michel isn't just that guy who does the funny trick with his feet or nose. i'd recommend looking up his music videos which some of them, if not all are on here. not to mention his films eternal sunshine and science of sleep.

  • Isn't 'Sweding' more or less a variation of 'Dogma 95'?

  • Not particularly, no. There aren't any rules. Sweders are called upon to use their resources imaginatively out of necessity, not some self-imposed set of limitations.

  • Sweding is going to be as popular as making up your brand new dance.

  • isnt micheal gondry that rubix cube with feet guy?

  • yes

  • Yes, that is.

  • yeah i think so

  • what does swede mean

  • it means to like put yourself into your favorite things, its on the website if you want the real definition

  • saw this movie today.... its awesome! jack black ftw!!!

  • i thought it came out on the 22nd?

  • what a fuckin liar

  • It came out last week in England. I saw it too.

    Be kind Rewind is great!

  • Taking two things and combining them into a new thing is actually very swedish, allmost all new swedish inventions are made this way :)

  • i'm sorry you wasted even more time leaving a comment for something you apparently arent very familiar with

    gondry rules! :D

  • yyyeeaa

  • YAY!Oh gosh I want to see this sooooo badly ive been waiting forever for it to come out! :D
