You brought up very real and important points before getting a dog or puppy. I might add to conceder the age of children and the type of dog you get, puppies really should not be around little kids, neither know how to interact.
I guess it’s clear why you didn't mention the more then likely possibility that puppies in pet stores come from puppy mills.
I can't believe they used a woman who is standing in front of a pet store. If you don't get your dog from a reputable breeder and instead go to a pet store, the chances are high that your dog came from a puppy mill. Dogs from mills aren't bred with concern for cronic diseases or for temperment. The dog may be cute, but it might have health or behavioral problems if it comes from a puppy mill.
