I know that this is an option in GarageBand... haven't tried it in logic. If you really want to work with the software instruments, I would highly recommend an inexpensive USB keyboard. It's super easy to connect and works very well.
hey brother...i was wondering for Logic 8...can u edit the loops to make your own unique drum beats/fills?...also, I know it has alot of hip hop/dance drum sounds...does it have actual good acoustic/rock/funk sounding drums?
hey great demo.. im using 7.2 logic with an motu 828mk3. And im having problems not recording but playback im sure im overlooking something but where do i go in logic for playback. my Events 8 are plugged in XLR.
im not sure if it's on express. it's called space designer, and the program to make IR's is called impulse response utility. there are many free IR's on the net though.
logic pro 8 (the one i have ) u get all the jam packs!! amazing :D
much more effects, easyer stuff to use, looks nicer MAINSTAGE , Soundtrack pro everything u wud ever need and plus you get more things like Amps and you can create your own instruments! use the exs24 sampler and it has synths and organs and lots of stuff and if you type on google logic 8 pro educational edition you can get it for £119 that what i did!! and its great
Logic Pro 8 is one of the 3 programs included in the package called Logic Studio. I wouldn't say that Logic Express is VERY watered down - it has a good 60% or so of Pros instruments, samples and plug ins (and now you get the full exs24 (not just the player). But with Pro you get a modeling synth, sampled reverb, surround sound, support for control surfaces from the likes of Mackie etc... + those other two programs. - Mainstage is indispensable for live gigs.
i'm sorry for saying that, but when you said WHAaaT IS THAaaT! i laughed so hard cuz i pictured him saying that, please don't be offended by that, i thought it was pretty funny... but still a very informative video and helped me a bit understand it, me being a new producer and all... once again sorry :(
im getting a mac and aplle logic soon. but there is one thing i just wanna know. what kind of formats can u save ur project in? how easy is it to transper a project into another mac?
Logic 8 can bounce audio to the following formats: PCM (Sound Designer II, AIFF, Wave or CAF), MP3, M4A: AAC, (Advanced Audio Codec or Apple Lossless), or you can burn directly to CD or DVD. Transfer between Macs is no problem, as long as both run Logic. Get Pro, if you can afford it.
I am interested in buying Logic 8, this video is helpful. Can I ask what interface do you use with Logic? I am currently using Pro Tools LE with a Digi surface control for mixing. Any advice or recommendation would be appreciated.
I find Digidesign products to be overpriced. Right now, I think Presonus products are really a great value. I use an M-audio interface which I like very much.
I'd go with either of those names, and just pick the unit that has the I/O for your needs.
I know the video is very basic, I was really just trying out my Snapz software to make the video. I'm glad it helped y ou a bit.

praXsad12 3 years ago
u can edit loops in the score screen, piano roll etc and if you want a good acoustic drum kit get ez drummer
hackhead123 3 years ago
Yeah, Logic/Garageband includes some decent drum kits, but ez drummer or Drumkit from Hell is a great way to expand to have a lot of options.
cassnate6259 3 years ago
Drumkir from hell is a expansion to ezdrummer... so its not "ezdrummer or drumkit from hell" it is "ezdrummer with drumkit from hell"
e3ro 3 years ago
DFH was the original before ez drummer, but now it looks to be part of an expansion, as you say.
I'll just go with, "A good drum plug-in" is a good way to expand.
cassnate6259 3 years ago
oh.. uuups sry... I didn't know that... but now I do :)

mmm.. this is logic express. not logic. stop getting people confused by the tiltle of you vid.
destrilogy 3 years ago
I said Logic because I talk about aspects that are also part of Logic Pro, plus it is pretty obvious when you see the opening graphic.
Anyway.. sorry I caused you so much confusion.

Logic Pro 8 only comes in studio I believe. And Logic Express is just VERY watered down.
