It would be nice if the people doing this research knew anything about dentistry. I'm a dentist myself and unfortunately this will never work. When you drill in an implant you only have to drill a small straight channel into the bone. How on earth can you drill out the exact space for the curved roots of these stem cell teeth and then put this tooth into the bone? Another problem is that natural teeth have a ligament around them. Not possible or practical. Sorry guys. Waste of time and money.
@er1cmaurer if they can grow a windpipe within the body, im pretty sure they can somehow grow the teeth from within the gum so it naturally connect to the bone. maybe u wear some sort of invisline brace and the new teeth grows in that missing space, right size, shape and curvature and all that.
This won't do any good for ppl with advanced stages of periodontal disease. Without the jawbone as an anchor for the tooth, it'll be quite useless to grow someone's tooth.
For what reason are they losing teeth? B/c of Brittle Teeth? Or natural genetic disposition? For those that get them knocked out & non biologically related reasons, you're right. For those born with a predisposition that causes the loss, it may not be of much good to them other than a temporary fix.

@TheTankinTortuga Yes, but it'll help hundreds of thousands who are simply losing teeth.
