The size of "20 Gen" is 180cm in length, and 37cm in width. It has 21 strings though it is called "20 Gen". There are 22 and 25 variations, too. "Gen" is a meaning of strings in Japanese.
Yes! Kaori took a rest from the performance damaging the ligament of the finger for three weeks last year.
Well, I certainly hope she's okay D: I'm getting a twinge between in index and middle fingers from trying to play Izanai, So I think I might take a bit of a break.
i assume kotos are tuned not to chromatic but to japanese pentatonic scales?

It's so much bigger than my guzheng, and even that has 21 strings :\
Cords on that baby must be hell on the hands. I know My knuckles would ache after a session on there.

@21FingerGod
the sound board 's curvature is slightly flat... simillar to 中州筝... string pacing is standard for all guzheng... about 12mm apart
from the vid it seems the strings is 12mm apart as well
compared to 扬州筝 which has a relatively higher curvature
meaning cords is easier to play
上海筝 having the highest curvature will have the smallest octave gap among the guzheng
