I like this version, but still prefer the original. I think I'd be able to enjoy this version a lot more if the vocals didn't sound so edited and auto tuned. It ruins Emily's beautiful voice and cheapens the song. I do enjoy the music itself, but I think the original is a lot better.

this is actually a remix. The name of this song is actually "Soft Rock Star (Jimmy Vs Joe Remix)" off their "Static Anonymity EP." The original Soft Rock Star is off their "Grow Up and Blow Away" album. I like this version better imho, it is much more upbeat and the guitar work is very pleasing.
