My 22 yr. ols son Sean died on Nov 4 2009 from Ritalin. Sean had ADD and had taken Ritalin since he was 12. Sean had just gone to treatment in Houston and was kicked out after 22 days. He was at a halfway house when he went to a doctor got his 90 (29mg) pills of Ritalin and took over 60 in two days. He was found in his car dead, Go yo My Facebook (Phillip Good in League City,Tx), see his pics. I loved him so much and he was an A student in college. I think the stress led to his abuse.

Giving amphetamines to kids is just asking for trouble. I took Ritalin in my final weeks of college, to up my work rate and keep out distraction. It worked. It also turned me into an emotionless, work-obsessed zombie robot. It made me unable to eat, and my face and genitalia turned numb. I took 50mg daily at most. My 10yr old nephew is on 58mg daily. He's half my size and weight. It's like he's locked in his own personal bubble of emotional indifference. WTF are we doing to our children's minds?

Do not take it recreationally, it can damage your heart, just like cocaine, by overstimulating the nervous system. It can cause heart block/conduction problems in large doses, and even taken regularly over many years of use.
