  • it work this logic in windows XP ?

  • hey, I'm new to apple logic.

Do you know how to record software instrument using the key(typing)-board?

    thanks

  • I know that this is an option in GarageBand... haven't tried it in logic. If you really want to work with the software instruments, I would highly recommend an inexpensive USB keyboard. It's super easy to connect and works very well.

  • Press the caps lock key and the musical typing board should show up.

  • u got the noob express version ?

  • I know a guy who uses logic express and sent a signage request to one label. He got deals from four labels. Here he is:

stan-sb (dot) newgrounds (dot) com (slash) audio

  • I just ordered Logic Express 8. i am sooo excited.

  • hey brother...i was wondering for Logic 8...can u edit the loops to make your own unique drum beats/fills?...also, I know it has alot of hip hop/dance drum sounds...does it have actual good acoustic/rock/funk sounding drums?

  • u can edit loops in the score screen, piano roll etc and if you want a good acoustic drum kit get ez drummer

  • Yeah, Logic/Garageband includes some decent drum kits, but ez drummer or Drumkit from Hell is a great way to expand to have a lot of options.

  • Drumkir from hell is a expansion to ezdrummer... so its not "ezdrummer or drumkit from hell" it is "ezdrummer with drumkit from hell"

  • DFH was the original before ez drummer, but now it looks to be part of an expansion, as you say.

I'll just go with, "A good drum plug-in" is a good way to expand.

  • oh.. uuups sry... I didn't know that... but now I do :)

  • I said Logic because I talk about aspects that are also part of Logic Pro, plus it is pretty obvious when you see the opening graphic.

Anyway.. sorry I caused you so much confusion.

  • Yeah but Superior drummer 2.0 is better, I have ezdrummer but don't like it anymore lol

  • same interface

  • hey forgot to say that im using mac leopard..

    cheers

  • hey great demo.. im using 7.2 logic with an motu 828mk3. And im having problems not recording but playback im sure im overlooking something but where do i go in logic for playback. my Events 8 are plugged in XLR.

ineed some help. thnx in advance.

    easy

    culture

  • what's the music playing in the background?

  • clever.

  • haha yea apple rocks

  • Is that on the pro version? I currently only have express so I haven't had the chance to explore all of the pro features, but that is awesome!

  • hey,

im not sure if it's on express. it's called space designer, and the program to make IR's is called impulse response utility. there are many free IR's on the net though.

  • It isn't on Express.

  • I have was going to buy Logic Express first but i went all out and went straight for Logic Studio.

and Logic Pro is the Sh**!! :]

  • good info thanks a lott

  • excellent very informative dude

  • can someone tell me the difference between logic pro 8, logic express 8, and logic studio 8? also the price differences??

  • Logic Pro 8 only comes in studio I believe. And Logic Express is just VERY watered down.

  • right :)

logic pro 8 (the one i have ) u get all the jam packs!! amazing :D

much more effects, easyer stuff to use, looks nicer MAINSTAGE , Soundtrack pro everything u wud ever need and plus you get more things like Amps and you can create your own instruments! use the exs24 sampler and it has synths and organs and lots of stuff and if you type on google logic 8 pro educational edition you can get it for £119 that what i did!! and its great

  • is that the same one as logic studio 8?

  • Logic Pro 8 is one of the 3 programs included in the package called Logic Studio. I wouldn't say that Logic Express is VERY watered down - it has a good 60% or so of Pros instruments, samples and plug ins (and now you get the full exs24 (not just the player). But with Pro you get a modeling synth, sampled reverb, surround sound, support for control surfaces from the likes of Mackie etc... + those other two programs. - Mainstage is indispensable for live gigs.

  • ....)

  • i got logic pro 8! it's the foshiz

  • You might want to mention in the title that your version is LOGIC EXPRESS 8. Not LOGIC PRO.

  • what specs is your mac and what mac is it?

  • It's a mac mini G4 (pre intel) 1.42 Ghz with 1G ram

  • thanks

  • What's the background music?

  • What is that!! lol

  • thanks man that helped me alot lol =)

  • good video tho :)

  • no offense please, NO OFFENSE, but you kinda sound like big gay al from south park

  • haha wow... nobody has told me THAT before. I'm going to look that up.

  • i'm sorry for saying that, but when you said WHAaaT IS THAaaT! i laughed so hard cuz i pictured him saying that, please don't be offended by that, i thought it was pretty funny... but still a very informative video and helped me a bit understand it, me being a new producer and all... once again sorry :(

  • haha, yeah I know the overview is very basic, but to be honest I was also testing my snapz software for screen capture. It worked pretty well!

  • hi nice video there

im getting a mac and aplle logic soon. but there is one thing i just wanna know. what kind of formats can u save ur project in? how easy is it to transper a project into another mac?

  • Logic 8 can bounce audio to the following formats: PCM (Sound Designer II, AIFF, Wave or CAF), MP3, M4A: AAC, (Advanced Audio Codec or Apple Lossless), or you can burn directly to CD or DVD. Transfer between Macs is no problem, as long as both run Logic. Get Pro, if you can afford it.

  • ahh thnx for ur reply :)

    have a nice day :)

  • I am interested in buying Logic 8, this video is helpful. Can I ask what interface do you use with Logic? I am currently using Pro Tools LE with a Digi surface control for mixing. Any advice or recommendation would be appreciated.

  • I find Digidesign products to be overpriced. Right now, I think Presonus products are really a great value. I use an M-audio interface which I like very much.

I'd go with either of those names, and just pick the unit that has the I/O for your needs.

I know the video is very basic, I was really just trying out my Snapz software to make the video. I'm glad it helped y ou a bit.

  • nice programm i odered it too...i produce since i have a mac with logic

  • what's with the music in the background?

  • Don't like a little ambience?

  • hey thanks for posting this. I bought a Mac a couple of months ago and I'm definitely getting logic 8 as soon as I can. are the books any good?

  • you can get it off thepiratesbaydotorg for free

  • can you get all the plugs, VSTs and libraries for free too?

  • due you can get anything:)
